Brakks way of hinting at the basketball program getting involved with the investigation?[Edited on September 15, 2010 at 9:57 PM. Reason : .]
9/15/2010 9:56:53 PM
oh please oh please oh please
9/15/2010 10:07:02 PM
Someone suggested it means bball is involved, but Brakk said wrong sport. Apparently Willie Parker is an Octagon client. Chris Hawkins is his 'manager.'
9/15/2010 10:31:02 PM
They might have to give up some wins from when Willie Parker played for UNCexcept he never played, and they won about 2 games a year while he was there, so meh
9/15/2010 10:34:17 PM
are people still listening to these PP characters?there's nothing "biblical" about the last week and i don't see much of anything happening right now either. we're a delusional group of hopeful lunatics, but this is getting ridiculous now.
9/15/2010 11:11:31 PM
RT @AaronAloysius: Sources tell Tony Pauline that the NCAA is in Chapel Hill right now investigating Robert Quinn.
9/15/2010 11:21:59 PM
I'd say now it's kind of death by a thousand cuts while details trickle out. But when the final NCAA report is given, the punishment should be pretty damn severe once you combine academic issues, druggie/agent benefits, recruiting violations, and the list seems to be growing.
9/16/2010 12:14:58 AM
I think this sums it up well:
9/16/2010 12:19:36 AM
you say that sums it up like you know what is actually going on.
9/16/2010 12:26:40 AM
i want the hammer to come down like nobody's business as well, but how do we know these "insiders" on PP aren't just IC plants like we do to them? Cuz i was seriously losing sleep and productivity looking for apocalyptic happenings last week. Im just gonna wait until JPG posts something.
9/16/2010 3:43:21 AM
This thread has been infectedwith AIDS
9/16/2010 4:42:23 AM
I tend to think the PP "insiders" are mostly guessing/speculating. Sort of like how a fortune teller reads your future. Be vague, something's bound to be right, especially considering that every few days or so something new seems to be coming up.Did I mention that I have inside sources? I hear that within the next week something big is going to be announced...
9/16/2010 6:23:30 AM
i'd be willing to bet the house that at least one of those 'insiders' on packpride isn't bullshitting.
9/16/2010 6:34:47 AM
i'm sure there's multiple guys who don't think they're bullshitting.
9/16/2010 7:08:34 AM
9/16/2010 7:23:00 AM
butter fingers being cleared means nothing. we all knew they were going to be using rolling suspensions across the season. strategically taking players out for some games and letting them play others. i'm surprised butch hasn't reinstated the entire team honestly. the entire season will be full of losses or wins(later vacated). for a douche fuck like butch, the second option is a legitimate one.
9/16/2010 7:42:38 AM
Is Draughn the only person back for this week?
9/16/2010 8:44:04 AM
Brakk and WaffleIron have some history of being correct ahead of time if you go bag and slog through the 8012 50-page threads on PP about the investigation, there's a sum-up somewhere near the end of the current thread. I can accept that they have to be vague to some degree to keep them/their source from getting outed. I can also accept that they say something really bad is going down, and then we don't see anything happen in the next few days. The NCAA isn't working on internet time, and they aren't going to publish any findings until they are all done. Doesn't mean that something bad wasn't uncovered. The alleged meaning behind Brakk's 'Octagon' is that someone on the FB team had a parent get a job for a commitment. Similar to the Forte thing. Allegedly.

I was curious on their credibility about this thing (brakk, etc). Here is a summary:

doyel's hate mailhttp://www.cbssports.com/columns/story/13957992/hate-mail-tar-heel-tough-guy-edition
9/16/2010 11:00:15 AM
hahah Doyel's response is pretty good
9/16/2010 11:02:42 AM
9/16/2010 11:22:58 AM
I'm sure he could post some good ones from all the articles where he's bashed us. Glad to see Bill Leslie called out.
9/16/2010 11:35:52 AM
LOL at Doyel ... every once in a while he says something I can agree with.
9/16/2010 11:37:32 AM
Those hate mail and responses are gold.Doyel still looks like a horrible journalist for putting those up and for his responses...but at least they're funny and I like them because they take shots at UNC fans.
9/16/2010 11:41:33 AM
Doyel is paid by CBSSports.com to be a douche bag troll. He has done it to every fanbase. The thing is people hoping he lose his job are the ones helping keep it by responding to it. I wouldn't classify him as a journalist as much as he is a Columnist. He writes an opinion piece for a website and gets paid for it. He is a professional Troll. But his responses were funny to the ones posted.
9/16/2010 11:47:10 AM
I don't normally read his junk, but regardless of his journalistic integrity, the interaction with hate mail here is hilarious.
9/16/2010 11:48:36 AM
nobody's even talking about the fact that the ncaa are back on unc's campus talking to quinn and that he's prolly suspended for good[Edited on September 16, 2010 at 11:53 AM. Reason : and doyel is definitely a professional troll]
9/16/2010 11:53:06 AM
My response from Bill Leslie
9/16/2010 12:21:18 PM
Nah, not really.
9/16/2010 12:23:03 PM
hahaha he trolled all those bitches. My fav:

9/16/2010 12:24:34 PM
But the thing is, there are a lot of facts that have come out and you're right they haven't really said anything about it until ESPN has reported on it.
9/16/2010 12:24:45 PM
HERE'S THE THINGI don't give two shits WHO does the reporting so long as it's reported on.As long as UNC falls into a pit of total despair over this, I couldn't care less if Osama Bin Laden and The Puppy Killing Girl from Overseas conducted the telecast.
9/16/2010 12:29:37 PM
We all know if this was NCSU that WRAL would be all but leading the investigation. See http://message_topic.aspx?topic=562837 for details.
9/16/2010 12:32:10 PM
puppy killing? where? where? I wanna sEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9/16/2010 12:51:08 PM
you moran
9/16/2010 12:53:35 PM
why did you bother to email him in the first place?
9/16/2010 2:00:35 PM
Apparently Chris Hawkins (former UNC DB who bought A.J. Green's jersey and is otherwise involved in the investigation) is facing cocaine trafficking and marijuana possession charges in NC:http://www.wralsportsfan.com/college_football/story/8302352/
9/16/2010 3:54:45 PM
that link is about Georgia and the story was mentioned last page...[Edited on September 16, 2010 at 3:57 PM. Reason : doesn't surprise me that WRAL would be a day behind reporting this....]
9/16/2010 3:56:31 PM
yeah i was gonna mention that it had been posted, but hey, i dont think anyone has a problem with re-emphasizing that the former tarheel player who mysteriously worked on the UNC investigation despite a conflict of interest, is also selling that tony montana for world wide wes and blake and wichard and chancellor thorpok i might be reaching a little bit

Can someone tell me or point me to a quick overview of this whole investigation thing? I havent really been following and dont want to have to read through 74 pages of this thread, haha.
9/16/2010 4:10:29 PM
basically UNC had agents pay players and give them gifts...also a tutor that Butch knew wrote some term papers for athletesbut seriously, if you have 2 hours to kill, this thread is easily Sports Talk thread of the year, hands down...its worth reading if you hate UNC
9/16/2010 4:11:20 PM
thanks. That's pretty much what I had picked up early on, just didnt know if there were any more developments.
9/16/2010 4:14:47 PM
It's 2 pages of real discussion and 72 pages of whishful thinking. But the 2 pages of discussion are scattered amongst all 74 pages. Might not have the same effect reading it now as reading it as the thread developed.
