yesterday i braised beef short ribs with onions, carrots and garlic in crushed tomatoes and a can of guinness for 6 hours

leftovers of that with horseradish smashed potaters

I've actually been researching authentic Chicago style Italian beef sandwiches and I've been cooking this one for over 12 hours and am having the meat sliced at a deli, should be incredible. I think I actually perfected it. Have authentic Giardiniera as well.

Before this we ordered from Portillos and had it shipped from Chicago.

only those in the know will have any idea why I'm so excited by this...

I've got a fantastic approximation, but it's no buono or portillos.

Also, FYI: the best mix of good/cheap bread for italian beef is the french baguettes from kroger

i had arby's
