also, he'll have a real QB throwing to him. not some fag
12/10/2009 11:41:17 PM
the fact that they think some dude named "Bryn" is their savior says it all
12/11/2009 12:14:36 AM
looks like we have some more scholarships opening upMorgan, Bowens and Ruiz have been kicked off the team apparently
12/11/2009 11:57:43 PM
whaaaaaat?
12/12/2009 12:03:03 AM
feel bad for bowens but morgan can't tackle and ruiz can't kick so I'm not too upset
12/12/2009 12:05:47 AM
12/12/2009 12:17:03 AM
Ehh Morgan's a waste, Bowens will never be the same as pre-injury and Ruiz rugby punts were figured out.
12/12/2009 12:27:46 AM
nothing official has been posted about this yet
12/12/2009 12:58:06 AM
What do you guy's think of our class so far? What positions should we try to fill our last spots with and who would you like to fill them with. It seems like we'd like to get a RB, either James White or Mustafa Greene. I'd be happy with either one.
12/12/2009 2:35:42 AM
Honestly - I'm excited about every player we have in the class except maybe Rich. Rich seems like a project, especially based off of film I saw on Pack Pride yesterday. If we could get another CB like AJ Marshall, I'd be pumped.

We landed a DE transfer from Northeastern... David Akinniyi
12/13/2009 6:12:44 PM
just to follow up ^scout.com says NC State has landed a commitment from Northeastern (MA) defensive end David Akinniyi who elected to transfer to the ACC school after taking an official visit over the weekend.
12/13/2009 6:28:29 PM
doesn't have to sit out a year because northeastern is discontinuing its football program
12/13/2009 6:28:53 PM
oops i meant to put this from rivals
12/13/2009 6:31:24 PM
Wilkins taking an official to UNC
12/13/2009 7:00:58 PM
^the dude who just decommited from unc to commit to us is taking an official visit to unc?
12/13/2009 7:12:14 PM
Butch probably sent him pictures of the girls he could bang on his official visit.[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 7:24 PM. Reason : .]
12/13/2009 7:23:50 PM
Wilkins mentions that he never totally took UNX out of the picture, just that he had to reschedule due to SAT/ACT stuff and he liked State on his unofficial so much he switched commitments (that's when we beat them). He's also got an official scheduled for Louisville and said..
12/13/2009 11:51:36 PM
gd high schoolers
12/13/2009 11:56:12 PM
Hopefully he's just doing this to get some free visits to some other colleges and have the full experience. I doubt he goes back to UNC after quickly turning to State after decomitting from them, but I don't know. Also Louisville is in a coaching transition so I'm sure how much he'd really want to go to a team in major transition.
12/14/2009 2:55:09 AM
anyone with a scout account care to post more about
12/14/2009 1:43:39 PM
We're his leader - wants to decide before Christmas.Coaches putting on the hard sell - "need to commit because spots are running out"
12/14/2009 1:45:21 PM
12/14/2009 6:29:43 PM
If that guy can actually catch and run at all, a 6'8 255 lb TE would be disgusting
12/15/2009 2:48:15 AM
i'd bet he runs a good sub 5.0 40 and if he put 50 more lbs on over the course of 2-3 years, he'd be a nasty tackle too.
12/15/2009 3:15:33 AM
Mikel Overgaard, JuCo OT with 2 to play 2, has probably committed
12/15/2009 12:13:45 PM
got 'em
12/15/2009 2:28:10 PM
Doesn't West Point have a 6'10" TE?
12/15/2009 2:31:16 PM
Rivals currently has us at #24 in their team rankings. With the Overgaard (what a fitting name for an o-lineman) commitment we have 18 commits and look to be adding more. It'd be great to add either James White or Mustafa Greene. Both are very good RBs.Mikel OvergaardOffensive tackleEphraim, UtahSnow CollegeHt:6'7"Wt:270 lbsSchools InterestedNorth Carolina StateMiddle Tennessee StateNew Mexico Southern IllinoisSouthern UtahOvergaard was originally at Washington State as a preferred walk-on. He went to a small school in Idaho and was overlooked as a result. His town only had about 5,000 people in it. Coming out of HS he only had a few offers from smaller schools. He transferred down to Snow College a JuCo to gain experience and the coaches there switched him from a TE to OT due to his excellent footwork, frame, and blocking. Snow College finished the season 9-2 and ranked in the top 10 nationally among JUCO programs. It's the same JUCO that the staff got Paul Peterson when they were at BC. Overgaard has a 3.8 GPA so he'll be good to go and should enroll in January.

^i think that poster is confused.......the only Rob Fronk in the database is a Post Grad TE from Hargrave....not a JC

there's a 2007 youtube video of a rob fronk from apex http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrK7AuY83o4[Edited on December 15, 2009 at 3:58 PM. Reason : and apparently he did prep at Hargrave]

Hell yeah to a huge ass O-Line!!! Russell will have more time to look down field instead of running for his life this past season! Keep it up O'brien and company keep reeling them fuckers in!!!

Andy Jomantas just committed. We are either going to use him as an OT or a TE from what I've heard.Offensive tackleDayton, OhioChaminade-JulienneHt: 6'7"Wt: 255 lbsForty: 5.0 secsSchools Interested (known offers in italics)North Carolina StateKansasBall StateAkronBowling GreenCentral Michigan CincinnatiConnecticutIndianaMarylandMichigan StateOhio State

it feels like we have taken a shitload of high school OT's with these 2 most recent classes
12/18/2009 10:53:42 PM
I've heard that O'Brien likes to have at least 18 or more scholarship o-linemen on the roster.
12/18/2009 10:54:38 PM
i think its 16 which with this guys commitment, puts us right there.who knows but at least he recruits them unlike chuckles
12/18/2009 11:16:25 PM
Does anybody know anything on the running backs James White and Mustafa Greene? I hope we land one of them. The Shrine Bowl will be broadcasted on ESPNU three times over the next month and Greene will be in it. He'll probably be second on the depth chart after Lattimore though, who's one of if not the top RBs in the nation.
12/18/2009 11:53:51 PM
Overgaard got evaluated on Rivals as a 3* prospect. That bumped us up to #21 on their team rankings. We're currently third in the ACC according to their rankings (FSU #12 and Miami #15) and just ahead of Clemson who is ranked #22. The Tigers have 20 commits to our 18, well 19 once they add in Jomantas who will probably be a 2* prospect.
12/19/2009 1:35:07 AM
I know we're top 2 for both of them. I think White is supposed to be a slight Wisconsin lean right now, while we're expected to get Greene?
12/19/2009 2:09:23 AM
we're neck and neck with rutgers for greene (has family up there), with some other schools trying to get into the game late
12/19/2009 2:38:26 AM
Our non-conference schedule for 2010 is looking wicked!! Cincinnati...ECU, Central Florida...whose our 4th non conference opponent?? About time we stop playing two cupcakes in the con conference schedule!
12/21/2009 6:27:09 PM
^cincinatti isn't gonna be NEARLY as good as they were this year i don't believe.......don't they lose something crazy like 15 or 16 starters off of this years team?
12/21/2009 6:30:35 PM
I believe so. I remember one of their players saying that all of the seniors would carry them to a bowl game victory when their coach got hired by ND.
12/21/2009 6:44:29 PM
just looked at the first post of this thread, and found this golden gem.
