Always felt like betting on auto racing was a sucker's bet, unless it's something like F1 where the winner is going to be 1 of 3 guys 80% of the time.
5/18/2018 9:36:26 PM
^can do driver A vs driver B prop bets which makes it only as dumb as betting on basketball/footballall star race tonight! could be great or a shit show, nobody knows
5/19/2018 5:23:52 AM
When is the last time the All-Star Race was good?
5/19/2018 3:59:26 PM
2016. Larson and Logano battled inside of 5 to go until Larson ran out of talent and hit the wall.
5/19/2018 4:24:03 PM
time to start having the discussion on if Chase Elliott is just extremely overrated as a driver. The more and more I watch, it just seems like he never makes the right move. And this is coming from a Chase fan.
5/19/2018 6:50:39 PM
^i dunno, has been the best the hendrick car recentlythe open was pretty good i thought. aero package bringin the drama
5/19/2018 7:06:27 PM
^is that really saying much though? 40+ year old Jimmie Johnson, Concussed Dale Jr. and Kasey Kahne/rookie William Byron. Oh, and a little Alex Bowman. I mean, i guess hes still only, what, 22 years old....its just pretty concerning to continually see him fuck up when it comes to winning time.
5/19/2018 7:14:19 PM
James Hinchcliffe DNQ'd for the Indy 500. I'm expecting a driver switch with a teammate that's a one-off entry, but pretty surprising.
5/19/2018 7:35:51 PM
i don't really like the package they ran last night. not a fan of the pack racing. they need to unseal the cars from the track and let some air under them and give them tires that wear out.
5/20/2018 9:34:21 AM
^ i dont think i want to see it every week but if they brought it to indy and pokey hoes would be better prob
5/20/2018 10:30:14 AM
you know they're going to apply it to all intermediate tracks, though.
5/20/2018 10:51:56 AM
I thought the racing in the Open was awesome. The actual All-Star Race wasn't bad, but the Open was better.Feel like this is the first time since Gordon kicked ass in the mid-90s you can just pencil in a winner every week. Right now it would be "Harvick or Kyle Busch".[Edited on May 20, 2018 at 11:01 AM. Reason : .]

Indy 500 pole qualifying on ABC at 4.
5/20/2018 11:03:22 AM
The racing in the open is always great. Those guys make mistakes and that makes for good racing. That's why we need to get rid of the side force on the cars and make the tires wear out. Make them harder to keep straight.
5/20/2018 2:21:21 PM
ESPN Classic are doing a big run of old 500s. Yesterday I watched 1967 and now I'm watching 1982. Old race coverage can be humorous at times. Middle of the race they do a montage of A.J. Foyt with the theme of "I Did It My Way".This year ends ABC's 55-year run broadcasting. NBC will begin next year.[Edited on May 23, 2018 at 10:42 PM. Reason : .]

