so ive been spreading my bankroll around some trying to win some bonus loot

full tilt emailed me, 100% bonus.

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/depositBonusDetails.php

Quote :

anyone done this and know what the partial points are? like could i play .25/.50 and make it eventually?

I dont think it would clear very well at .25/.50 limit, but it does clear quite well in NL because you get 3 pts for every all-in where they rake $3

I play there a lot, it's a quality site

and btw,

"wow.....i hope that was early in a low buy-in tourny"

You would think so, but no. That's why I posted it, because that was exceptionally horrid play in a cash game.

yea i dont wanna play NL with my bankroll

i cleared one at absolute... 200 raked .50 or more ($10 pot) playing 1/2 - and i didnt lose any of my starting cash, actually ended up about 25% ahead.

but i was starting to get away from my goal, which was to play at limits that suited my bankroll. where i can take a few hard beats and still have money left over. so i wanna move back down to the lower levels till i double it up again.

just a matter of how many points i get from a 5 dollar pot vs what i get from a 20 dollar pot. if the proportions match up, i dont mind the time.

Well I had a really nasty hand about 20 min ago for my whole stack and it was so frustrating cause I knew I was so far ahead......

1/2 nl. I was the button.

I was sitting sorta low compared to the table with 112. The guy to my left is ultra agressive. Raised every pot. I am the dealer and get A-10 spades.

6 people in the pot I call
sb raised to 15
everyone calls
I call

Flop: 10 clubs 7 spades 4 spades

SB bets 25 into the pot
one call

I go all in

Both call..........

turn a 5 heart

both check

river a 4 clubs...............

sb checked
the other guy goes all in
sb folds.......

he has k-4 off suit
sb showed he had k-2 spades

I lose my whole stack to trip 4s

I'm half watching while playing half drunk heads up tournies
nevermind, you already busted

Funny story: Titan poker gave me $10 free a while ago for no particular reason. Well I wanted to play a satellite to their 100K for $10.50+$.75 so I took my $10 to a .25/.50 table and went all in n my first hand(with junk) trying to just steal some blinds so I would have the extra $1.25 for the satellite. I got called by someone with like $8 and I lose, so now I'm down to exactly $1.61

Instead of blowing it at that table I shut down the site and forget about it for a couple days. So last night I get half drunk and decide to fuck around with their micro limits, playing somewhat seriously at a .02/.04NL table and getting up to $3.50 or so. Then I take that and play a couple heads up $1 PLO tournies, then a couple $2 ones, then a $5 one. I win all but one of those, and a 6 person $5 PLO SnG tonight, and my current balance is $41.82.

This story will become a lot cooler if I can further parlay this $1.61 into some big MTT cashes.

hey, no need to be sarcastic... you asked and i provided

i would say that about 90% of these places offer gift certificates as prizes.

there are a few that will give out good prizes like chip sets.

if it isnt either of the two above, then it will most likely be some bar logo crap from the place you play at.

but what do the prizes matter if you and your friend are just interested in trying your skill at different opponents?

Well I'd be more interested in a $25 gift certificate to eat at their place than a tshirt. Yes, ultimately it's just for the competition but given the choice then I'd pick a more worthwhile prize even though at this point we aren't that good anyway so it should be a null point.

finished 20 out of the money in the 3500 guaranteed on bodog tonight...

consoled myself by playing 1 heads up sng, and 2 10 person sngs. Won the heads up, and got 1st and 3rd in the 2 full table sngs. I find that I do better when doing 3 things at once, haha.

People play crazy, but that guy had actually played OK most of the way. The way he was check-raising and reraising with a Q showing at the guy said one of three hands: AA6, KK6, or 666. When the 4th 6 came out, it was obvious he had at least 2 pair and most likely trips (quads, who knew)? Not a tough laydown for the guy with QQ, but of course he called through thinking trying to hit his Q which was absolutely no good anyways.

In our local Thursday night game, guy is holding pocket 6s. Flop comes Qxx rainbow. I think it was either checked around or the minimum bet with 3 people in. Turn card is a 6. Guy holding the sixes just randomly says, I love me some sixes. He bets out, gets 1 caller. River, a 6. Checks, the other guy in with him bets out sorta strong. Guy with the quads comes over top big time. Guy that originally bet out look at him for about 20 seconds, finally says, if I fold you gonna show em too me. Guy with the quads shakes his head no in this emphatic "I don't have shit way", and gets the other guy to call him.

In a turn of crazy irony, about 10 hands later, the same guy that got burned by the quad 6s guy was holding a 2 when trip 2s flopped the board. Four people were in the hand after the flop betting it pretty hard, the guy holding the 2 just dragging along. River comes out A, the guy that had been holding the quad 6s thought his boat could win it, and ended up giving most of his money back to the guy he beat earlier.

so i go to this new game and it seems ok, not that bad lots of money no one i know. of course im antsy and its 5 handed so i figure i can play K9o from late after getting a feel for how the game was going, so i raise.

of course i get calls from everyone.

of course i bet the flop hard even tho i missed b/c earlier i saw 8c2c take down a pot.

and of course i find out that i bet into a set of threes after getting called by T3o (not in a blind but if it was, still.... ).

wonder what the rationale behind that call was...pot odds? did they really hope to hit the flop that hard? maybe they wanted to donate to the new guy

note to self, play only groups 1-3 with this bunch and ill be wiping my butt with the crisp $100 bills that were flying around. i do have to say tho, the place was nice...great setup and all...definately will go again

So I left and won a free turney at Browns since i didnt want to mess with any more $$$$...i will be selling a lawn chair since i have no use for it
My 5th hand I get AdAc and get called by K7o; K7o flopped 2 pair, i laugh then the Ace of spades come on the river and im shocked the best hand won lol

another fun one...I go for a steal with Q9o and get called by Axo...I turn and river a str8...ouch by it felt so good

and the best one of all...K2d from the button. i fold b/c K2 (shit to begin with) against people who play Kx like Aces will just bleed chips...unless i hit this flop

FLOP: Kc, Kh, 9something
TURN: Some numbered card I (and below is why i only remembered certain cards)
RIVER: Ks

Ace high took it down. i laugh and pull my hand from the muck. I push down on the throttle and start to swallow chips...i wish it was for real money tho

yeah its late and im rabbling, deal with it

^^^ omg I just laughed so hard.

