I feel like every school that landed a 5* kid in the past 5 years has clinched assholes right now because this shit is about to get real. Nike and Adidas were involved, guessing they weren't just bidding between the 2 of them without UA involved. They already expect the 10 implicated to roll over on others for lesser charges. Also reports they have other recruits/commits that they have proof took money and haven't released most of that information. This is going to be a roller coaster and it's "expected" that a lot of other schools are about to get caught in the fallout. I know UCLA and NC State are being thrown around a lot because of the Adidas affiliation, so I wouldn't start talking too much shit just yet. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Gott was involved, would just be sad given our lack of success.

My question is, say you get one of these guys to flip, how much information would they even have on other bribery operations? Are these brands so hyper competitive that they'd risk felony charges to bribe players while simultaneously being so lazy to use the same people/networks?
9/27/2017 3:01:28 PM
I don't think it's that they're competitive, I think it's just that they knew it was the nature of the beast. Hodge even tweeted that our of HS he got offered "the world" by schools but still signed with NC State who he says offered him "nothing". This isn't a new thing, it's just now being investigated and brought to light. Michael Beasley said something similar that this shit has been going on for a long time. This is why most speculate that this isn't going to stop with Adidas or the current schools listed, it's likely to challenge the entire angle of amateurism of the NCAA.

Didn't DSj's dad work for Adidas?
9/27/2017 4:04:38 PM
As expected, Louisville suspended 5-star Brian Bowen. Assumption he loses complete eligibility.
9/27/2017 4:12:10 PM
for those concerned about us/DSJ/etc...i read where DSJ's dad was a coach or helped coach an adidas AAU team. so it would seem he was receiving legal compensation from adidas, right? nothing illegal about that. i'm sure some shady stuff went on, but his recruitment isn't one that seems to exactly fit in this mold. again...nothing would shock me, i'm not naiive enough to think we're squeaky clean. i'm sure our coaches knew the deal. it's probably no secret to any coach that's been in major college athletics for any amount of time.
9/27/2017 4:29:24 PM
LOL and UNC got away with the biggest academic scandal in history. #WINNING
9/27/2017 4:46:27 PM
^^regardless of the NCAA, "the way it's been" has been breaking the law.
9/27/2017 5:42:56 PM
^ not trying to be a dick...but what's your point? it's an FBI investigation...so obviously this is beyond some small time NCAA violations. i wasn't trying to suggest otherwise. not all dirty recruiting tactics involve criminal activity...and i'm not saying any of it is "right".
9/27/2017 6:02:25 PM
My point is we're all screwed, so....BOYCOTT DA SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
9/27/2017 6:31:14 PM
Yeah it's so early in this investigation it's impossible to know how far it goes...but also how it will end. This could be a long drawn out thing spanning dozens of schools and coaches with revolutionary changes to the NCAA as we know it. Or maybe not. Who knows. Just grab your popcorn and enjoy it until our name pops up.

same. it's almost inevitable imo with DSJr and his father's connections to Adidas, etc. I just hope we come out clean
9/28/2017 12:35:39 PM
but if DSJ's dad was coaching an adidas AAU team, wouldn't it be pretty easy for adidas to compensate him legally?

Pitino appears to be directly implicated. He seems to be Coach-2 in the investigation around Brian Bowen. Appears that he was directly involved in the payment process to Bowen's family. If so, that act and the flat-out lie he stated the other day pretty much destroy any legacy he had.
