I hope we somehow figure out a way to get Barner worked into the offense this year. He was so explosive in college, there has to be a way to get him a few touches in space and let him work in this scheme.
7/27/2014 2:29:18 PM
He just needs to hold onto the ball and learn his blocking responsibilities
7/27/2014 4:52:00 PM
according to the twitters, he also needs to learn how to catch punts. as well as every other person on the team.opposing teams are just going to the punt to the panthers on first down to end up with a 50+ yard gain after the returner muffs it.
7/27/2014 7:46:56 PM
I think the loss of Ginn might come back and haunt them this year. Josh Cribbs is still out there...I wouldn't mind maybe taking a look at him as returner
7/27/2014 8:53:27 PM
Just let JCo do it. He'll never break a long one, but will catch it and get you five or six yards each time.
7/27/2014 9:36:33 PM
Lololol Panthers cut Gaffney in order to resign him/place him on IR, but the patriots claimed him.WAY TO GO GUYS!
7/28/2014 6:19:07 PM
Man, what a devastating loss
7/28/2014 6:45:06 PM
We should probably just shut the franchise down. I don't know how they can recover at this point...Benjamin makes a great adjustment on a ball thrown behind himhttp://gfycat.com/NauticalOptimisticJapanesebeetle

7/30/2014 8:45:08 AM
I'm trying to figure out if you actually know who Silatolu is, or if you're just trying really hard to be a debbie downer, because that isn't true at all.
7/30/2014 8:57:31 AM
I'm going off of the guys who played there the majority of last season, who both retired.
7/30/2014 11:27:08 AM
Oh ok, so you're mad that a backup retired now, and not the actual starter? You can just admit you got caught exaggerating the situation anytime now and we can move on...
7/30/2014 1:13:17 PM
I'm actually concerned about the offense now. I'll really know preseason. they were 29th in the league in passing last year. 29th!
7/30/2014 5:00:34 PM
lol I asked this as a joke because Solarte had posted something earlier that dayhttp://charlotte.twcnews.com/content/sports/ask_sports_night/710270/ask-sports-night--why-do-the-panthers-have-the-worst-o-line-/I can't watch though because I don't have TWC
7/30/2014 7:21:41 PM
I'll hang up n' listen
7/30/2014 9:24:15 PM
Damn I wanted to see what they had to say as well.
7/30/2014 10:10:18 PM
They basically said it was too early to tell if we had the worst O-Line, and Solarte thought from L-R, at the current time, it would be Bell, Williams, Kalil, Silatolu and Chandlerbut most importantly, they read and displayed dweedle's twitter handle
7/30/2014 10:14:01 PM
Passing was average last year. Ranked 14th. Worried about the oliveand our rbs. And cams ankle. I think our we are slightly improved but not significantly different either way . Front 7 could be stronger this year if healthy . But would be tough to best those results. I'd say 8-8 with a good shot at 9-7 and in the mix
7/31/2014 6:35:53 PM
i'm also worried about the olive
7/31/2014 6:53:14 PM
for some reason I actually think Bell will be better at LT than RT. Not that it means he'll be particularly good, but hopefully not the nightmare he has been. Slightly different skillsetsWRs should be better even if theyre still bad. They were truly awful last year
8/1/2014 9:49:30 AM
I gotta say, Benjamin looks like a pro, especially when you consider he's not getting busted for pot like those other dumb ass receivers. Dude worked his ass off during the preseason and it shows, he's catching everything thrown his way since camp started. The draft gurus who were calling him a 2nd or 3rd round pick must have really been spooked by his combine numbers, because you don't see any athletic deficiency on the field. How much separation do you really need when you have a 6'9" wingspan? Most of the DBs in this league are midgets, and only a handful are true shutdown corners. He's going to dominate the bums they put on him, at least early on until defenses start shifting over to him. If he can adjust to that well, he might end up being the best receiver in this draft.

Anyone know what channel the pre season games would be on in the atlantic beach/morehead city area Friday? Thanks!

