i mean there's definitely a spot later in the first round where taking a shot on Tua is sensible, but i don't think I would spend a top 5-10 pick on him. he's obviously talented, but when he has gotten into trouble it has been because he holds on to the ball too long and starts to implode. you can't blame him against that clemson d-line in the championship i guess, but same thing happened against UGA in the SEC championship last year as well, and he got the shit beat out of him. obv he could be a pro bowl caliber qb, but im skeptical that he could reach that behind the panthers line as it stands now. if we end up picking in the 8-12 range, i'd rather take a lineman if one is there and prepare for drafting a qb next year. depending on how things shake out i think Jacob Eason could be had pretty cheap -- he's a total grip it and rip it meathead at this point but the upside might be worth a mid second rounder.
12/2/2019 10:16:18 PM
there is zero need to take a QB high this year
12/3/2019 1:06:54 AM
^To many other needs plus as things stand there are 11 teams with a worse record. The Panthers play the Falcons Sunday, Julio and Hooper may be back so they will pass more than try to run on our awful run defense, and there defense has fallen back to the mean after they played lights out for two weeks. I fully expect us to pull a Tommy Bowden and save Rivera's job by winning the last 4 games and screwing up our draft pick and miss the playoffs just like last season.[Edited on December 3, 2019 at 8:56 AM. eason sucks, he has an arm and nothing elsetua is probably gonna bust cuz hes small and like every small mobile qb except russ he doesnt know how to avoid taking hits but you gotta roll the dice. we aint getting burrow and we aint getting lawrence next year

Bye Ron

12/3/2019 3:15:30 PM
Got to think Hurney is next based on Tepper's statement.
12/3/2019 3:16:36 PM
Perry Fewell to be interim HC
12/3/2019 3:16:53 PM
Dang, although I wanted change, I figured it would at least come after the last game of the season
12/3/2019 3:17:47 PM
Wow, that's something big and interrupted.
12/3/2019 3:21:50 PM
Gives the team a jump on identifying coaches and setting up interviews before the NFL's Black Monday.I would assume Greg Roman is top of the wish list
12/3/2019 3:25:01 PM
my preference in order of how excited I would be if they hired them1) Greg Roman....2) Lincoln Riley .3) Jim Harbaugh
12/3/2019 3:35:59 PM
I get the hype but you better have one hell of a defensive coordinator if you get Lincoln Riley.