Complete domination of a race and he didn't lead for more than 3 seconds for most of it. Almost like he built a small lead and then was passing time.
5/28/2018 12:39:15 PM
^jeff gordan said back in 90s that nascar told him dont be stinkin up the show so he would get 7 secs ahead and cruise
5/28/2018 2:03:05 PM
Went to the race last night. Was most boring race ive been to. I can deal with a driver dominating...but after the first two laps of a restart, there really wasnt a ton of passing in the top 10. Just a bunch of riding
5/28/2018 2:11:36 PM
^ watch Monaco
5/29/2018 1:39:36 PM
all star aero was dud in the busch race at pokeyhoes. guess theres not enough banking
6/4/2018 4:49:34 PM
all star aero was garbage as well. Whats the point in putting whats supposed to be the best of the best in cars that they can just hold wide open around the track? fucking stupid.Do away with splitters and side skirts and let some air back underneath the cars
6/5/2018 1:23:03 AM
That and making the teams have symmetrical bodies to reduce side force would make for some awesome racing. The skewed bodies, tucked left rears, and pancake flat right sides are ruining the racing. I don't know why Nascar can't get it right when the problems are so obvious.
6/5/2018 9:25:45 AM
Part of the problem is teams are barely getting by so Nascar doesn't want to make them completely redesign $$$$ the cars to get air under them. So they trying bolt on solutions like all star aero
6/5/2018 1:01:36 PM
Something like the Five Star Bodies deal they do in Xfinity would save money. Just bolt it on. No more paying body guys to squeeze every thousandth out of it with Bondo. Less wind tunnel time. Aero mods under the car are a huge money suck too that needs to go.
6/5/2018 1:17:36 PM
I think that's the next evolution of racing is making aerodynamics far less important. Makes cars faster, but makes the racing worse while also being expensive to develop and there is zero relevance to roadcars.
6/7/2018 9:21:18 AM
all star aero was ok in the busch race today. it wasnt pack racing and guys still needed to be able to wheel it. hate it rich kid won it on fuel mileage
6/9/2018 7:18:49 PM
I thought it was terrible
6/9/2018 10:00:31 PM
I will never get tired of watching Sadler find ways to fuck up.
6/10/2018 11:42:52 AM
decent race at the end
6/10/2018 7:26:30 PM
clint stole that mofo from harvick with rain. good times
6/11/2018 6:12:53 PM
he still had to hold him off for 3 laps with the right sides only. bold call on pit road by Buga. everyone can look at the radar. surprised no one else took the chance.
6/11/2018 7:13:57 PM
Le Mans time!

^Just came here to post that. LETS GO FORD!!!!!!!!!!

Equivalence of Technology (Balance of Performance by a historical phrase) is an old established way of ensuring different design specifications can compete alongside one another. However, it has always been set pre-race and then it's "hands off". In other words, if one is better than the others, it's adjusted for future races. The green flag waves and the spec is set for that race. You don't say "we screwed up setting up the rules, here's a black flag for 10 minutes". (Imagine if the 1994 Indy 500 started and the Penskes were so much quicker than USAC expected they were given a 5-minute stop-go penalty, would USAC not be rightly vilified by everyone?)They're providing penalties for the privateers if they're faster than they expect, but there is no penalty system in place for Toyota if Toyota are quicker than what the rules expect, so this equivalence is entirely "one-sided". That's the first clue of they're attempting to fix the winner. We know why it's that way, but normally sanctioning bodies are supposed to have a veneer of independence from their competitors as a rulesmaking body. The ACO in this case have completely divorced themselves from that line of thinking. They're stating right out on paper their goal is Toyota and their hybrid wins, and even discouraged potential entrants before the race by putting this penalty system out there months ago based on nothing the privateer entrants can control but instead entirely on Toyota's performance. Toyota's victory is going to make international headlines of "Toyota and the Hybrid Engine Wins, This Technology is the Future!", but this is such bull because the ACO did as much as they could to fix the race so that would be the only possible result. The only reason they didn't go further and actually fix the race is you can't fix machinery. This is a lot worse than the famed "Call" in NASCAR.And seriously, in a straight up race, what chances did the privateers have to win anyway? I don't think it would be above 10%. If Le Mans actually got serious media coverage about the race instead of journalists just reporting on who the winner is, Toyota would get a lot of negative PR from this.I think a lot less of the ACO as an organization.[Edited on June 16, 2018 at 1:17 PM. 6/18/2018 5:25:36 PM
It deserves 2 Cup dates.

got to tour the Hendrick shops today. saw their chassis/body hanging shop, engine shop, and one of the race shops. it was sweet.
6/21/2018 9:20:49 PM
win contenders dropping like flies in this truck race. pretty good racing action at gateway, another track i'd love to see in place of a 1.5 mile aero track.
6/23/2018 10:19:47 PM
^gateway is good, big tracks can race well if not too much bankinghow about hailie deegan, 16 yr old girl qualified p3 at sonoma in k&n. better than 4 of the 5 cup drivers in the race finished p7
6/24/2018 11:37:10 AM
Ive gotten a personal tour of JGR and been in every room of their shop before. Pretty mental how much stuff goes into these things
