yes, the lack of punishment for that shit in Nevada directly emboldened the Bundy son(s) to do this shit in Oregon.

And yes, I believe that those involved with this Oregon stuff should be in jail. There needs to be punishment for this stuff otherwise it will embolden others to do more dangerous shit. Maybe the next time they take a hostage or do this in a more populated area. Maybe next time there are deaths. (Hopefully this time there aren't).

They aren't endangering any lives or property by being holed up in a useless building in the middle of an animal sanctuary. Thankfully it seems like the FBI actually learned from mistakes of the past with Waco, Ruby Ridge, and what local law enforcement did with MOVE.

There's no need to "storm the castle." law enforcement could learn a lot from how this situation is resolving. We need less use of SWAT and similar units, not more.

I'm thinking by letting them amass more squatters and resources, they're making a deadly confrontation more inevitable. If they let them get settled in and feel emboldened, they'd fight more when it's time to arrest them. I'd have thought their best strategy would just be to take some local cops in and haul them away in handcuffs.

Obviously I don't know what the situation is on the ground, so i have to trust whoever is running this operation knows what they're doing. But they let Bundy get away with pointing guns at people in Nevada, which lead to this new thing. If they get away with this, i can't see how it wouldn't lead to even more militia activity.
