no, nobody sells heady except the Alchemist and the surrounding small towns around Burlington, VT, so unlikely... although it sounded like he bought it at the store.

i didn't think anywhere but super local to the alchemist sold it either

i wondering if some store in CA was having it privately shipped there and then putting it on the floor, which would be super interesting.

Yes, it was one of those "super interesting" situations. Guy at the store saw how much I had in my cart and asked if there was anything I was looking for that wasn't out on the floor, volunteered that he had some Heady Topper, and the rest was history.

^ Crap. I was able to get it several days after it came out at Sam's last year. Maybe, it has more buzz this year though.

On another note, I'm really enjoying this Tank 7 from Boulevard. So much so that I can't drive over to Sam's and pick up the Silent Night.

Silent Night will be back out. the $18-20 price tag will scare a lot of people after the initial rush. you should be able to find it if you keep looking. We have a great beer selection at my local HT here in Charlotte and 11 Silent Night sat on the bomber rack for months. Just keep an eye out, also check out Total Wine, they usually have a good selection of Mother Earth.

I'm heading up to Foothills tonight for the Olde Rabbit's Foot release. anyone else getting in on that? will be nice to see Restricted in the flesh again.

Tasty Bev still had some Silent Night in stock as of a little after noon today

Finished my father in laws "Christmas tasting gift basket":

Mother Earth Silent Night
Terrapin Liquid Bliss
Boulevard Tank 7
Bruery 5 Golden Rings
Dogfish Bitches Brew

I am starting to think that I should just get him a tie and keep the beers for myself

brought a solid lineup back from the weekend

Olde Rabbit's Foot x 4
Mother Earth Silent Night
Avec Les Bons Vœux de la Brasserie Dupont
The Bruery 5 Golden Rings
Smuttynose Zinneke

crap, and one more good one from Bestway but I can't remember what it was.

ORF release was a good time. Though I think I no longer see the need to get out there any earlier than 7:30-8am. This was a quiet release, we were 86,87 in line having gotten there around 6:50am.

Shared good company at a table waiting for the bottles to be released. got to enjoy good pours of Heady Topper and Marshal Zhukov RIS. both beers standing up to their reputation if not going beyond.

yeah, a set of 4 is only $20. I may gift them to my GF's best male friend. he's starting to get into craft beer and is already a fan of higher end bourbon and whiskey.

not a bad intro to the product line. first i've seen of any of their beers on tap or available yet, here in texas.

figured it'd be 312, honkers, the ipa or some shit to show up first

what's everyone's thoughts on Bruery Oude Tart? I had been avoiding buying it at the $20 price tag most Bruery beers start off with. but when i was in TW today for the Westy 12 purchase i noticed they had a lot of them marked down to $10 so i picked one up.

for $10 i'd have bought all they had

i drank a bottle on halloween and liked it, but for $25 that i paid a RS member, i'd have rather just gotten sang noir.

but seriously, i need to stop comparing how much i like different sours to how much i liked sang noir, at that price point.

[Edited on December 12, 2012 at 12:03 PM. Reason : allegedly it ages great too, but i have no experience]

i mean it's not outstanding, but worth a try for $10 especially.

[Edited on December 12, 2012 at 12:04 PM. Reason : e]

give the opportunity again, i should have spent that $25 on most of two four packs of jacobins rouge.

thought it was great except for the price, i too paid $23, so i think at $10 you got a steal. thoroughly enjoyed it. most definitely better with age.

so who all got a Westy 12 box?

i won't know til Friday, my local store (1 of only 4 in CO) is doing it lottery style.

I got my Westy 12. Went to one place and found it, then tried to hit up a second place, only to hear that it sold out 5-10 mins after they opened. But at least I got one.

still pint night, but since the semester is (mostly) over, it should be less crowded than it is most of the year

hit or miss, though...could still be packed

this years Terrapin So Fresh, So Green may have taken the top spot for Fresh/Wet Hop ales this season. It surpasses SN Estate which is itself an amazing beer. But i've come to realize that Citra hops are what I like the most. what are some other great Citra hop forward beers out there?

same font used in pulp fiction.

just uses white lettering instead of translucent, and since it's not a brown wallet, i'll allow it.
