Wow, in today's moron society that runs off Twitter mouth breathers, be they the president or journalists that jump to conclusions, we made a mountain out of a molehill. I'm shocked.[Edited on June 23, 2020 at 10:20 PM. Reason : .]
6/23/2020 10:19:04 PM
It wasn't journalists, it was nascar itself that made this a story.
6/23/2020 10:57:00 PM
It was going to get out. Better to meet it head-on than try to pass it off as no big deal.
6/23/2020 11:03:29 PM
still impressed with how they responded
6/23/2020 11:10:49 PM
yeah, can't really argue with how nascar handled it.
6/24/2020 6:25:43 AM
And the show of support for Bubba before the race Monday was organized by drivers and teams. Supposedly Jimmie Johnson got it started and everyone joined in. Anyone who thinks NASCAR or anyone else in the sport would make this up as a publicity stunt is a moron.

I liked what the daily show (and bubba wallace being interviewed on the daily show) had to say about this incident.
6/25/2020 12:16:35 AM
^^^so, i'm not all that familiar with will cain. i was gonna ask if he was similar to a clay travis or barstool sports type guy based on that video. and then i googled him and i see he's leaving espn to go work for fox news and i think i have my answer.
6/25/2020 6:54:00 AM
Yea the Twitter account where I found that basically said Cain was espns appeal to maga/racists.
6/25/2020 8:11:59 AM
The mother fucker said the main reason for racism in 1865 was slavery. Which....doesn’t even make sense.
6/25/2020 10:22:53 AM
and he said all of it with that stupid fucking sports radio voice
6/25/2020 10:30:35 AM
Nascar should bear the brunt of the criticism. It should take about 5 fucking minutes to realize what that was. Especially since that one talladega stall isn't the only place its been used across garages in nascar. I've seen fan pictures on twitter of more than one garage area in nascar where that type of knot is tied to pull and open garage doors. You tie that specific knot so you can put your hand through it and not get rope burn when the door flys open quickly. Just walking through the garage area and asking the team members, "is there any logical reason why this should/would be here?" would have fucking ended it. I don't think nascar used this as an opportunity to parade Bubba around for the news, but I do think they saw this as an opportunity to show how against racism nascar actually is. Which I can't truly fault them for, as nascar has long been looked at as a "racists sport". I'm good with doing away with the battle flag of virginia, i'm good with them trying to get out in front of the story if there was one.....but there shouldn't have been one from the beginning and it sure as shit shouldn't have taken 15 FBI agents to figure it out.As for Bubba Wallace. I've liked bubba alot. I raced against him in iracing numerous times, love his personality and like his, "I'm a racer, i'm black, i don't give a shit" attitude. I've routinely pulled for him and have wanted him to get a win for himself and petty motorsports since he joined up. I'm not part of the "Bubba Smollett" crowd as I think the two incidents are completely incomparable and Bubba had no part of the creation of this stupidity monster. However, going on the view and calling anyone that questioned this noose as "simple minded" made me shake my head. The only people in this world that are "simple minded" are those that take what they hear from twitter and run with it as 100% truth. If you didn't question it or wait for the facts to come out, as so many didn't, then YOU, in fact, are the simple minded one. I always wait for facts and evidence to show before making an opinion on a topic. As everyone should. Using your brain and exercising patience is not being "simple minded". His second mistake was going on don lemon after this came out and basically doubling down that it "wasn't a door pull" and its "still a noose". Showed complete ignorance and did nothing but throw gas on a fire that was already put out. Had he gone on there and said, "I appreciate Nascars support and my fellow drivers support. Thankfully this was not a hate crime but a complete misunderstanding. I think we can all understand the reaction due to the history of nooses and black people and I again thank Nascar for supporting me and every other black team member in the garage. I hope we continue to have discussions and move forward with progress"...who would have had something bad to say to him about that??? Could have gotten cheers from about every side of the coin. Instead...he basically calls everyone fools and says, "eh...still a noose though". Lost alot of respect for him with how he handled the situation, not because of his color.I'm glad the "noose" became nothing, I thought the show of support from drivers on sunday was amazing no matter the outcome. But the way it was handled was pretty poor all around.

LOT of rain delays lol. Pocono isn't that fun to watch, but the race was pretty entertaining yesterday i guess

Indycar today at noon. Xfinity at 3. All on NBC from the Indianapolis road course.

last 6 laps of the busch race were way better than anything we'll see on the oval today

Harvick wins. no surprise there i guess
7/6/2020 12:58:27 PM
^ Well, Hamlin in the lead and crashing with a handful of laps to go was. Erik Jones crashed the exact same way earlier in the race. Seems Gibbs pushed their setup a little too far.

Listening to Trackside from last night, sounds like NASCAR will not be racing at Watkins Glen. Throw in Sonoma was thrown out, the replacement stated from Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal was "a road course in the Southeast". Which led me to instantaneously think VIR, Road Atlanta. It's not going to be the Charlotte roval. But it's likely going to be the Daytona road course they use for the 24 Hours. So non-restricted engines running at Daytona maybe.(edit: Barber in Birmingham area would be fun, although how the tracks operate financially and TV rights fees to them work in NASCAR, they're not going anywhere new)[Edited on July 8, 2020 at 11:18 AM. An ARCA race on the Daytona road course. Wow. We'll end with 4 cars running. As far as the Cup cars, setups will be interesting because they'll have to run significantly higher downforce compared to the oval, but their time on the oval should all be accelerating and they won't have the restrictor plates killing their engine's horsepower. So bigger holes in the air and every time we enter the International Horseshoe and backstretch chicane we see 2nd past 1st?[Edited on July 8, 2020 at 11:29 PM. Reason : /]
7/8/2020 11:20:38 PM

7/13/2020 11:02:22 PM
i dont care the door numbers smaller and moved back tonight at all star race but the under body lights worst idea since the COT ricer wing
7/15/2020 6:54:56 AM
Both are goofy
7/15/2020 7:47:10 AM
I can see some justification in moving the numbers back so you can place sponsors in a more prominent position with more room under the windows instead of on the rear quarter panels.
7/15/2020 8:42:32 AM
Under body lights but only under the rear bumper
7/15/2020 10:00:32 PM
Man that was real shitty
7/15/2020 10:45:32 PM
i kinda dig the numbers slid back like that on each car. and the under body lights could have been cool, but only under bumper is kinda dumb
7/16/2020 12:27:32 AM
Race was better than it would have been at Charlotte but second race in a row the sticky stuff probably made racing worseLast time we see ricer under glow I hope

Indycar last weekend raced at Road America. Wisconsin state government were allowing fans at races. Combined with Road America being gigantic at 4 miles for a lap, Leigh Diffey said it was the largest crowd in the U.S. for a sports event since mid-March.
