I only caught the first song which is the only one on their facebook that stood out, and that was pretty sick, but i kept running into people i knew and missed the second half basically all of their set

i will say that the amount of people in there when the started was about 2x when they were finishing up

there are like a billion things i want to go to.

the shows i def am going to right now (outside of hopscotch) are pictureplane and cut copy (M83 was on that list but i recently upgraded to moogfest...holla)

the shows i want and will prob go to in addition to the ones above are: girls, the war on drugs

then there are a TON i want to go to but i don't know if i will have the budget. i mean there are like a bunch a bunch.

and i'm on the fence about starfucker as it is the day after hopscotch. but it was SO fun this past spring.

what Supremes cover have they been doing?

if it's "stoned love" or "i hear a symphony", i'm going to be even more pissed i didn't make it.

I'm gonna guess You Just Keep Me Hangin On.

Also, can anybody confirm that was at the LL/Archers of Loaf show back in January; I feel like LL played 1 or 2 new songs then. Anybody know?

Nothing new back then that I remember, but I was in the back drinking with Matt Gentling for some of it.

The Supremes cover was "My World is Empty Without You," and they did it with a very Blondie-ish feel, to the point where I initially thought it was "Atomic." Very cool.

There's a curtain where the wall between the bar and stage areas used to be, but other than that, yeah.

They took out all the tiles, so the ceiling is higher too.

Result is that now you can hear shitty openers like Hammer No More the Fingers loud and clear at the bar.

Is the walkover tunnel that links the green room and the stage still there?

I think so? Didn't really notice. Platform at stage left is still there but pretty spare looking.

Most of the back of the stage has been torn out and replaced with a curtain as well.

There was a little loadout hallway back there that no one ever used except to get to stage left if the whole thing was packed with gear, so that makes sense.

nice.

"reflections" would be another one good for them. (or any band with a similar set up, especially with all the psych influence already present in the original verison).

^^^ I'm trying to get my buddy to come to the Orange Peel show for his graduation and party in Asheville that night. Even if he doesn't want to come I know I'll be there. The first and last time I saw New Earth Mud was at the Orange Peel.

I still dig Saves the Day, but yeah Transit is my shit. Nice to see someone else on here is a fan. I've seen them a few times, super nice dudes.

I think it'll make the 3rd. It'll also be the third time i've seen them this year. Didn't go to the other two shows to see them, but they are definitely a solid band and I enjoy seeing them.

Apparently Gillian Welch is playing Saxapahaw River Ballroom tomorrow night on short notice; she was due to play Wilmington, but because of the hurricane, she's coming further east to Saxapahaw to play. I'm off tomorrow night, so I may go.
