i went outlet shopping this past weekend... oh dear

lots of new work clothes, which were badly needed since i wear short sleeved shirts 90% of the time and only had a handful

got a new pair of jeans at lucky. LOVE their jeans, love paying $50 for them instead of $100 even more

got some cute casual stuff at the gap and some new heels at nine west.

totally refreshed my wardrobe after i cleaned out my closet, got a ton of great pieces. i havent really been shopping in over a year so thats prob why i'm so excited

CHI SILK!!!

trust me, i live in houston-- humidity city and chi silk keeps my hair totally under control. doesn't frizz up or get static. a little definitely goes a long way so if you get some, use a tiny bit at a time. i also use bumble & bumble frizz serium. i mix a little of the chi silk and bumble & bumble into my palms and work into wet hair then use a tiny bit of the silk after my hair is dry to secure fly-always and smooth it down

the dryer sheet will make your hair greasy so don't use it near your roots and use it sparingly!

as for your bangs splitting into a part when you try to pull your bangs back.. ALWAYS blow dry your bangs first and dry them into the direction you want them (swooping for example) if you're pulling them straight back, dry your bangs like you're going to wear them down the front of your face. if you tease them a little bit like you would when you're prepping for a poof you'll get more body to the bangs when you pull them back, twist, and pin slightly forward with bobby pins

hopefully that wasnt too confusing

+1 for hippy hair

I hadn't even thought about the implications for travel. Now, instead of an hour, I can shower and be out the door in 20 minutes. It's great. And I didn't have to pack a dryer

Now I'm gonna start aiming for only needing to wash my hair every 8-10 days (right now I'm at 6-8, depending on why I'm considering washing my hair one day as opposed to the next).

I washed it Friday. I'm trying to go til Wednesday (as in, a week from tomorrow), but I have work this Thursday and Friday in a formal setting. My hair will be noticeably grody Friday. What I'm thinking of doing is actually brushing it thursday and friday, and doing some sort of actual hairdo, instead of just a ponytail.

Nerdchick and I can't be the only ones who do this. Halp?

^^ I think Bumble and Bumble makes colored powders that you can use to cut back on the oil around the scalp.

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/ You might know about that already, but it's a good resource for taking care of long hair, and it probably has information about washing less frequently. Back when I grew out my hair it was my resource for conditioner only washing (which made my hair look AMAZING by the way).

ambrosia, what are you trying to achieve by washing your hair every 8-10 days?? i dont think i understand

i wash my hair as needed. lately i've been wearing it curly (which is my natural) which means i have to wash it everyday because the curls dont stay for more than a day before its frizzed and a mess.. no pics on hand since i rarely wear my hear like that

when i straighten it, i can go more days depending on what im doing but by day 3 or 4 my hair is gross. but sometimes its so dirty that i can use hot rollers and get these amazing magazine like curls in my hair... my hair is dirty as fuck but looks awesome... just dont get too close

here is a pic of my dirty but awesome looking hair

Body lase is doing each of these for $50:

* Laser Hair Removal for Underarms
* Crystal Microdermabrasion"

I have been thinking about laser hair removal for awhile, so when I saw this offer I decided that underarms would be a good place to start and $50 is a good deal. Cindy at Bodylase in Cary was really friendly and I was surprised that it didn't hurt at all! A++ experience, already made my next appointment

Don't know if its been posted or not, but shoes are buy 1, get 1 half off at Shoe Carnival. I got some of those new Sperry sandals for like $22, because I needed some new running shoes.

I had my bikini and underarms laser done and it was serious pain!!

but worth every penny!!

took about 5 sessions, but I have very dark hair.

I would recommend doing this because it is so much easier on you in the long run.

I don't know if black people can do it. cause of the dark skin pigment.

It was like zap-pain,,,,zap-pain....zap-pain

it would sting as each hair root was zapped.

Have you guys ever heard of Rue La La?

http://www.ruelala.com

It's this website that has a different "boutique" every 2 days. They have tons of brands on sale for so much cheaper than the store! I got a $89 french connection shirt for $35. Right now they have james jeans for $69!

If you guys want to join the site let me know your email address and I'll send you an invite. It's completely free and you don't have to buy anything!

hmm that is really weird because i really didn't feel a thing until the very end (when the numbness started to go away, they iced me down first). she even increased the strength of the laser and no pain, and i have dark hair. i mean, it wasn't like i felt nothing, i could feel a tiny little pinch like sensation on some spots, but i would say plucking my eyebrows is more painful.

as for how much hair it removed, i really can't tell yet, i just did it yesterday but supposedly the hair will fall out on its own. since i have darker hair/lighter skin i was told i would probably need about 4 sessions. so i will keep you guys updated!

the good thing about bodylase (vs sona med spa, where i looked earlier this year) is that you pay per session, instead of buying a package.

^now I feel jipped, cuase I can handle pain, but seriously that was some of the worst pain in my life. Maybe the new lasers are less painfull. I had mine done over five years ago.

I had my upper lip (unfortunate, I know) done abut 12 years ago, and just had one final treatment done to get a couple strays. I also just got the area between my belly button and my bikini line does. The lip wasn't painful, but the lasers on my stomach were awful. I have a really high pain tolerance, but tears were streaming down my face the whole time.

Results are FANTASTIC though. I'm going to get my underarms done with my next bonus. I now go to Iatria Day/Med Spa in Cary, and I highly recommend it.

wow that bag is nice! i love how that color leather ages. what's the measurements on the bag? i agree with misha, $150 is about the top top amount i can spend on a bag. which i want to invest in something soon. particularly that color of brown, but probably with a crossbody strap. that comes in handy in the city.

one of the interns here at work spent $350 on a marc by marc jacobs bag - it was originally near $500, she had a saks friends and family coupon. she's TWENTY. maybe it's just me, but even if i had the money saved up from work (which she did), i couldn't drop that kind of cash on a bag.

it's cute (cuter in person) but $350? i don't think so.

^^^$75 because of the condition.

I get one really nice bag every two years or so. but I would never get purple since it can get dated really easily. I always go with somewhat conservative and classic. I want one from every big designer eventually.

I have, coach, LV, Furla, dooney burke, and donald j pliner
