black uniforms are so 2016. It's no longer original for any school
6/8/2018 3:40:33 PM
I don't usually care too much about uniforms but whatever those stripes are on the shoulders are ugly.

RB Erin Collins is transferring
6/10/2018 8:40:09 PM
Well, we're screwed. Go ahead and forfeit the season.

The gold chain really brings the outfit together.
6/22/2018 12:15:03 PM
If he throws for 48 TDs at NCSU, I'd let him punch ME in the face.
6/22/2018 1:02:05 PM
It's weird that his parents put that on their house.

Looking at some career stats, a few guys have a chance to move up the all-time lists at StateCareer Pass Yards at State1. Philip Rivers 134842. Jamie Barnette 94613. Russell Wilson 85454. Mike Glennon 74115. Ryan Finley 6572 for reference, he threw for 3000 yards in 2016 and 3500 in 2017. so barring injury, it's very likely he ends up at #2.All time completions at State1. Philip Rivers 10872. Russell Wilson 6823. Mike Glennon 6464. Jamie Barnette 6375. Ryan Finley 554should easily end up at #2 here. All time passing TDs at State1. Philip Rivers 952. Russell Wilson 763. Mike Glennon 634. Jamie Barnette 595. Jacoby Brissett 436. Terry Harvey 387. Ryan Finley 35doesn't have much chance to move up higher than 5. threw for 18 and 17 TDs respectively in 2016 and 2017. with a really big year, he's got an outside chance to pass Barnette...but that depends on pass heavy we are in the red zone. we've been more run heavy with Dayes, Hines, and JaySam in the redzone recently. All time receiving yards at State1. Torry Holt 33792. Jericho Cotchery 31193. Owen Spencer 24414. Eddie Goines 23525. Nas Worthen 22476. Mike Quick 19347. Koren Robinson 191415. Kelvin Harmon 147919. Steph Louis 1333Harmon could move into the top 3 with another 1000 yard season, Louis could move into #6 with another 600 yard season. Jakobi Meyes is much further down the list, but if he stays for 4 years he could find his way pretty far up this list. With 8 TDs, Harmon could move into the top 5 in receiving TDs at State. i'm assuming Harmon is gone after this year, but if he were to stay all 4 years he would probably #2 in most receiving categories behind only Holt...and would have a chance to pass in Holt in a few categories too.
6/29/2018 7:33:43 AM
Good stuff
6/29/2018 7:42:03 AM
It's kind of crazy the stats Glennon put up in only 2 years starting here.
6/29/2018 9:33:26 AM
Yeah that was a very pass heavy offense with Glennon.
6/29/2018 9:55:00 AM
I could definitely see 25-30 TDs.. Obviously the wrs are the better of the offensive groups, could pass more than the last couple years. I'm not a huge fan of Finley, but that's pretty impressive that he'd be the 2nd best qb statistically we've had
6/29/2018 12:24:22 PM
Why are you not a huge fan of Finley? I mean, he’s not Philip Rivers but he’s pretty damn good. Arguably the best returning QB in the conference.
6/29/2018 3:13:45 PM
^Finley has been pretty remarkable, considering he's not even that talented. He just always seems to know where to go with the ball, which might be all on Drinkwitz, but it's still such a change from other QBs we've seen
6/29/2018 3:40:14 PM
I think he's clearly better than Brissett and Jacoby is good enough to start for multiple NFL teams so saying he's not that talented is a bit of a stretch.
6/29/2018 3:47:48 PM
I think he has talent, sure -- I guess I should have said he's not that naturally talented, at least compared to most of the other guys on the list. His arm strength isn't impressive, he's not fast nor big, he's accurate but not on a can't-miss level like Rivers.I think the one thing he excels most at is processing things quickly and getting the ball out, which is certainly a talent in itself.
6/29/2018 4:05:00 PM
You're going to make people angry talking like that.
6/29/2018 4:58:23 PM
6/29/2018 5:12:13 PM
No, you're remembering fairly correctly.
6/29/2018 6:34:49 PM
I think the offense is probably designed for more high % plays/passes. So yeah, I can see that. I have my doubts about Finley in he NFL. But he’s been a very good QB for us
