Yeah, I would keep Vermiglio at LT and put Crisp at RT. Mattes seems to have found a spot at RG, unless the coaches think he'd make a better RT.I actually think we could redshirt Crisp, if you think about our line like this:LT - VermiglioLG - WallaceC - Wentz/CrawfordRG - AllenRT - MattesNot sure about our depth, but we have guys like Cristophe, Chandler (assuming he makes it in), Good, and Jones currently redshirting.I like our young talent a lot and I think we'll have a dominant line in another two years (once O'Brien's OL recruits have redshirted and played a couple years)
9/24/2009 10:26:59 AM
whoever is best will probably play.
9/24/2009 10:40:33 AM
^^That OL sounds pretty sweet. I can't wait til our younger guys are juniors/seniors. It'd be nice to have a dominant OL for once.
9/24/2009 10:42:58 AM
Speaking of Centers, is anyone else surprised by this?? I can't claim to be an Oline expert, but it surprised me: http://www.draftcountdown.com/Rankings/C.php
9/24/2009 10:48:46 AM
^ No, I'm not really surprised. People have been projecting Lawson to be one of the top centers in this draft class since late last year. After he got over his initial hiking issues, he was money. Plus he's got good pedigree having been coached by O'Brien and Horton for two years. I wonder if they recruited Tennant as well...
9/24/2009 11:01:51 AM
what kind of coaching staff can take a defensive lineman and make him one of the top centers in the nation over the span of a year?! Freaking A dude.

getting the hunter commit is big. he's always been high on us but word was that if he didnt get the grades this year he was just going to go to ECU. This may mean he's with us even if it takes a year at a prep school, but let's hope he's on campus next year. Big time commit after a big time W

9/26/2009 11:58:46 PM
Amerson got back from ND last weekend and did NOT commit. That's good stuff. Anyone heard anything on him?
9/27/2009 3:59:20 AM
Amerson has been really quiet. As far as everyone knows, we are still his top choice. As of yesterday, he did schedule an official visit to Chapel Hill when they play Miami. I wouldn't worry too much about that as he never listed them in his top 4 schools (State, ND, VaTech, and Clemson). Hopefully we will hear soon.
9/27/2009 12:49:56 PM
word on the street is that he is taking his OVs mainly b/c his coach wants him to enjoy the recruiting process.
9/27/2009 4:10:41 PM
Hunter's highlight tape on WPH is hilarious. It reminds me of the video of Denzelle Goode destroying guys half his size. Dude just comes unblocked and blows up the QB or runs through a tackle who's like 6'2 220 pounds

Pack wins in-state recruiting battlehttp://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/118486.htmlFreshet Hunter? Anthony Crécy?
9/30/2009 10:44:30 AM
The weird thing is the same story ran in the Charlotte Observers on Monday, and it's all spelled right.http://obsrecruiting.blogspot.com/2009/09/wolfpack-pulling-away-from-tar-heels-in.html
9/30/2009 11:02:57 AM
^^two points about that article...1. When did creecy turn french? 2. The same article is written EVERY year. Last year, it was written about us. The year before, it was written about UNC. For the past decade, NC State and UNC have flip flopped years on who has owned NC in recruiting. Two years ago we got Barnes, Mattes, Manning, Maddox, etc. and we owned it. Last year UNC got Boyd and Moss, etc and owned it. So far, we have Hunter, Crisp and Creecy and are dominating. Same shit, different year. We'll get ours, they'll get theirs.......settle it on the field
9/30/2009 4:02:32 PM
Haha, the comments on the charlotte observer article are hilarious. The tarhole fans are all like "we're going after the national talent baby"...one dumbass goes so far as to say
9/30/2009 6:17:42 PM
haha
9/30/2009 6:25:55 PM
^^ What he's saying makes total sense. I mean it's not like the programs that recruit on a national scale, the USCs, LSUs, Floridas, and etc. of college football offer any NC recruits scholarships. Oh...wait... /sarcasm[Edited on September 30, 2009 at 6:31 PM. Reason : ^]
9/30/2009 6:31:35 PM
i saw alot of those comments from UNCCH fans.the number of NC players alone that Notre Dame is plucking out defeats all their inane arguments.
10/1/2009 12:23:58 PM
10/1/2009 12:40:00 PM
So, if by some odd chance, BD's deal with satan works out to land Lattimore, UNC fans wouldn't be nutting all over themselves b/c he's from SC?
10/1/2009 12:50:10 PM
^stop worrying about the Bullshit UNC football throws out there. I've heard excuses saying that since they don't have many scholarships to handout, they're being pickier about who they offer. Yeah fuckin right. Go look at the number of fucks they've offered on scout.....their whole first two pages are about full of offers.
10/1/2009 5:41:51 PM
Rob Crisp is escorting my girlfriends sister tonight at Athens Drive homecoming... can't wait to see him dominate. should be cool to see if singer plays too.
10/2/2009 2:13:51 PM
10/2/2009 2:20:08 PM
^Are you really trying to draw a comparison like that??
10/2/2009 2:56:10 PM
10/2/2009 3:19:53 PM
Obviously it's not Crompton that sucks but Lane Kiffin and the University of Tenn. that make him suck.
10/2/2009 3:34:50 PM
I was just trying to point something out, it is possible that the system that the school runs produces quarterbacks with what seems to be a favorable skill set and stats. It does happen in college. I hope the kid, if he comes to State, is an amazing athlete. The reason this jumped out at me btw is because I live in Knoxville now and have to hear the people bitch and moan about Crompton all the time, so the school name look familiar. That is all.
10/2/2009 3:44:26 PM

i thin TOB has a proven track record and system of offering QBsplus, if he commits to us he will at least 3rd on the depth chart even after redshirting a year
