78Let's see if we can tie the franchise winning streak record tonight. It would set us up perfectly for a 9-0 loss to Buffalo on Thursday.

it'd be cool if we can keep the page number on this thread the same with the number of games the Canes played.
4/7/2009 3:59:24 PM
Sign outside the arena on my way home said sold out. Not even any walk ups for tonight.
4/7/2009 5:38:33 PM
I go running with the dog (missing the first period) only to come back and find the 'Canes with a 3-0 lead at the first intermission. Just unstoppable right now. These guys sure do make it easier to forget I'm a Wolfpack fan.
4/7/2009 7:43:54 PM
and now 4-0 keeping the puck in the attack for like 90% of the period
4/7/2009 8:08:17 PM
longest assist in canes history??
4/7/2009 8:10:47 PM
5-0
4/7/2009 8:17:42 PM
4/7/2009 8:27:56 PM

4/7/2009 8:29:49 PM
god i want conboy to score
4/7/2009 8:32:02 PM
this rules
4/7/2009 8:36:58 PM
i'm only concern about injuries at this point, don't want some utter failure like witt to make his markclear the bench. put in roach, albritton, keeter, simons, talib, and uh, kenny inge just in case someone wants to fight
4/7/2009 8:43:10 PM
more goals than NYI had shots
4/7/2009 8:45:13 PM
you gotta feel good for kaberle there
4/7/2009 9:10:05 PM

4/7/2009 9:13:36 PM
I need to get my ass back to Raleigh! Hurricanes ftw
4/7/2009 9:17:16 PM
Where is Dancing Granny???
4/7/2009 9:29:20 PM
DAMN, 57 shots tonight! only 12 for them.
4/7/2009 9:30:15 PM
The Islanders looked like Michigan State.
4/7/2009 9:39:20 PM
damnit! i cant believe i went to class instead of going to the game! go canes! beap beap!!
4/7/2009 9:51:17 PM
what an ass-beating!!
4/7/2009 9:53:55 PM
The fans were awesome tonight! Hardly anyone left and the place was packed! We got tickets for Game 1 so here's to hoping it's home ice for us. Their passing was great tonight and were solid in all three periods.
4/7/2009 10:06:06 PM
must root for two NYR wins over Philly from here on out. They got it done against the habs tonight at least... that would pretty much seal us in with home ice in the 1st round...
4/7/2009 10:14:33 PM
lol at tonight. Just lol.I know of at least 5 franchise records broken or tied tonight, and there is a 6th that I have yet to verify.-Longest winning streak in franchise history (9, also done twice in 2006)-Longest home winning streak in franchise history (12)-Most wins by a goalie in a season in franchise history (Ward, 39)-Most hat tricks in a season by a player in franchise history (Staal, 4)-Largest shot differential in a game in franchise history (45)-UNVERIFIED: Largest margin of victory in franchise history (9)Always fun when your goalie gets a shutout but wasn't even one of the stars of the game.
4/7/2009 10:25:01 PM
Double posting for this:
4/7/2009 10:45:37 PM
Also, that's the biggest goal differential loss the Isles have EVER had. I can't believe it, actually.
4/7/2009 10:47:19 PM
The Boine posts!
4/7/2009 10:51:13 PM
i dont know about the fans being awesome tonite. the asswhooping didnt really facilitate as much energy as the close games against the ranger or the pens last week. in those games, the crowd was roaringalthough the wave was in effect tonight...
4/7/2009 10:52:15 PM
pretty sure i saw sweden and vinylbandit in 331 i yelled SUTTER!!!! at one of you with the Sutter jersey
4/7/2009 10:56:06 PM
You did not see vinylbandit as I had his ticket (thanks again), but you did in fact see Sweden in 331, which means you also likely saw steviewonder. Everyone sees Sweden.
4/7/2009 10:59:46 PM
Sweden and I were in 331. Should've introduced yourself!
4/7/2009 11:00:18 PM
even during a 9-0 ass whooping,
4/7/2009 11:29:43 PM
also, Ward tied the franchise record for shutouts in a season w/his 6th
4/7/2009 11:43:43 PM
I have never approved of the wave during a hockey game until tonight. I thought it was hilarious. Even the players on the bench were watching it.
4/7/2009 11:47:28 PM
That game was just amazing to watch. A hell of a lot better than the stupidity that was the Devils/Leafs game. Every time I switched it back to the Canes game they scored. Ric Flair certainly got a work out.
4/8/2009 12:13:40 AM
(he was also there )
4/8/2009 12:14:58 AM
totally awesome being at this clinictotally awesome
4/8/2009 12:19:33 AM
Has anyone noticed that Bubb Rubb is at the end of the goal audio clip? The whistle goes woooooo. That shit had me cracking up... nine times!
4/8/2009 12:27:38 AM
Haha. It is pretty damn funny.
4/8/2009 12:35:23 AM
330 d1 and 2....def a good time
4/8/2009 12:37:34 AM
The players were really doing the wave? that's awesome.. fuck having class 'til 9 on Tuesdays
4/8/2009 12:44:20 AM
"we want 10" and "dou-ble di-gits" were good chants too
4/8/2009 12:45:10 AM
Hehe, I like we had 53 shots on goal to their 9... Ward had an easy night. Game was pretty good, but not a lot of good action really to take pictures of.
4/8/2009 12:45:29 AM
after a while i just stopped cheering when we scored, i would just laugh
4/8/2009 1:25:40 AM
When Staal got his hat trick, he was an emotional as a Vulcan... dead inside... Boy, 1st period was slow and dead.
4/8/2009 1:32:13 AM
4/8/2009 7:35:20 AM
Sorry I missed the game, but glad I was able to enjoy a Beast for good luck.
4/8/2009 10:46:20 AM
Vulcan91, I remember hearing on the radio during this absolute destruction of NYI that the largest margin for this team (Canes/Whalers) was 11-0 versus Montreal back in 1988 I believe
4/8/2009 10:48:48 AM
^^legatic went to the store and got some Beast for before the game too!I'm starting to think there's something to it
