Nasri in a United kit would be tragic. It's time for Arsene to pony up.

Thoughts on the Martin Jol hire?
6/7/2011 12:07:20 PM
He'll keep Fulham heading in the right direction. I think it's a good hire.

looks like United are favorites for Ashley YoungI will cry if they get Young and Nasri
6/7/2011 5:46:41 PM
jordan henderson to pool is official, and they got rid of n'gog in the deal. doesn't get much better than that.
6/7/2011 10:35:36 PM
£20m + N'Gog for Henderson is a brilliant piece of business for Sunderland.
6/7/2011 10:54:23 PM
its probably like 10 or 15 mil and david ngog, 20 million pounds total in the deal.
6/7/2011 10:56:52 PM
Yeah. Ummmm it's only £13m and N'Gog. If we paid £20mil and N'Gog I would have been pissed.Great deal for both sides I think. I'm happy with it. Looking forward to seeing what Henderson can do for us.[Edited on June 7, 2011 at 10:59 PM. Reason : I heard it can go to £16.5m with incentives possibly]
6/7/2011 10:58:23 PM
My mistake. Still a fair price mark-up on the kid, but that's just how it goes with young English players.Dalglish reportedly targeting Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing to follow soon.
6/7/2011 11:05:37 PM
^It's all good dude. I'm not thrilled with either Adam or Downing to be honest. If Adam comes relatively cheap then I'm okay with it. We have a ton of CM's though. Not sure where he fits in. I'd much rather have Mata than Downing if we can pick him up.[Edited on June 7, 2011 at 11:20 PM. Reason : Don't think we'll get Mata though ]
6/7/2011 11:14:51 PM
Henderson, Adam, Downing... Kenny's building a squad, not just a good starting 11.I read that getting rid of Ngog means they're confident they can get Connor Wickham too. Also read they'll be making a bid on Jose Enrique
6/7/2011 11:36:56 PM
^Agreed. I totally trust the King with what he's doing. Looking forward to having some squad depth this year.
6/7/2011 11:51:57 PM
United to sign Phil Jones from Blackburn to ward off Liverpool interestGoodnight, sweet princemeanwhile Arsenal sign another U21 player, this time from Charlton. And you guys were on me about calling Wenger the Herb Sendek of the EPL? This guy does not fucking learn.[Edited on June 8, 2011 at 8:17 AM. Reason : .]
6/8/2011 8:13:35 AM
Great signing for United. I really wanted Jones at Liverpool but if we get Dann then I won't be too sad about it.
6/8/2011 9:42:07 AM
Good news for the national side too, Smalling-Jones partnership is the future of England's defense.
6/8/2011 11:39:40 AM
This is the defensive equivalent of the Henderson signing. Overpaying for a talented English prospect when that position isn't your most pressing concern.Still think both are good signings.
6/8/2011 11:43:11 AM
^ you're right, but i'm happy with any signing that means seeing less of jonny evans
6/8/2011 11:46:47 AM
This thread is overly active due to the world cup year.
6/8/2011 11:48:58 AM
^Solid contribution.
6/8/2011 12:37:03 PM
Gervinho said he's leaving Lille, so he'll probably go to either pool, arsenal, newcastle or city. I really hope he doesn't go to arsenal or man city, but I'd guess they'd be his top choices since he wants to play in europe.
6/8/2011 12:45:04 PM
6/8/2011 12:54:54 PM
I think we both agree. It's just a question of how you define "overpay." 15m+ for a young player making the jump to the top club challenging for a European spot or league championship who probably won't play that much is probably "overpaying." But it's totally justifiable because of the English player premium and the state of the market, in my opinion.I'd much rather "overpay" for a prospect like Henderson/Jones than stockpile a couple of shitty ass 5m signings that just take up space on your bench, have no resale value, and are basically just assholes (Poulsen)[Edited on June 8, 2011 at 1:05 PM. Hate to see John O'Shea go, but not much point in keeping him. Gibson and Brown are worthless.12 million breakdown:10 million for O'Shea1.9 Million for Brown100k, two pints, a bag of chips for Gibson

lolololol Martinez turned down Villa to stay at fucking Wigan
6/10/2011 8:00:55 AM
Not sure I have any qualms with that decision. What's Aston Villa's turn over rate for coaches? One coach every 10 games? Plus they're about to lose Young and they've been on the decline for two years. Whoever takes the job should be terrified.
6/10/2011 11:12:28 PM
Scumbag Wenger. LOLAlso, when should the 2011/2012 thread start?
6/12/2011 6:03:07 PM
Whenever JT feels good and ready or never.Whichever comes first.
6/12/2011 7:00:04 PM

6/12/2011 8:05:24 PM
JT's not going to make it, so it'll be down to one of ushe said he's not coming back also, some drama in Birmingham as Alex McLeish quits via email - speculation is that he's going to Villa. That would make for a tasty bit o'drama.
6/13/2011 12:24:16 AM
Sucks about JT Usually early July is when he makes a new one I think. I say we should at least wait until the fixtures are announced before making a new one but if someone really wants to go ahead and do it then that's cool too. Doesn't make a difference to me.
6/13/2011 12:36:16 AM
yeah, let's wait for the fixtures
6/13/2011 10:22:04 AM
I vote heelfan to start the threadAlso, not sure why Wenger is being so stubborn about Cesc & Nasri. News out today says he is not planning on letting them go this summer. I mean as a fan I would like Nasri to stay but I wouldn't mind seeing Cesc go to Barca since I'm sure they would pay a decent sum for him. For the right price though I'd say let them both go and pick up some serious defensive talent for once with all that coin. Still would have Walcott, Ramsey, Wilshere, Arshavin, Song, Diaby, Eboue, plus that new kid in midfield. Not to mention Frimpong, Lansbury, Eastmond, and Emmanuel-Thomas who have either been out on loan or playing in the reserves for several years now. One of them is bound to break out once they move up similar to Wilshere. Spend the money on getting Vermaelen and Sagna some help in the back.
6/13/2011 10:42:54 AM
^ because Wenger = Herb Sendek
