He lost me at: "First of all, it's illegal. Second of all, you can't do it" which are both 100% wrong.

I thought The Donald would fall in line, but it appears he has no interest in doing that any time soon. He tired a couple times, and I guess the suit didn't fit. You just gotta do you Drumpf.

I must admit it is fun to watch the GOP collapse. Sadly, there is no good outcome to this election. Hillary is a neoliberal corporatist who will only strengthen the Oligarchy and likely lead us into more war.

He might be right about his second comment. Logistically, there is no way the republicans select another candidate without splintering the party more than it already has. This will just enrage the tea partiers even more.

The Republicans have to accept the defeat (even if Trump wins), and focus on congress. Losing congress would be a bigger blow than either four years of Clinton/Trump.

They need to go along with Trump, but support Hillary under the radar. It will be easy for the Republicans in Congress to go against Hillary on things with which they don't agree. They will have a harder time bucking against what Trump wants if they don't agree.

The only problem with Hillary support is essentially losing the judicial branch for the next 20 or 30 years. And that is big. That is just about the only thing that has kept me going all in for Hillary.

^^^when a solid half of your new additions to the party platform start with the question "how can we punish LGBTQ more," well, it's at that point where you might need to consider that you are completely bankrupt for ideas in respect to governing.

Not so fast. After Orlando Trump said he was a friend of the gays.

Jesus Christ, is that platform real? FFS, the GOP is moving so far backwards it is utterly incomprehensible.

I guess I didn't realize how much the nominee gets to drive these things. This is gonna be quite the shitshow, especially if there are challenges to his nomination. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/14/us/politics/republican-convention-speakers-donald-trump.html

another report:
Quote :
"SPEAKERS
Confirmed speakers throughout the week include Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who is a delegate; former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani; Trump's vanquished primary rival Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas; Dr. Ben Carson, another former rival; former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee; and House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, who will discuss the House Republican agenda and party unity. Non-politicians, including former underwear model Antonio Sabàto Jr. and college football star Tim Tebow, are also set to appear, according to multiple reports."

How do they square Obama being weak on terror when after 8 years of abject failure by his Republican predecessor, it was actually him and Hillary that killed bin Laden and crippled his organization?

Giuliani was cringeworthy, but his speech was substantially more tame than the others.

Clearly said most Muslims aren't the enemy and bad cops should be punished. Otherwise was just empty platitudes.

I didn't really pay attention back then but what is it mainstream to publicly yell about putting Bush or Cheney in prison for war crimes? I know it was certainly said but was it basically part of the Democrat platform?

If/when Clinton wins the blow back is going to be far worse than it was for a black guy winning last time.

Conventions usually have some sort of uplifting, optimistic message about the candidate and the future but I haven't seen it so far this week. I don't recall anything approaching the constant, speaker-after-speaker, in your face negativity. It's been one giant screed against Hillary.

I agree completely that the Republican reaction to Clinton being elected will be a horror show.

Watching the RNC doesn't feel much different from watching a plain clothes KKK rally this year. It is obvious the level of fear these people have when it comes to the changing demographics of America. Aside from rampant anti-intellectualism that dominates much of Trump's base, this is at the heart of it.

Quote :
"An adviser to Donald Trump on veterans issues said on Tuesday that Hillary Clinton should be put in a firing line and shot for treason.

New Hampshire state representative Al Baldasaro, who is also a Trump delegate from the state and has appeared with Trump at campaign events, made the comments on the Jeff Kuhner Show.

"I'm a veteran that went to Desert Shield, Desert Storm. I'm also a father who sent a son to war, to Iraq, as a Marine Corps helicopter avionics technician. Hillary Clinton to me is the Jane Fonda of the Vietnam," he said. "She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi. She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting back up security. Something's wrong there."

"This whole thing disgusts me, Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason," he added.

Baldasaro has spoken at several Trump events, introducing Trump multiple times, including at an event in late May where he admonished the media for focusing on questions over Trump's donations to veteran's charities.

He later added in the radio interview that Clinton was a "piece of garbage.""

It's really not a whole lot different from the various Tea Party candidate rallies held over the last 8 years. All the anger, fear, and xenophobia, it's exactly the same just on a larger scale now since the inmates have taken over the asylum.

I always thought that for most people as they got older they generally swung more to the conservative side but watching this shit show has really made me sit back and ask myself if I am becoming a democrat? If it wasn't that lying crook Hillary on the other side it would be a no brainer who to vote for but I cant in good conscience vote for either of these two asshats.