6/29/2018 8:59:12 PM
Glennon had all the arm talent in the world, knew his offense really well, but he just wasn't/isn't a leader. He's an ideal back-up in the NFL but definitely not a franchise QB. Finley is a great college QB(fits his system, extremely accurate, typically makes the right decision, protects the ball, extends plays, etc) but I think his upside in the NFL is going to completely depend on what team takes him. I absolutely think he could be a starting QB in a system like KC or NE, but he'll never survive in a scheme like SEA or GB where they just put the entire offense on the QB. The staff/players here raved about how quickly Finley won over the team and became the leader on offense, so I think he has the locker room "it" factor that Glennon was missing(that clearly Brissett has). I'm optimistic about Finley going into this year. After his first year the biggest knock on his game was that he needed to improve his deep ball accuracy. Last year he came in and improved on that and the offense took a step forward. What are the biggest knocks on his game heading into this season? He struggles in cold weather? Is that it? Looking at our schedule, we shouldn't have any true cold weather games. It'll be interesting to see how he handles not having as good of a running game this year and if he can handle more weight on his shoulders.
7/1/2018 12:28:01 PM
I pretty much agree with all that except the leadership part with Glennon. Not really disagreeing, just not sure the basis for it.
7/1/2018 7:54:46 PM
Glennon was a perfectly fine leader, but he can hold the ball too long trying to make a play and that combined with the agility of an obese rhinoceros and a sieve of an offensive line led to some bad things. Also, Finley still definitely struggles with deep balls.
7/1/2018 8:21:12 PM
Yeah the reason Glennon isn’t a starter is his due to his own shortcomings on the field. Not leadership
7/1/2018 8:39:37 PM
Glennon has a great arm but lacks the finesse throws that are needed to succeed in the nfl.
7/1/2018 11:24:32 PM
The leadership thing is actually something I heard on a show with a former teammate. The former player said he was quiet and would back down anytime he was challenged. Take it FWIW, but I definitely got the idea that he either wasn't super confident or he just wasn't a great leader or someone that could command the respect of the locker room. Made him sound like he was a more Vanilla version of Jay Cutler with better accuracy but a weaker arm.
7/2/2018 9:50:08 AM
Like Jay Cutler but different in 3 key aspects that define a qb
7/2/2018 11:03:25 AM
I heard from a former player that he was basically Tom Brady in the locker room. But seriously, I heard from multiple former players that no one liked Marcus Stone and the team had no confidence in him. FWIW.
7/2/2018 12:59:49 PM
I heard he once punched a hole in a cow just so he could see who was coming up the road
7/2/2018 2:21:49 PM
No, that was Daniel Evans.

“Official word from @PackFootball on freshman LB Payton Wilson. “Payton reinjured his knee off campus over a month ago and underwent surgery. He has already begun the rehab process and the athletic training staff expects him to make a full recovery.”He was right
7/9/2018 9:21:21 PM
That sucks, hope Wilson has a speedy recovery.

https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2018/7/20/17544252/north-carolina-state-football-2018-preview-schedule-rosteroutstanding take, IMO
7/20/2018 2:48:29 PM
good overview but surprised they didn't mention Cary Angeline. at 6'7" 250, it's hard to imagine him not making an impact as a dependable, middle-of-the-field target, or at least as a safety blanket (assuming his hands are as good as advertised). i feel like it's gonna be hard to keep him, Harmon, Meyer, and Louis all in check.

This showed up in my Google feedhttps://www.bcinterruption.com/2018/7/21/17598992/playa-haters-ball-2018-nc-state-edition-hate-john-edwards-spudd-s
