^ holy shitI can not believe they photographed all that. I would have been trying to get behind something that could stop a stray shot.
4/23/2013 1:51:33 AM
we know the terrorists killed four people, the police one. who came out on top in property damage though?
4/23/2013 5:04:12 AM

I think it's vague enough that he used an educated guess and got lucky[Edited on April 23, 2013 at 7:31 AM. Reason : An]
4/23/2013 7:29:36 AM
they've said he used reloading powder and had firearms and an NRA book in his home?
4/23/2013 7:30:54 AM
It's spot on if you read one sentence. Male caught Friday. Nothing else is at all what's being reported.[Edited on April 23, 2013 at 7:37 AM. Reason : And if they couldn't pass Manchin-Toomey, that surely won't]
4/23/2013 7:35:56 AM
yeah i haven't read anything about an nra book either. but the rest is pretty accurate isn't it?i haven't heard any official reports on what the actual fuel was for the device though it very well could be what it was though I think radiator quick patch powdered aluminum would probably be a better choice for a bomb, though more expensive.i guess the only thing unsettling is that he guessed the day right. the rest could be pretty "usual suspects" type stuff and guessing some dipshit senator would capitalize on it as a way to attack the second amendment is far from a long shot.
4/23/2013 7:43:37 AM
Did anyone really think this was women? Or that they were in their 30s or 40s? Isn't this really just playing on the fact that these crimes which are usually committed by men in this demographic? The only exception seems to be when it's a well-orchestrated plan, like the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 or Oklahoma City.
4/23/2013 7:44:45 AM
no i don't think anyone for a second thought it was a woman or anyone older than 30women dont need to do things for themselves and anyone older than thirty pretty much has their crazy period behind them outside of mental instability/islam
4/23/2013 7:51:36 AM
Pissed off young adult male commits act of terrorism?!?!?Holy shit, that guy's a fucking sage!
4/23/2013 7:52:51 AM
i don't recall there being the same consensus before they actually found them.I do recall hundreds of posts decrying the outrageous insensitivity of assuming that though
4/23/2013 7:56:00 AM
For all the crap that is posted online that turns out to be way off not surprising that some bs randomly hits the mark.
4/23/2013 7:57:22 AM
Unabomber and Rudolph were older than 30 I believe. But yeah, you can say male, late teens/early 20s and be right 90% if the time in these cases.
4/23/2013 8:00:11 AM
Identity of the guy who "predicted" it would be a late teen/early 20's guy revealed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx0Jt2jnLOQ
4/23/2013 8:40:29 AM
that guy knew exactly shit...the fact that anyone gives him credit for anything more than being able to post to a message board on teh intarwebs is surprising
4/23/2013 8:48:59 AM
So I never heard all the news stations breaking the fact Glenn Beck took down Obama yesterday. Did I just miss it?
4/23/2013 9:37:34 AM
fucki miss everything
4/23/2013 10:13:28 AM
LOL @ the irony... internets people discrediting other internets people.
4/23/2013 10:42:54 AM
bombing civilians in the street = defending islamlmao, what a fucking joke rationale.

It's the same reason why people destroy Obama for not calling Ft Hood "terrorism."Post-9/11, in America, if a brown person or Muslim does it, it's a terror attack. If a white or black person does it, it's simply violent crime or mass murder.
4/23/2013 5:06:03 PM
ehhhh, not so much.not in my view at least.Looking back the OKC bombing would def. be terrorism and he was white. To elaborate on that, I think it has to do with the weapons used and the setting.A bomb or IED is terrorism to me. A gunman on a rampage is less terrorism because that happens a lot more on a daily basis. People get shot every day but how many times in America does someone bomb someone or something?really depends on the medium.[Edited on April 23, 2013 at 5:49 PM. Reason : f]
4/23/2013 5:45:42 PM
"Terrorism" has nothing to do with the medium that's used.

