Can't wait to see Tavares king and Marvin mcnutt suit up at starting wide receiver next season. Gonna be a good one folks

Ok I'm official concerned. Very Concerned. Everybody we draft has to start[Edited on March 14, 2014 at 11:42 AM. Reason : U]

If Nicks would have taken 4.5 per, I would have been happy with that. That's way below market for a potential #1 receiver. Would still prefer we'd have gone after a tackle with that money, but all the good ones are gone and went for way more than we could have afforded anyway. Now we just need to start offering 1 year deals to anyone who'll listen and hope we find someone serviceable.
3/14/2014 11:48:46 AM
Has Nicks signed with anyone yet?
3/14/2014 11:56:40 AM
No, but if we made him an offer and he flew to Indianapolis the next day, that's not a great sign. We probably offered him a third of what he thinks he's worth. [Edited on March 14, 2014 at 11:58 AM. Reason : :]

With our WR core what it is (or isn't at this point), should we go after another TE? There are plenty of good ones in FA right now.Tight Ends1. Jimmy Graham (Franchise Tagged)2. Dennis Pitta (Re-signed five-year, $32M deal with BAL)3. Jermichael Finley4. Brandon Pettigrew (Re-signed four-year, $16M deal with DET)5. Owen Daniels6. Garrett Graham (Re-signed three-year, $11.25M deal with HOU)7. John Carlson (Signed two-year, $4.65M deal with ARZ)8. Brandon Myers (Signed two-year, $4M deal with TB)9. Dustin Keller10. Do we have a kick returner with ginn gone?
3/14/2014 12:30:01 PM
there are about 20 WRs on that list i'd rather sign before Nicks, especially considering he thinks he's worth about 5 times as much as he should get paid.
3/14/2014 12:40:01 PM
I bet we end up with Kenny Britt on the super cheap. Signing another TE that can block might be a good option, considering our line is gonna need all the help it can get.
3/14/2014 12:43:33 PM
no thanks on BrittJones, Sanders, Rice interest me the most as top options I guessfollowed by Williams, Ford (also filling Ginn's shoes), Collie, Simpson as WR2. good as long as we get someone better, but not good if they are signed to be top options in the passing game[Edited on March 14, 2014 at 12:59 PM. Reason : ]
3/14/2014 12:51:04 PM
Sanders would be a good returner as well as a nice wideoutand while I'm not sold on Hester as a WR, didn't he play CB at the U? Wonder if he'd switch positions
3/14/2014 1:02:14 PM
3/14/2014 1:03:03 PM
Sign 1 of these:17. Kenny Britt 18. Miles Austin1 of these:3. Lance Moore27. Austin Collie40. Lavelle Hawkins1 of these:25. Jacoby Ford39. Devin HesterAnd draft 1 of these at 28:Brandin CooksAnd we're better than last year
3/14/2014 1:06:45 PM
If I were the Panthers, I'd roll the dice on a pair of 1 year deals on Nicks & Britt in hopes that at least one has a bounceback year and then drafting a pair of WRs as well. Would've looked at Strief or Penn to plug one of the T spots as well before drafting 1Then again, Gettleman has a pretty good track record while my resume consists exclusively of playing Madden[Edited on March 14, 2014 at 1:08 PM. 3/14/2014 1:07:26 PM
All of my facebook Carolina Panthers fans are really pissed about the Steve Smith thing.
3/14/2014 1:12:40 PM
I am not pissed that he's gone, particularly, just really irritated with how they handled it. You don't treat a player who's given you 13 years like that. You just don't.
3/14/2014 1:20:30 PM
ncstatetke is gonna become a fan of whatever team signs him
3/14/2014 1:21:57 PM
Nah, he's a Bears fan and hates the Panthers
3/14/2014 1:34:29 PM
yes drod, i know that
3/14/2014 1:37:28 PM
The Bears do have a hard on for all our former players...
3/14/2014 1:50:31 PM
how exactly were the panthers supposed to go about cutting smith?have a parade? i mean shit, it's business.
3/14/2014 2:00:21 PM
Smith said he found out about it on the news and not from Gettleman himself. So that could've gone better I guess. There's no great way to do it, but he could've at least let him know personally.
3/14/2014 2:03:50 PM
3/14/2014 2:13:14 PM
buncha girls on my feed like "omg first Peppers, then Beason, now Smith. what about the fans???"
3/14/2014 2:16:15 PM
I would be ecstatic if we signed James Jones[Edited on March 14, 2014 at 2:20 PM. Reason : Britt, too, at the right price]
3/14/2014 2:19:19 PM
Casual NFL fans are totally clueless, they have no idea what a salary cap is. Of course, they are also the only ones dumb enough to spend money on actually going to a game in the HDTV era, so teams have to cater to them.[Edited on March 14, 2014 at 2:20 PM. Reason : :]

3/14/2014 5:09:18 PM
Newton can't throw the ball to himself. I don't think there are any receivers left that would be in the first 15 Panthers players who come to mind.

3/14/2014 8:01:11 PM
we signed TE Mike McNeill, whoever that isPS re-signed Derek Anderson YAY! PPS frustrating to read we're not even seemingly connected to many players, reading through what rumors there are[Edited on March 14, 2014 at 8:07 PM. Reason : loose butthole]
3/14/2014 8:04:29 PM
I think it's just like I always suspected, Gettleman never wanted Nicks. He knows more about him than any GM in the league and probably has good reasons. He signed for so little that there is no way even we couldn't have afforded him if we really wanted him. $3M with incentives up to $4.5M, 1 year. A pittance really. [Edited on March 14, 2014 at 8:12 PM. Reason : worse than i thought]
3/14/2014 8:08:39 PM
The longer we wait to sign free agents, the cheaper they get
3/14/2014 8:09:44 PM
I've always been a fan of that method as opposed to the otherJones and/or Britt and I'm good
3/14/2014 8:24:56 PM
Gettleman was never going to sign anyone this weekHe his plan all along was to wait until the dust settled and bargain shop. Just like last year.
3/14/2014 8:42:57 PM
apparently the Panthers signed Roman Harper to what sounds like a 2-yr deal
3/15/2014 3:30:17 PM
I have no idea what Gettleman is doing.Harper sucks and all panthers fans hate him anyway.
3/15/2014 4:32:39 PM
he won't start
3/15/2014 4:35:40 PM
dammit, emanuel sanders to the broncos. would've liked to see us get him
3/15/2014 9:28:23 PM
can harper play wide receiver?
