I know a 12 year old who committed 2 armed robberies with a real gun.

trend-wise, it looks like the numbers went down. so...today it should be even less than 11%.
12/30/2015 5:38:28 PM
we should arm more children with toy guns

the only way to stop bad children with toy guns is to have more good children with toy guns

It's called pattern recognition. It's the same tactic that you use to generalize that all black people have an easy way into college.

He my have had a rap sheet, but in this specific case, it doesn't appear the cops even had time to look the records up.
12/31/2015 7:24:19 AM
Without debating specifics of any case I always find it funny that people point to history (even things like smoking weed in some cases) to justify lethal force. FFS..
12/31/2015 9:09:34 AM
You are mixing up your arguments here. I don't think anyone uses history to argue in favor of lethal force. People bring up history when the media posts pictures of Michael Brown in his cap and gown, alongside a childhood picture of him, making him out to be some poor innocent kid, when he wasn't.So get your strawman crap out of here.
12/31/2015 9:28:09 AM
What I have learned from reading TWW recently is that if I never see the words false narrative or strawman again I will be pretty happy haha
12/31/2015 9:29:51 AM
Yea, I usually don't use that term, but to say that cops use history, even pot smoking, as reason for shooting someone? Come on, that's just ridiculous, and he knows that isn't what is really going on.
12/31/2015 9:35:40 AM
12/31/2015 10:04:40 AM
^^ he isn't talking about cops using that historyhe's talking about racist people on the Internet bringing up victims histories as if it's a valid reason for them to be shot and killed[Edited on December 31, 2015 at 10:59 AM. it was obviousand funny he brought up pics of Michael Brown in a cap and gown, as if that's the normnews agencies have been notorious for showing black victims in a different way than white victims for decades now, regardless of the few times they've decided to use positive pics of the black victim

the history of the officers responsible for these questionable acts is very rarely brought up.

Hopefully they are protesting their shitty police force and overall police harrassment and brutality in the modern day. Not the false narrative over police picking on and wanting to shoot black people.

A claim against the estate, particularly the estate of a minor, isn't the same as a claim against his family members. Nevertheless, it's a poor PR move considering the small amount of money and the outrage generated by how many media outlets are portraying this. I wonder if this was a deliberate choice on the part of the City or if this is just some accounting procedure that kicked in that nobody thought about.I wonder what the case law is on one's financial liability for services provided (or inflicted) involuntarily.
2/12/2016 2:47:21 PM
Definitely a bit of a dick move on the part of Cleveland
2/12/2016 11:14:46 PM
I dunno guys.... I'm more willing to believe this was just an oversight by the city of Cleveland. Like, insurance typically pays for an ambulance ride, right? And if no insurance, the city typically goes to the transportee directly to recoup the funds. I bet this was just some automated system that sent a bill, and not the malicious doings of some dickhead city official.

Apparently, the president of the police patrolman association has said the Rice family should use that $6M settlement on education to teach people about the use of real and replica guns. So, they escaped having to accept any responsibility for Rice's death, get the tax payers to foot the bill, and still manage to somehow blame Rice for his own death.

^ I know that comment is just more JCE idiocracy, but fact of the matter is there are still plenty of reasons to be outraged here. Just perhaps not about the Rice family being sent an ambulance bill. Especially considering the city of Cleveland has already said "WHOOPS, that was a mistake. The Rice family shouldn't have been sent that bill."