Inside joke.

Just back from The Borgata WPT series a few hours ago... BAD series for me. I played all 7 prelim events (buy ins from $500 - 2500 for the prelims), and then the $10k main event (I won my entry in a single table $1k satellite for that, but I spent $3,500 playing satellites total for it).

First 5 events, I don't even make the dinner break in any. Then the 6th ($1,500 NL)... I made a strong run but had some of the worst luck I've ever had during a single tourney. We start with 7k in chips, and about 20 minutes in, during the first round, with blinds at 25/50, a fairly loose player raises to 300. I look down to see RED queens. I'm the only caller (don't like committing too many chips preflop early in tourney with this hand). Flop is J23, all hearts, he bets out 500. I'm pretty sure I'm ahead here, and although just calling is an option, I make it 1300. He calls. Turn is a black 7. He checks, I bet 2500. He then check/raises me all in (1700 on top of my bet). We had both lost a few chips, but not many at this point, but I had him covered by 750. At this point, I pretty much HAVE to call... in fact, I do feel I could be, but probably am not ahead here. I can beat AJ (with A of hearts) or KJ (with K of hearts), which are both very likely hands. Unfortunately, he's got me killed with top set (JJ)! I do have 11 outs, but I miss, so I'm down to 750 just like that.

Well, I pay the blinds shortly thereafter, and I pick up AKsuited on the bb next time around. With a few limpers, and a raise in front of me, obviously I push with my miniscule stack. Well, one of the limpers calls, and the original raiser re-raises big. I end up beating his TT in a race, and quadruple up from the dead money in the pot! Back to ~2500. I work it back up to 6000, and then make a bad play where I pretty much bluff off my whole stack except for 1000 when I'm up against top set and drawing dead. Obviously a bad read on my part, heh. Long story short, and I don't even remember how much of it happened, but 20 minutes after I drop to 1000, I'm up to 22,000!!

For the next few hours, I drift between about 15000 and 24000, without ever getting much of a hand... our original table finally breaks, and I'm moved with about 22k. I win a race against a short stack at my new table, and I've now got 27k, the most I've had all tourney... blinds are now 800/1600 with a 200 ante, and I look down from the small blind to see AA for the first time all tourney! It's folded around to the button, who pushes all in with his ~9k! I "think" for 10 sec's or so, and call (hoping for action from the bb, but he's quickly out). He flips up Q9o. Q on the flop, Q on the river. I'm down to 18k.

2 or 3 hands later, our table breaks. This puts us down to 50 players, 27 are paid. New table, one blind revolution in, and I pick up KK for the first time all tourney! I raise to 3600 (my standard raise at this level), and the small blind, who has a seemingly identical stack, pushes all in! I call, he flips up QQ. Flop 6JJ, Q on turn. I'm out.

I had QQ, KK, and AA all once during the day... QQ cracked by JJ, KK by QQ, and AA by Q9. And I still managed to come close to the money, so I felt damn good about my game! So I played the 11pm $300 second chance tourney... 99 players, I chopped up 2nd for $4k I also won some $500 vouchers in both of the $200 "voucher satellites" that I played. They paid 4 $500 vouchers for every 10 entries. I made a deal with a short stack at the final table in one of them, and got 2 vouchers, and in the 2nd one, I got the full 4.

So overall I did GREAT in the low buy in side tournies, but I couldn't catch a break in the big ones.

Oh, so for the main event, I got sat at a table with Jean-Robert Bellande, Nick Shulmann, Erik Siedel, and John Juanda. Everybody was saying it was the toughest table in the tourney. I got practically 0 hands, and managed to leave the table with 15k of my original 25k when it broke about 7 hours in... couldn't ask for much more without ever picking up a hand.

My new table had more donks than I've ever seen at one table in a $500 or $1k tourney, let alone a $10k event!! Unfortunately, I managed to double up early on when I got lucky on a button steal with Q9 following one limper. The flop was 996, and I managed to double up off the guy (he had limped utg with A6o), and it was unbelievably easy getting him to put in his entire stack, even with a 996T3 board, with 3 spades! Unfortunately I made one crucial mistake an hour later when I rivered a straight with T9 on a J2QJ8 board... There was no raise preflop, one limper, and the big blind turned a boat with J2. It was checked to the river, where I bet out 6k (too much, stupid, stupid bet). The bb then reraised to 24k, and I made by far the worst call I've made in a long time. Terrible, terrible call. That put me down to 12k in chips with 600/1200 blinds. And I didn't want to sit around waiting for a hand, and I made a bad mistake attempting a resteal, and that was that.

Overall, -$11k for the trip (close to even in the few side cash games I played, and I lost $1k in casino games )

Oh well, it's been a great year 'til that, so it's back to the regular online tourney + live Vegas tourneys grind
