I haven't found any complete explanation but from what I can gather and experience, weapon damage is evened out and armor ratings variations are marginalized but this isn't everyone set to zero. Good equipment is still highly beneficial and some guns are better, it's just not like WoW where a Level 1 couldn't even damage a level 80.

Also all the buffs, equipment upgrades, and abilities are in full effect.

I'm gonna go ahead and tell you now, its a not a game that will immediately suck you in, and it just might take some time to grow on you. I would pick Diablo 3 as well if you plan on getting a PS4.

I got D3 on the PC as well but it fun to be able to play on the console when you are not in front of your PC? My first choice for a sports game would be basketball, or I would get hockey or soccer. Madden in not that fun to me.

crucible can be pretty tough especially if you switch from story mode for a while. usually takes me a match or two to hit a groove.

Finally got my Bad Juju, only to find out it sucks balls until you level it up enough to have the instant reload speed buff. Working on Thorn now, but I have no idea how I'll ever get the Void Damage kills in PvP because I suck so bad at it.

We cleared the first half of Vault of Glass yesterday afternoon. Holy balls... that place... prepare to die lots.

I'm Level 25...working on strikes to try and get better items. I've got legendary machine gun, legendary chest piece and legendary gauntlets. Vanguard at level 2, about to level Dead Orbit to Level 1. My assault and scout rifles do 242 attack, but i need better. It seems like everyone i get thrown together with in these strikes just destroy me in damage done to enemies.

if i'm in a strike with the solar burn modifier, and i'm facing a minotaur, for example, who's shield is susceptible to void damage, is it better to use solar or void damage?

My original answer was void, but now that I think about it I'm not sure. You should always match weapon damage to shield color, and I don't think the buff you get from Solar Burn would outweigh the damage penalty for hitting a purple shield. It's worth playing around with.

Titan defensive subclass saved our asses a few times on a raid last night.

By the way - that shit is tough. Some of the most dynamic and complicated game play I've come across outside of a traditional MMO. Downed 2 1/2 of 4 bosses, had a bunch of laughs, and scored a bit of loot. Only took about 3 /12 hours

Yeah, the titan gets its shit stuffed in the crucible. I thought I was just worse than other dudes(still an option) but its quite obvious that the other classes are superior

If they made some changes to the way the bubble works (like being able to fire out of it) it would dramatically improve the class. That or making Strikers less squishy.

Got lucky with the RNG and landed the Exotic Bounty for the Pocket Infinity this morning. Right after I picked it up, the Gunsmith had blue Fusion Rifles for sale for 1800 glimmer. Picked up the 10 I needed for the Bounty and now I'm 200 short Nightfall kills away from a bottomless yellow Fusion Rifle

Now I just gotta get those 200 void kill points in PvP for Thorn... still a bitch.

Upping the difficulty on things like the daily heroic can net you materials like that. Also raids. Only other that comes to mind offhand is getting crucible/vanguard marks, buying armor/weapons after your rep is high enough and then scrapping them.

Don't expect to get Ascendant mats very quickly. You can get a guaranteed 3-4 a day from doing the daily on 28, and by getting gold in a public event. Past that, it's all luck (and sparse at best).

Just finished the Nightfall for this week, it's extremely doable if you have good Void and Arc weapons. Take a Warlock with the self-rez. Bubble Titans should use the sticky grenade to take out shielded Psions. On the final boss, watch the radar like a hawk and prioritize killing adds over the boss. If you've got a good Arc sniper rifle, sit on the upper level and hit the boss in the head for big numbers.

Jrb, I'm BrownBear2105 on xbone...ill do raids and strikes with you. They won't pair you up for the weekly strike. You've actually gotta go into the strike area and select which level you want to do for that. You don't get anywhere near the rewards for doing that though

i've done the queens missions twice and got the chest piece both times. Was able to buy a exotic helm engram from xur today with my motes of light that gave me an exotic helmet. Now I just need to work on upgrading that bad boy and my 3 legendary armor pieces and i'll be good to go. Got a legendary pulse rifle but I really want a legendary auto rifle. I'm jus better with an auto rifle than a pulse rifle.

Jrb, fun playing with you yesterday. I work all weekend, but I'll be around Monday and Tuesday to do some strike runs if you want.
