SPOILERS.....Don't get me wrong, I love this show. But last night was pretty bad. Do I really supposed to believe Kim suddenly wants to become a court-appointed attorney and forget about MV? And Jimmy goes and sells burner phones in the middle of the night and not expect trouble???
9/4/2018 12:40:13 PM
did i miss something? why did he care so much about selling those phones?
9/4/2018 12:56:28 PM
i think it's supposed to show us that Jimmy just can't be satisfied without a hustle. he is not content to just hang out in a phone store for a year.
9/4/2018 8:00:05 PM
I thought hte episode was great. Yes, Kim's getting bored with the bank and is reexamining her life after she almost dies... and Jimmy can't stand to sit around and wait for cell phone customers in the day and sit around and watch Dr. Zhivago at night.
9/5/2018 4:40:26 PM
shows us how miserable he must be working at the Cinnabon and why he needs to go home and watch his tapes to relive his glory days.
9/5/2018 8:44:18 PM
I thought the cell phone hustle was an amazing (and awesomely shot) way to show Jimmy's continued slip into the flashy underworld of Saul. The three main characters are all leaving behind the steady comforts of the bright and sunny overworld. Jimmy selling phones overnight, Kim challenging herself by defending alleged criminals, and Mike helping the Fring operation literally go underground. Notice too in the opening scene that Saul is looking around above him, above the ceiling, for the money he saved from his past life, with the "Better Call Saul" office appropriately below.

This show is done so well. Last week's intro was incredible.

Agree. Top notch performances by the main 3. Zeigler was pretty great too.

Just watched the finale. I hate having to wait for another season...

*crickets* 2nd episode in a few minutesLiked seeing Robert Forster one last time in the first episode.

I really enjoyed the first episode... although it's weird seeing older guys trying to play their younger selves. Mike's looking rough.

Hank & Gomey return! This show is brilliant.

^maybe not, and I could see them wanting to use him later, but I thought I saw a clip where Gould said they happened to shoot the scene while he was doing El Camino, the impression the interview gave was that it was a one off. There is like 0(probably literally but I’d have to rewatch) mention of Kim in Breaking Bad. Do you think she dies before series ends? Or just that she goes on with life far far away from Jimmy? I hope the last season is like half time before Breaking Bad, and like half time after Breaking Bad, and if she is still alive she is somehow involved. Although I am dubious of how they age her if she is present in time after Breaking Bad.[Edited on March 8, 2020 at 3:07 PM. Reason : the]

I can't wrapped my head around Kim's current scenario and the fact that she still has her job. How can your live-in bf be the opposing counsel?
3/25/2020 12:58:35 AM
You couldn't wrap your head around a gnat's balls on a cold day, so that isn't saying much.

well id certainly like to wrap my head around your balls, shorty.

3/30/2020 10:38:06 PM
I love all episodes with Lalo. I want to be like him
3/31/2020 1:37:33 AM
Still love this show but every time Mike does something badass like take out a whole cartel crew with a sniper rifle and a revolver, it just makes it seem more and more outlandish that we know he dies at the hands of Walter White of all people.
4/9/2020 11:06:47 AM
Did anybody else get some "is it safe?" vibes from Lalo telling saul again and again to "tell me the story"....? That was chilling as fuck. Lalo is prolly my most favorite side villain since Darlene in Ozark.
4/14/2020 5:03:11 PM
Yeah the guy playing Lalo is good. He does such a good job of making it obvious that he could literally skin someone alive and get away with it if he wanted to. That one scene was tense. I can't imagine what would have happened with the rest of the cartel if Mike actually killed him.
4/15/2020 11:54:25 AM
Knowing that Kim and Lalo are not around nor really even mentioned in BB also adds a ton tension to these scenes. I mean, I know that Lalo is mentioned once by Saul in BB, but what about Kim? I don't recall any references to her at all.
4/15/2020 4:58:07 PM
Lalo is the type of guy that does his job because he believes that it's his purpose in life. Sure, there are a lot of people that are great at what they do, like Jimmy and Nacho, but Lalo views it as his reason for existence. So, he's not the type that's going to needlessly lash out at people like Tuco. I'm wondering about what he saw in Kim that made him just walk out. I honestly think that he took it as good advice and gave her the professional courtesy of leaving without causing any damage.[Edited on April 16, 2020 at 12:51 AM. Reason : a]

