Who else is going to Atlas Sound tomorrow night? Please go. It's not my fault that place sucks at advertising. You'll have a good time, I promise.

Not to be a negative nancy, but the first 2 acts for Atlas Sound were awful, and Atlas Sound was really, really boring; even for a Wednesday.

Also, I'm kind of a regular at that place and knew maybe 4 people. People watching was awesome, though. I never understood the Pitchfork sway on the younger crowds until tonight...

*note, I'm not saying anything about the music itself, but the way he presented it live tonight was just something I totally wasn't in the mood for. A really good example is "My Angel is Broken."

it makes me laugh that people call Neptune's a hipster bar after seeing the people at that Atlas Sound show. I never see anyone dressed that ridiculously at Neptune's. probably was mostly 18-21 year olds though. thought the Carnivores band was decent. except for hipster on the theremin. fuck that guy.

yeah its not normally like that. i feel like the show drew from the younger crowd that doesnt normally go out or something. two of those hipster chicks looked incredible though - the one with the tube dress and glasses, and the redhead. damn.

Solution: get a drink at Slim's at 6-7, see who shows up to load in/what gear is loaded in.

Yeah, etix is letting them down. I deduced from them playing in Wilmington the night before that they'd probably be coming back to play Slims or Kings the next day.

Anyway, if anyone went to the show, please comment on whether the LL played any new songs, and whether you thought they were worth a damn. I feel like they played a new one during Hopscotch, but it was pretty meh...

If I remember correctly they played 2 new songs. I enjoyed them both, however they were both fast paced songs which are fairly easy to enjoy in a live setting, even if they aren't that good. I couldn't hear the lyrics very well at all, so I can't comment on that.

50 hand-numbered “special edition” copies of EP2 will be available for purchase at the show. Download codes will be included with each cassette.

Lakitu loves cassettes.

Anybody go to the Crooked Fingers show last night? I thought it was pretty solid, and I was stoked that he played Chumming the Ocean. I love that song. I can tell you where I was the first time I ever heard it...

Not trying to harp on this but the sound last night was great. However, when an engineer for North State tells me it sucks, I'm going to believe it sucks (talking about before)...

^^Saturday night looks pretty amazing (Radiohead, The Shins, Bon Iver, Jeff Mangum, fIREHOSE, Godspeed, SBTRKT, Flying Lotus, Buzzcocks (!), Squeeze, etc.), but the only big acts I'd be interested in the other two nights are Pulp, M83, Mazzy Star, At The Drive-In, and Justice. Can't believe how atrocious Sunday night looks. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg as the headliner? Seriously?

Totally agree with Saturday being the only night worth a damn. You really think the Buzzcocks are would be worth listening to these days?

Dr. Dre is going to be trying to sell Beats headphones the entire time, I guarantee.

As long as they can play "Orgasm Addict" and "Ever Fallen In Love?" without falling over each other (in love), then yeah I think they'd be worth it. I see your point though, there is definitely potential for disaster given their age. There are some nice surprising names in the middle and towards the bottom of each day, but overall Friday and Sunday aren't very impressive.

^CALIFORNIAAAAA KNOWS HOW TO PARTY...the whole weekend is going to be a series of time warps, with Buzzcocks, Squeeze, Madness, etc. and Dre & Snoop on the lineup.

Yeah same here. Too far away, waaaaaay too expensive when you figure flight + hotel/camping + ticket price. Way out of my price range. If I go to a major festival this year it'll be Bonnaroo again.

Here's the lineup:

Looking at it again, I don't have any major issues with that lineup. I still say Saturday's the winner, though...
