I was at the Charlotte Indycar race in '99. Ultimate fluke accident of fluke accidents. Car crashes, suspension comes off the car, hits the catch fence, comes back down toward the track, it just so happened the tire hits the perfect spot on the nose of an Indycar driving by and that vaults it off into the crowd.

If the tire was a few inches to the left or right when it went toward the ground and hit the Indycar, if the driver was a few inches to the left or right, if the driver was just a little bit faster or little bit slower, the fans wouldn't have died.

Had a lot of fun at Indy. Very happy for Kanaan as were the rest of the fans around me and around the track. Very deserving winner.