4/23/2013 7:43:09 PM
Just to be clear, my post wasn't talking about the legal definition of the word but rather the social perception held by a majority of people here.
4/23/2013 7:49:21 PM
There is a disconnect between the social perception and legal definition, but I thought it was a good read. It made me change my perception.
4/23/2013 8:25:25 PM
But I thought terrorism was only done by brown people!
4/23/2013 8:42:07 PM
lol is there really this much to discuss concerning these events?
4/23/2013 8:43:22 PM
They should put Mustard Jar and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in an octagon fight, but give Mustard Jar a knife to even it out. My money is on Dzhokhar because he can get shot up and bleed for a full day and survive only to get shot up some more and deafened by flash bangs and still pull himself enough to fall off the boat.
4/23/2013 8:48:24 PM
dang the author of the blog took down the pics of the shootoutEDIT: leave it to cnn to jack the pictures and post them. http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/23/us/gallery/boston-bombing-shootout/index.html?hpt=hp_t2[Edited on April 23, 2013 at 9:30 PM. Reason : e]

If there's more than one person involved, and there's an attempt to inflict mass casualties, I wouldn't even hesitate to call it terrorism... When its a single person, the reasoning and modality play a part in what I would consider terrorism versus some crazy person. However, they're all sick fucks at the end of the day, so who cares what you call it.
4/23/2013 11:07:36 PM
^what about Columbine? there were multiple shooters then, but I don't think you could reasonably call what happened there "terrorism."for me, terrorism = people who are angry for political/religious reasons killing a bunch of innocents to show how angry/serious they are the political/religious beliefs are the defining trait[Edited on April 23, 2013 at 11:15 PM. Still can't believe that this dude set off the bombs, and then went back to his campus/dorm life. I guess he just enjoyed everybody talking about his work.

Haven't seen this posted here, authorities are investigating whether Tamerlan may have been involved in the 2011 Waltham murders http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/23/us/boston-area-homicide-investigation/index.html
4/24/2013 12:03:07 AM
Tamerlan sounds like an all around swell guy. If I was his wife's parents, I would trick her in to accepting his body, have it cremated, then flush the ashes down the shitter and post the vid on YouTube.
4/24/2013 12:12:24 AM
Boston globe said older bro was on welfare until 2012.
4/24/2013 8:45:16 AM
Sounding more like these two had ZERO ties to a legitimate terrorist group.Younger bro is not your normal Islamic radical terrorist. He drank, partied, sold weed for money, etc.
4/24/2013 8:59:56 AM
I hate to beat a dead horse here, but I think this will turn out to be another example of the continuing problem of media driven violence. We have seen this escalating over the past few years and I think it is only going to get worse. Now with social media and such these guys became the most famous kids on the planet within minutes of their pictures coming out. This is not going to discourage kids in the future of wanting that same fame and doing shit like this for no real reason other than to see if they can pull it off.
4/24/2013 9:16:46 AM
^^^^^Wow. What if it turns out the younger bro knew his older brother was a murderer, and the older brother threatened to kill the younger brother if he didn't place the explosive bag down?Pretty crazy story...If Tamerlan was generally insane and psychopathic, even if he thought he was defending Islam in this case, I don't think this would really count as terrorism.
4/24/2013 9:25:56 AM
There are reports he radicalized himself with 9/11 inside job conspiracies
4/24/2013 9:33:50 AM
The biggest joke is calling pressure cookers WMDs. That term has been specifically reserved for nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. If a pressure cooker is a WMD, that means from now on any kind of IED and even grenades will be called WMDs? Would they still call it a WMD if he was a WASP named Tom Jones?Anyway, if he really did it, and if really claims that he did it to "defend Islam", that's fucked up. What the fuck kind of defending is that? What he means is "tarnish Islam".Regardless of weapon used and regardless of motive, anybody who kills innocent civilians in that way should be executed. So if it can be proved that he did it willingly, execute him.
4/24/2013 9:34:05 AM
@glennbeck: At 10:06am ET, the hammer drops. NO THEORIES. WE READ THE ACTUAL EVIDENCE http://t.co/widfjnERZA WGWait, I thought the hammer already dropped but it was more like a feather. How is he still clinging to the Saudi kid? Is he that desperate?Anyway, his larger point that we sometimes bend over backwards for oil isn't thought provoking or new. It's been well known for 40 years!
4/24/2013 9:35:29 AM
^^ A sawed off shotgun is considered a WMD.....
4/24/2013 9:38:11 AM
^^^SEE THERE WERE WMDS IN IRAQ. DUHmissionaccomplished.jpgIts just the term dictated by the actual statute. I don't necessarily agree with the terminology, but the intent was to inflict mass casualties. What else would you call it[Edited on April 24, 2013 at 10:18 AM. Reason : .]