just finished getting caught up with all of this season, man such a great show
4/18/2020 12:51:16 AM
I can’t imagine Kim getting killed off. I hope she shows up in the flash forward part of the season premiere
4/18/2020 1:50:08 AM
season premiere is always a flashback, but...I don't think that they'll kill her off. If anything, Lalo seemed very impressed by her work in the living room. I think that they'll use her for a while, and then she'll get too deep and disappear. Viewers, for whatever reason, are really quick to forget that she's always had a touch of the dark side. So, her working for the cartel seems plausible.
4/18/2020 1:54:40 AM
Premiere is always a flash forward to current times...
4/18/2020 2:12:35 AM
shit I thought that you were talking about the finale since that is on Mon.
4/18/2020 11:43:58 AM
Does anybody out there in the justice field know what would realistically happen if a lawyer showed up to pay bail in 7 million dollars cash?
4/18/2020 1:47:47 PM
^Probably a matter of the DEA or FBI or one of the other federal agencies knowing that it is cartel money but not having any evidence to do anything with it and Jimmy is slippery enough as a lawyer that they can't really go after him either.
4/20/2020 10:20:37 AM
I am assuming that they would keep a hard eye on him though, and they would more than likely run his ID to find out who he really is.

SpoilersKim seeming more evil than Jimmy last half hour. And who didn’t expect Lalo to survive.
4/20/2020 11:18:05 PM
Kim's always just needed a nudge though. Now, she is fully committed. Her money grab scheme to ruin Howard totally justifies her decision to quit her high cotton job with Mesa Verde. She prolly already knows of a good way to bring Howard down. She's just got to have some dirt on him after working with him for so long, even if it's #MeToo type dirt.I expected them to leave a cliff hanger, but wow! Even though it wasn't too surprising that Lalo escaped, his methods and reasons were very compelling from a character's point of view. We are all aware of the muscle that the Salamanca's provide for the cartel, so how could they betray their loyal Samurai? It makes you wanna root for him; a guy that killed a teller agent just to chase a lead. FANTASTIC WRITING!Haven't seen a villain this compelling since... idk? The last time that I rooted for a villain this hard was prolly Point Break.[Edited on April 21, 2020 at 12:07 AM. Reason : My Dvr apparently deleted the first 20 min]
4/20/2020 11:48:08 PM
Lalo didn't seem very pleased to discover the last body
4/21/2020 12:56:25 AM
One of my biggest problems with this show is that Saul is the most boring/annoying character (to me). Almost everything that captivates me has nothing to do with the main character's progression.
4/23/2020 10:38:51 AM
IDK, they definitely show him pulling some rookie mistakes as a "criminal" lawyer in this season which adds to his character, IMO. They are basically showing us in a practical way how he transformed from a hustler into the Saul Goodman, friend of the cartel and meth labs. I personally love the fact that there are other compelling characters in the show besides jimmy, Gus and Mike. Guys like Hamlin and the suits at Mesa Verde are interesting because they are often betrayed in a negative light, but are also the most generous characters in the series by far. The show also depicts the conversation of who is bad, and who is good, in a very compelling narrative. They tend to focus on showing one's worth based on their decisions and actions, not their intentions. Sure, Howard does pull some shady shit as a lawyer, but that is all well within his job and he's not violating any laws in the process. Kim, on the other hand, let's her altruism push her over the line on several occasions. Jimmy gets outright dragged over that moral compass line by his brother, even though in his soul he just wanted to help out the elderly. So, should we judge the suits because they are primarily interested in making money? Isn't that what happens when they perform their duties to the best of their abilities? Is it somehow acceptable to commit a crime because it's for the greater good?[Edited on April 23, 2020 at 1:51 PM. Reason : a]

^There elaboration on Mike as a character really shows that. In BB, we only really knew him as a stone cold badass. He has really been fleshed out now as a caring grandfather who takes care of what little family he has left, has a troubled past (and clearly has trouble dealing with the loss of his son), and has no problem telling Gus to STFO. One thing that stood out to me was that even though he acts tough to Jimmy, he was ready to kill a drug lord with a lot of power to save him.Can someone remind me -- when we first met Mike in BB, he was originally introduced as an enforcer for Gus, right?