Yes! I'm ordering the Panthers TV network so I can tune in and cheer extra hard for preseason football. Anyone wanna get drunk this Friday and talk shit to Bills fans?
8/3/2014 9:39:22 PM
i liked the benjamin pick. Gettlemen might be the best GM in the league right now. Hard not to give him the benefit of the doubt with anything he does.Well except that Gano deal, that was kinda sloppy for a team with cap issues.
8/3/2014 9:53:08 PM
^^lol there isn't a Panthers TV Network that you can order. It just means it's on the "regular" channel that shows Panthers games
8/3/2014 10:05:41 PM
Damn. How'm I gonna let the world know I'm #1 Panthers fan?
8/3/2014 10:44:33 PM
Why do you love panthers so much?
8/3/2014 10:45:44 PM
Cause I'm tryna weasel my way into TT10's heart. He eventually won't be able to resist my ability to name upwards of three players and describe generally what a quarterback does.It hasn't worked so far, but one of these years, we're going to have an epic football romance filled with clumsy sexual advances, Coors Light, and hot wings.
8/3/2014 11:00:53 PM
cool light, hot chick.

omg you guys, cam has finally matured and now has the approval of an old white dude. http://mmqb.si.com/2014/08/04/cam-newton-carolina-panthers-maturation/
8/4/2014 9:02:58 AM
Leave it to Cam to be the bigger man and make the move to repair that relationship after King burned him badly like that. It's good to see Peter King finally admit he may have screwed up throwing out that comment, even if it was only indirectly, too.I think everybody that follows the Panthers have gotten to know his personality by now, and knows he's far from selfish or self-centered in general. He just made a poorly worded statement about wanting to entertain fans and be someone that people look up to on and off the field.
8/4/2014 9:42:56 AM
http://grantland.com/features/re-caging-the-panthers/probably not a whole lot we don't already know, but it's a pretty well written article talking about our offseason woes and how it affects us in the future.
8/4/2014 10:07:19 AM
^^Yeah anybody who has paid attention at all has come to see that he's far from the selfish, fake, egotistical player that some media painted him as before the draft. And even after a couple years in the league, some maintained that belief...probably rooted, mostly, in the fact that the team wasn't winning, making him an easy target.[Edited on August 4, 2014 at 10:12 AM. Yup, the only real difference between Cam years 1-2 and year 3 is the success of the team. Yeah, he said some dumb shit in front of a podium out of frustration, but actual coaches in their 50s have done way worse. It was your typical dog whistle racism by the NFL media.

I'm starting to get the impression that this offense is going to be highly underrated by the national media coming into the season, especially the receiving core.Benjamin has yet to drop a pass this entire training camp and Cotchery/Avant are good enough to keep defenses honest.
8/6/2014 10:57:58 AM
8/6/2014 11:04:41 AM
If we're being honest, last year's WRs weren't much better than this year's WR. Steve Smith was consistent and certainly a threat. But in the grand scheme of things he was a pretty average WR, imo. I know he missed a game or two with injuries, but he was 49th in the NFL in receiving yards and 46th in catches. LaFell is pretty easily replaceable in terms of production. Ginn surprised a lot of us last year, but again...far from irreplaceable. And while we didn't land any big name free agents, I don't think Cotchery, Avant, Underwood, and Benjamin are really gonna be a huge drop off from what we had last year.^ I mean, that's kinda what we were working with last year, right?[Edited on August 6, 2014 at 11:07 AM. 8/6/2014 11:07:18 AM
Philly Brown has shown he can be a deep threat in the Ginn role, and McNutt has shown flashes too. We won't have any gamebreakers outside of KB in that unit, but they just need to be sure handed on 3rd down and catch enough where defenses aren't overplaying the run game.
8/6/2014 11:13:13 AM
8/6/2014 11:27:37 AM
I definitely don't see this year's unit as an upgrade. But I really don't see it as a huge downgrade either. When we lost Smith and didn't make a move with some of the big name WRs free agents, people panicked and acted like we were gonna have 3 guys off the street out there playing WR. But in reality we're in much the same situation we were in last year. Which isn't ideal...they're still a pretty weak WR unit. But some of this talk about how bad our WRs are gonna be and stuff...that's kinda over blown IMO.[Edited on August 6, 2014 at 12:00 PM. Reason : d]