12/3/2019 5:55:04 PM
Are we gonna beaten by both two Atlanta teams today?
12/8/2019 2:14:32 PM
Lol, at least the tank is in full effect. I was worried they’d pull their usual “win one for the gipper” and screw the draft pick yet again
12/8/2019 3:11:48 PM
While loss was embarassing at least maybe we saved Dan Quinn's job.
12/9/2019 8:24:52 AM
Grier expected to start Sunday
12/16/2019 2:55:43 PM
Well I mean there's no reason to start Allen.
12/16/2019 7:19:38 PM
why the fuck would you start Grier though? if the kid didn't have the experience to start over Allen, I doubt he has it now. Let Allen finish what he started and don't break Grier. we may need him later.
12/17/2019 12:33:58 PM
Yeah it’s a shitty spot to put Grier in. But maybe our draft position will keep improving.
12/17/2019 12:54:40 PM
12/17/2019 1:01:12 PM
It’s the timing that sucks for Grier. You’re gonna give him 2 weeks under a interim coach and a staff that won’t be around next year to prove his NFL worthiness? Should’ve made the move to Grier two weeks ago if you were gonna do it this year https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2019/12/17/21026081/will-grier-panthers-starting-qb-cam-newton-kyle-allenI agree with most of this, especially this
12/17/2019 1:23:38 PM
The only thing is, 2 meaningless regular season games isn't going to tell us anything about Grier. If he balls out, it doesn't mean he'll have a great future and if he sucks, it doesn't mean he'll be a career failure. 2 games won't really tell us anything.
12/17/2019 3:21:19 PM
I think 2 games is enough to see if he will be a complete failure or not.
12/17/2019 4:03:51 PM
2 games with an interim HC, a lame duck staff, a team limping into the offseason with nothing to play for...idk. Why not give him a shot 2 weeks ago? What has changed since then? I doubt Grier is the answer at QB. But this doesn’t really seem like a fair shot for him either.
12/17/2019 4:22:46 PM
What are you actually going to learn about Grier? Next year he won't have this staff, scheme or half the people lining up with him. The only think he'll learn is how to take a hit.
12/17/2019 4:40:05 PM
I’d rather not have Mike McCarthy as new HC.
12/23/2019 10:37:45 PM
I wouldn't mind him. He got ran out of Green Bay by the biggest diva QB in the league, but he's a good coach.
12/24/2019 2:11:57 AM
how serious of a candidate is he? i know they met with him recently, but they can't meet with coaches that are currently employed - so the list of coaches for the panthers to be meeting with is restricted to unemployed coaches and college guys, right?
12/24/2019 7:07:02 AM
^^lol that is some revisionist bullshit. Missing the playoffs two years in a row will get you fired in Green Bay especially when you have a top 3 QB. Dude made terrible coaching decisions his last year in GB and needed to be canned.
12/24/2019 7:48:49 AM
it would be a pretty gross hire that would go against what we’ve been told Tepper is looking for in a coachhe was pretty damn conservative
12/24/2019 10:28:44 AM
12/24/2019 10:35:26 AM
what 10 qb's would you rather have than him?
12/24/2019 4:55:57 PM
No brainier top 5:JacksonMahomesWilsonWatsonBreesIn the debate for the rest:PrescottStaffordCousinsWentzRiversBradyAnd yes RodgersMy point really is that Rodgers hasn't been "elite" in 5 seasons. Also, Rodgers is a goddamn headcase. All time great QBs don't have multiple former teammates calling them out as a bad leader and teammate.McCarthy obviously had some complacency in regards to playcalling and offensive innovation, but he's also had a year away from football to see that and possibly get reinvigorated. Also, he won't have to deal with a giant asshole for a QB.
12/24/2019 5:36:09 PM
LO fucking L at Prescott or Cousins over Rodgers
12/24/2019 6:25:01 PM
And stafford i thought. TBF, i was gonna say hes about 8 or so. Its just the concreteness with “not top 10” seemed off to me. And honestly i’d rather have than wentz and rivers too
12/24/2019 6:39:58 PM
I'd rather have all those over Rodgers because he's an egotistical jackass whose skills are fading. I'd take him over Finley though. But anyways back to the Panthers. I think they could go much, much worse than McCarthy. He's not some old washed up has been. (Lol remember George Seifert?) I'd rather go with him than the latest flavor of the month or a college coach or especially Jim Harbaugh.
12/24/2019 7:33:32 PM
Tepper has said he values NFL experience so McCarthy isn't a shocking candidate. Wonder if he is gonna go hard on BILL COWHER though, with the former Steelers ties and whatnot. Or Tomlin.
12/24/2019 7:49:25 PM
Jim Harbaugh went to three consecutive NFC championship games and has won everywhere he’s been
12/24/2019 9:57:43 PM
He's never even won his B1G division.
12/25/2019 10:33:58 AM
Didn’t Harbaugh say he doesn’t like his players eating chicken because it’s a cowardly bird? He’s a weird dude. But I guess a lotta football coaches are weird dudes.
12/25/2019 10:47:19 AM
I figured we’d lose with nothing on the line, but good god not even a little fight
12/29/2019 3:11:27 PM
KYLE ALLEN IS THE FUTURE #MakeThePanthersGreatAgain
12/29/2019 3:12:43 PM
lol’d at Ronde saying the most Ronde thing earlier“the Panthers are gonna have a tough decision this offseason with Cam and these two young QB’s on their roster”
12/29/2019 3:22:27 PM
Lol. If cam is healthy he's 1000x better than both of them combined. If he's not, he's not worth $20+ million. That's the only factor in play.
12/29/2019 3:24:24 PM
if you can somehow package Cam and some combo of picks and whatever other garbage is on our roster for Burrow you do that and dont think twice about itotherwise I think you just go with Cam and hope it works out. The only other qb in the draft who doesnt suck ass is just as much an injury question as he is but is 6'1 and frail[Edited on December 29, 2019 at 6:19 PM. Reason : pretty sure this wont matter cuz Tepper seems like a dumbass and will hire a moron]
12/29/2019 6:18:22 PM
Yeah because burrow is a totally flawless NFL prospect. There's never an issue with guys who only have one good college season. You'd be stupid not to trade an NFL MVP and multiple picks for somebody like that.
12/29/2019 6:49:23 PM
7th pick in the draft
