I have officially found something I plan to make into a sign or something DIY for the wedding:
9/26/2011 11:17:18 AM
that would be so cute on the program for the wedding or something
9/26/2011 11:22:15 AM
Yeah I'm thinking of putting it on the program or making a sign for it.... And I've decided I'm going to do handwritten programs, and they will be on a single sheet because a) I don't feel like spending hours trying to design something on a computer, b) I don't feel like having fancy programs, c) I like to doodle(I plan on making copies, not doing 200+ by hand )
9/26/2011 11:24:22 AM
^^^omg that is adorable!
9/26/2011 11:24:48 AM

anybody know where i can find wines that mature on different wedding anniversaries?i saw this done once where you get a wine that's decent in like 1 year, then another bottle that's good in 5 years, then 10, then 25or however you want to do the increments.anybody either a) know what i'm talking about and b) if you do, know where i could get some?
10/4/2011 9:05:50 AM
It's hard to truly predict which wines will improve in the future, actuallyonly a small percentage will improve with age (less than 20%, most people say)but there are some guidelines for which ones seem to do better than others, and you can start with the wikipedia list if you like:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aging_of_wine
10/4/2011 9:38:15 AM
hmmm sounds similar to a gift someone i know got for their weddingsomeone "adopted" a specific row, level and whatever so it worked out to their wedding day (10.2.11) for exampleand they were apparently signed up for wine from that specific part of the vineyardthe girl i know seemed really excited about it as a gift

Hey TWW,I've been playing wedding gigs in the triangle area for 6 years now. I've taught violin at the Meredith College Suzuki Program and now I teach in Cary and Wake Forest. I also play in local orchestras such as Raleigh, Durham and the Tar River Philharmonic in Rocky Mount.I have connections with singers, guitarists, harpists, pianists, organists, string players and wind players. If you want some great sounding Canon in D when you are walking down the aisle, I will be the guy to talk to! So let me know and I can get it all arranged!I charge $150 per musician for the wedding ceremony. Please e-mail me at encvlnvla@gmail.com for inquiry. Thanks for reading!
10/5/2011 11:13:44 AM
^Sounds like a great price, and I'm sure you'll get some interest here. You may want to post a link to hear you play, or a list of music you can perform. Good luck!

Okay, pretty sure the Armory is about $1000. It's not gorgeous, but it will accommodate 250+ for a wedding.
10/6/2011 1:35:55 PM
^^ Yep, has to be Durham. Preferably with bus access. Pain in the ass I know ^ I emailed the Armory but have yet to hear back from them. Whenever I call the chick isn't in her office I hadn't thought about the outdoor plazas though. I kind of worry about what would happen if the weather went to shit and security though since it would be in the evening. I'll have to run it by my boss and see what she thinks. Thanks for the tips
10/6/2011 1:36:04 PM
The prob with the outdoor plazas is that the capacity isn't clearly stated online. And depending on the time of year, weather can be VERY iffy. But you can get that info when the rental office chick returns your call. [Edited on October 6, 2011 at 1:41 PM. Reason : f]

I need bridemaids dress advice... I'm in a wedding next June. And the bride wants us to wear fuchsia pink matching dresses (that's not the issue). She's still in the choosing stage, but so far I'm not thrilled with the choices. The one I did like, she found out didn't come in the bright fuchsia she wanted.I know I should just suck it up and wear whatever she chooses, but she keeps saying she wants us to love it and wear it again and her dress choices are all $250+.Other than David's Bridal, do you have any lesser expensive bridesmaids dress advice?
10/6/2011 2:13:36 PM
David's Bridals is about as cheap as it gets in the bridesmaid dress department. There's the formalwear department at places like Macy's but I feel like they're not as good as they once were and you never know what the selection is going to be color-wise.
10/6/2011 2:21:49 PM
I liked the colors at alfred angelo a lot better than db.it's affordable.[Edited on October 6, 2011 at 2:22 PM. Reason : dont' feel restricted to the bridal stores for bm dresses either. wtf am i talking about]
10/6/2011 2:22:13 PM
Or, consider looking online at Bluefly.com
10/6/2011 2:24:11 PM
Haha Kirk, I will start posting soon. We need to figure out timeframe since most of Mark's family lives overseas.
10/6/2011 2:24:29 PM
The first problem is that she started looking for BM dresses at Victorian Rose on Glenwood (even though she got her dress at David's).I'll definitely look at Alfred Angelo.
10/6/2011 2:38:27 PM
Victorian Rose has a few Alfred Angelo dresses. It's not where I got mine because they didn't have a lot of their selection, but they do have some. Maggie Bridal on Glenwood (opposite end) does have quite a large selection of Alfred Angelo dresses.
10/6/2011 5:37:23 PM
I haven't heard many good things about Victoria Rose....
