shadowrunner, a store in california had heady?
12/6/2012 9:54:59 AM
no, nobody sells heady except the Alchemist and the surrounding small towns around Burlington, VT, so unlikely... although it sounded like he bought it at the store.[Edited on December 6, 2012 at 11:40 AM. Reason : .]
12/6/2012 11:39:49 AM
i didn't think anywhere but super local to the alchemist sold it eitheri wondering if some store in CA was having it privately shipped there and then putting it on the floor, which would be super interesting.[Edited on December 6, 2012 at 11:49 AM. Reason : e]
12/6/2012 11:47:04 AM
and illegal
12/6/2012 11:56:15 AM
that's what i was implying by "super interesting"
12/6/2012 11:57:30 AM
Yes, it was one of those "super interesting" situations. Guy at the store saw how much I had in my cart and asked if there was anything I was looking for that wasn't out on the floor, volunteered that he had some Heady Topper, and the rest was history.
12/6/2012 2:29:32 PM
that's a store i'd go back to! lol.

Got a bottle of Silent Night in hand A coworker went to Sam's and picked up one for me a minute ago.
12/6/2012 4:44:36 PM
This mint Chocolate collab is pretty awesome...
12/6/2012 5:27:34 PM
Son of a bitch, Bottle Rev apparently sold out of Silent Night already
12/6/2012 6:54:43 PM
^ Crap. I was able to get it several days after it came out at Sam's last year. Maybe, it has more buzz this year though. On another note, I'm really enjoying this Tank 7 from Boulevard. So much so that I can't drive over to Sam's and pick up the Silent Night.
12/6/2012 6:57:33 PM
What Sams are you talking about?
12/6/2012 6:58:51 PM
sams quik shop in durham
12/6/2012 6:59:45 PM
ah gotcha, never been there before, thought you were talking about Sams Club for a sec

Silent Night will be back out. the $18-20 price tag will scare a lot of people after the initial rush. you should be able to find it if you keep looking. We have a great beer selection at my local HT here in Charlotte and 11 Silent Night sat on the bomber rack for months. Just keep an eye out, also check out Total Wine, they usually have a good selection of Mother Earth. I'm heading up to Foothills tonight for the Olde Rabbit's Foot release. anyone else getting in on that? will be nice to see Restricted in the flesh again.

brought a solid lineup back from the weekendOlde Rabbit's Foot x 4Mother Earth Silent NightAvec Les Bons Vœux de la Brasserie DupontThe Bruery 5 Golden RingsSmuttynose Zinnekecrap, and one more good one from Bestway but I can't remember what it was.ORF release was a good time. Though I think I no longer see the need to get out there any earlier than 7:30-8am. This was a quiet release, we were 86,87 in line having gotten there around 6:50am. Shared good company at a table waiting for the bottles to be released. got to enjoy good pours of Heady Topper and Marshal Zhukov RIS. both beers standing up to their reputation if not going beyond. ]

does anyone happen to use these Glencairn scotch tasting glasses for beer tastings?thinking about ordering some to gift to myself and for a friend.
12/10/2012 4:48:06 PM
i just use my collectible snifters for large tastings, my wife would kill me if i had special glasses for tastings... lol
12/10/2012 4:51:41 PM
yeah, a set of 4 is only $20. I may gift them to my GF's best male friend. he's starting to get into craft beer and is already a fan of higher end bourbon and whiskey.
12/10/2012 4:59:44 PM
^ Isn't he the one she gave a bunch of your good beers to? No wonder he's getting into craft beer.

what's everyone's thoughts on Bruery Oude Tart? I had been avoiding buying it at the $20 price tag most Bruery beers start off with. but when i was in TW today for the Westy 12 purchase i noticed they had a lot of them marked down to $10 so i picked one up.
12/12/2012 11:44:07 AM
for $10 i'd have bought all they hadi drank a bottle on halloween and liked it, but for $25 that i paid a RS member, i'd have rather just gotten sang noir.but seriously, i need to stop comparing how much i like different sours to how much i liked sang noir, at that price point.[Edited on December 12, 2012 at 12:03 PM. Reason : allegedly it ages great too, but i have no experience]i mean it's not outstanding, but worth a try for $10 especially. [Edited on December 12, 2012 at 12:04 PM. Reason : e]give the opportunity again, i should have spent that $25 on most of two four packs of jacobins rouge.[Edited on December 12, 2012 at 12:10 PM. Reason : e]

I got my Westy 12. Went to one place and found it, then tried to hit up a second place, only to hear that it sold out 5-10 mins after they opened. But at least I got one.

Had a social after work tonight. Enjoyed a Cold Mountain and a Founders Breakfast Stout. Always good.

this years Terrapin So Fresh, So Green may have taken the top spot for Fresh/Wet Hop ales this season. It surpasses SN Estate which is itself an amazing beer. But i've come to realize that Citra hops are what I like the most. what are some other great Citra hop forward beers out there?
