I was an extra for HBO's John Adams (you can touch me) and you get quite the crowd of people wanting to be extras. Lots of old people and young kids who had parents. Largely comes down to what the director or w/e wants in the shot. The hours sucked, but some people are professional extras, some travel hours and hours to be an extra on a variety of shows, and some just get lucky in audition applications and called in for a few shoots over a few days. With Walkind Dead, the behind the scenes stuff from even season 1 said that they needed skinny people to make the zombies more skeleton-like, so that's what they've been going for all along.

i'd be willing to bet though that the MAJORITY of zombies were the direct result of a bite.
3/14/2013 10:34:54 AM
^^Good point. It could be akin to 28 days later, where after a while the zombies just starve to death and wither away. It has been 2 years since they turned, I think having to run/amble after your food would not only burn a lot of calories, but also keep you from overeating. Also, since zombies tend to group up and wander aimlessly in groups, I wonder if the fat ones just couldn't keep up, or maybe the pack passed through some tight spaces and they got stuck. There also seems to be a fair amount that just lay down and appear dead until food passes by. If they were fat and lazy in real life, maybe they're all fat and lazy zombies who just laid down in the woods waiting for squirrels or humans to fall into their mouths.
3/14/2013 10:57:17 AM
Or maybe Kirkman and the show writers never thought out the mechanics of how their zombies work and just use ZOMBIES!!!!! as a plot device for their soap opera.Don't mind me, still angry about the "everyone becomes a zombie due to an unexplained virus" fact that no one seems to care about.

it seems kinda weird to me that hershel has this full, somewhat unruly beard, whereas rick's is neat and tidy despite the obvious lack of shaving implements. and what about daryl? is he just lacking in hair follicles?
3/14/2013 12:50:45 PM
Obvious lack of shaving implements???
3/14/2013 12:56:10 PM
obvious as in what is revealed to the viewer, not as in what would be available in their world. still though, they could easily show a scene with rick shaving while having a heart to heart with carl or something
3/14/2013 1:05:43 PM
That reminds me of another thing that bothers me. Is Rick constipated? You never see him take a shit. How does this happen?
3/14/2013 1:08:04 PM
^Exactly. What this show suffers from is the lack of hygiene and bodily functions. No one seems to shower, brush their teeth, shave, or cut their hair. In fact the only person that's used the bathroom since the outbreak began is Meryl.Come to think of it, I can't remember a time in this season when anyone in the prison ate something. Also,

3/14/2013 3:19:26 PM
^As far as I see it, Romero never explained it, and Kirkman is following the same rules. He has made some of the greatest zombie flicks ever, and without having to explain the pathology of a fictional virus. Plus, TWD has done more than most of this genre by having Dr. Jenner at the CDC explain how the virus takes over after death.

Sorry. I'm not very good with the emoticons, I forgot the sarcasm one. I was agreeing with TKE-Teg its a little absurd to nitpick a show over a characters shaving habits in the zombie apocalypse.I think Rick should have brought the body of their man they shot during the attack on the prison. The governor is all about having the upper hand and I think that would have rattled him and Andrea some.

wat happened to the bald old lady? she not in the last episode. she get eaten or something?
3/15/2013 2:38:11 AM
i don't remember there being a bald old lady character
3/15/2013 8:50:02 AM
^i think he means Carol. And nothing happened to her, she just wasn't a part of the episode. Beth didn't do anything either other than break up Glens attempt at a fourway.

With 3 episodes left, i think tonight could be set up, next week battle, week after wrap up/set up for season 4. I hope im wrong. I would love another one as good as "clear".
3/17/2013 2:55:53 PM
On a less serious note, who would you rather bwn, Andrea or Maggie? Based on her character, I think Andrea would give you the ride of your life.
3/17/2013 3:01:09 PM
Maggie. Farmer's daughter. No question.
3/17/2013 3:51:34 PM
wonder if this is just a promotional photo, or if its a scene from sometime in the next 3 episodesseems like it would work if there were just walkers around, but it'd be dumb as hell if the Woodbury Army was in play
3/17/2013 4:13:33 PM
here comes Rick's pregame speech on the replay...gonna get me pumped for a probably boring new episode!

this episode sucked ass. Pretty much a waste...nothing happened at all.damn...what a waste of an hour. Coulda skipped this episode and missed absolutely nothing.[Edited on March 17, 2013 at 10:06 PM. Reason : blah]

ain't. shit. happening.
3/17/2013 10:06:34 PM
God I wish they'd just get rid of Andrea. She just seems too stupid/naive to still be alive.
3/17/2013 10:07:46 PM
^^,^^^meh...it didn't have any huge action packed moments, but it continued to setup for the season climaxi love how they didnt show who torched the walkers in the ground and trailer...was it milton? was it Dennis "Cutty" Wise?also will Andrea die in the torture chair? they don't hesitate to kill of main characters...or will she somehow be saved/spared by the governor even though he now fully well knows she isn't on his side anymore?not every episode can be insane crazy shit]
3/17/2013 10:10:00 PM
gotta be milton right who torched the zombies right? that was what i was thinking at least.i do think they'll kill off some characters (probably in the finale instead of next week), but i can't see andrea going -- i think she's got to have her big reconciliation with the group. unless the actress wants off the show or something, haha.
3/17/2013 11:57:03 PM
Is Andrea deaf?If not, I don't know how to explain all the walkers sneaking up on her when she was hiding from the truck. Nor could I explain how the governor was able to follow her for (miles? hundreds of yards?), to within an arms length in dry brush and woods. It was a good call for it to be Rick who thinks he saw something, given his previous delusions.
3/18/2013 6:48:44 AM
^^^My guess would be Milton sees her in there and lets her out. It wouldn't fit the character for the Governor to let her go and Milton is the only person who knows about that room that would say or do anything against him. The Governor probably kills him for it seeing how he already probably suspects him as the one who torched the zombie pit. That lets Andrea get out and probably successfully make it back to the prison to warn them.
3/18/2013 7:15:19 AM
Only one of his top level executives would know where they keep the gasoline. It was Milton, and the gov. knows it as well.Although, if I were the gov, I'd learn from the torched walkers. Most of them were still pretty hungry after being torched. He should set them on fire just after letting them go inside the prison compound. You wouldn't be able to get close enough for knifing the zombies, and they'd probably be viable long enough for whatever battle he has planned.
3/18/2013 7:23:12 AM
Was the comic book still actively being published when the show came out? Or did they start publishing again after the show got popular?
3/18/2013 7:32:17 AM
It is/was definitely still actively being published
3/18/2013 8:33:09 AM
this show is the ultimate "well that was ok, but NEXT week's should be awesome" showthat's a problem when those episodes make up the majority of your season
3/18/2013 9:59:34 AM
I thought last night's episode was pretty good
3/18/2013 10:15:35 AM
This episode was basically Andrea walking through the woods and playing hide-and-seek with the psycho cyclops.
3/18/2013 10:17:53 AM
3/18/2013 10:26:39 AM
Where are the getting all of these cool jackets?I did like that they played up some of the horror/tension of the governor: the creepy whistling, the inability of escape, the axe shovel crazy. Is this whistling a new thing with him? I don't remember him doing it in the past.
3/18/2013 10:31:10 AM
This episode is the first I've seen of the whistling (I think) and I just started watching this show about a month ago (starting from the beginning), so my memory would have to be terrible if I'm wrong.I almost feel like this episode was kind of like, "Hmmm, viewers would be really stupid to believe that Rick is actually considering giving Michone up, maybe if we dedicate an episode to how important it is for Andrea to warn them that there's no deal they'll kind of forget that this is a no-brainer..."
