wtf. wral.com says wintry mix tonight with little to no accumulation. Weather.com and NOAA calling for anywhere from 5-12 inches.
2/25/2015 8:42:06 AM
they fucked up and put the fayetteville forecast under raleigh
2/25/2015 8:45:06 AM
I see 3-8" on WRAL now

Holy fuck 264 sucked ass. Tons of wrecks, thin sheet of ice, lots of traffic. Twas a bit squirrely getting to work this morning. Also fishtailed at 60 MPH on a 440 bridge this morning. FTS. I regret coming to work.
2/25/2015 8:48:13 AM
264 was fine when i drove in... but that was at 6:30
2/25/2015 8:57:11 AM
I left at 730 and it was nothing but a thin sheet of ice with people spinning out, fish tailing, and sliding.
2/25/2015 9:01:44 AM
Glenwood and 540 were fine. The ramp from 540 to aviation was closed though
2/25/2015 9:01:58 AM
60 mph on wet roads in below freezing weather. What could go wrong?Good grief
2/25/2015 9:10:38 AM
Was thinking about driving across town to Wake Forest for work. Came in here and read everyone's experiences on the roads this morning; decided to sit my ass right here and not go anywhere. Thanks guys
2/25/2015 9:10:51 AM
147 is also okay for anyone needing to get to Durham.
2/25/2015 9:11:14 AM
I am mostly concerned about the stretch of road on 54 between Weston parkway and Morrisville-Carpenter. I slid out on that hill last year and there is literally no where to go but into incoming traffic if that occurs again. I'm a terrible driver on a hot summer day ugh job why you make me go into work
2/25/2015 9:13:12 AM
Made it down US1 this morning at 6:30 with no trouble. A few patches on/under bridges. Roads were much worse going home last night.
2/25/2015 9:27:51 AM
NWS says 7.7 inch
2/25/2015 9:29:48 AM
Snow, with ice on top, with rain and then ice on top of thatShould make for an interesting consistency.

Is Wral trying to lose credibility or on the slight chance it busts they can yell "we called it!"
2/25/2015 9:46:14 AM
^^ that's the kind of whiny bullshit my job needs to serve me crap that gets you no where in life [Edited on February 25, 2015 at 9:47 AM. Reason : .]

Wral is sticking to their in house model, which is fucking terrible
2/25/2015 9:57:33 AM
NOAA is even saying 5-9"' for my area, and typically NOAA is conservative.
2/25/2015 10:05:09 AM
2/25/2015 10:17:16 AM
WRAL saying 4-6" with some places receiving a footCovering ALL the bases
2/25/2015 10:23:31 AM
This morning WRAL basically said 1-8" inches for some areas. Why not just say it might do something if you are so worried about getting hung with the prediction?

it's 40 degrees and sunny, it's safe to drive the speed limit now
2/25/2015 12:26:57 PM
Amen to that. People going 50 mph on I-40 at 10am this morning...sigh.
2/25/2015 12:37:45 PM
Predicting winter weather in this area has to be one of the most frustrating parts of being a met. So many variables to consider that trying to be accurate on accumulation is nearly impossible. I dont blame them for saying hey its gonna snow but it will be anywhere between 1 and 12 inches depending on your locale and how the system sets up. Especially with temps hovering just around freezing for most of the event.
2/25/2015 12:38:17 PM
keep me updated with the temperature change. want to leave work well ahead of freezing tempslooks like wral doesn't even show freezing temps today[Edited on February 25, 2015 at 12:44 PM. Reason : .]

2/25/2015 12:46:21 PM
WRAL says the snow starts after dark
2/25/2015 12:47:28 PM

2/25/2015 1:27:29 PM
Since you didn't tell us, I'm making an assumption since 95% of people work 8-6ish. Don't be a prick

Hopefully this bullshit doesn't pick up any momentum before I get out of class tonight at 9pm. Doesn't look like it will though but who really knows. [Edited on February 25, 2015 at 2:06 PM. Reason : :-]
