Why not donate a portion of proceeds to a victims' fund or charity?[Edited on July 21, 2012 at 2:58 AM. Reason : Ygtvdv]

The studios don't have any money because of all the internet pirates.
7/21/2012 3:03:38 AM
7/21/2012 3:13:30 AM
What exactly are the studios going to be sued for? I'm not sure they are liable for anything.
7/21/2012 3:36:24 AM
I'm sure there will be the usual 'violent media content makes people do bad things!' hysteria and associated lawsuits, but the studios will only have to pay whatever it costs for their lawyer to show up in court and say *cough*bullshit*cough*.The theater should be legitimately worried about lawsuits. I hope they have a good insurance policy. I wouldn't be suprised to see the shooter's parents sued as well.I don't necessarily expect the studio to do anything (they're certainly not responsible), but as far as token gestures go, this is just shit. Chic-fil-a provided free meals to emergency personnel. Hollywood sits on its weekend box office report.]
7/21/2012 3:43:51 AM
What liability would the parents have for the actions of their adult son?Same for the theater? What reasonable precautions could they have taken to stop this guy? This is horrible, but it doesn't seem like there is much room for lawsuits.
7/21/2012 6:16:08 AM
None. He is an adult.NoneWhy should there be lawsuits? This man had a plan and he would find a way to kill somehow and some way. The blame for this falls squarely on him. Why do you always look to blame something else?
7/21/2012 6:39:58 AM
Who are you talking to?
7/21/2012 6:59:42 AM
^^ civil court system doesn't agree with you.
7/21/2012 7:41:14 AM
I wonder if Zimmerman thinks this was part of God's plan.
7/21/2012 8:01:37 AM
I guess TDKR is not doing that great if they don't want to tell its opening numbers. You know they would be screaming those numbers if it was out pacing Avengers.
7/21/2012 8:09:32 AM
What does Zimmerman have to do with any of this?
7/21/2012 8:27:19 AM
The guy in the theater was prolly just doing some community watch stuff....saw some kid with some tea and skittles.
7/21/2012 8:31:25 AM
^^He commented earlier that he didn't regret shooting Trayvon because it was "God's plan."So I'm wondering if he believes the same thing about this shooting.
7/21/2012 8:37:31 AM
Just in case any of you were wondering!
7/21/2012 8:43:01 AM
if you're into religion like that, isn't everything part of god's plan?
7/21/2012 8:56:02 AM
Yes, everything is part of God's plan.
7/21/2012 9:47:30 AM
It doesn't matter who we are... what matters is our plan. No one cared who I was until I put on the mask[/image][Edited on July 21, 2012 at 10:18 AM. Reason : n]
7/21/2012 9:50:42 AM
The joker did have red hair btw
7/21/2012 1:59:18 PM
Damn, this shit is 7 pagesWas anyone stupid enough to say that gun control helped him perpetrate the crime, because if armed people were in the audience, they could have stopped him before he killed all those people?I'd search, but I'm lazy.
7/21/2012 3:17:34 PM
I don't think so, but I had a couple of people state that on Facebook.
7/21/2012 3:43:46 PM
Yes if only people with pistols had been in the smoked out, dark theater this would have surely stopped after the first shot. We all know that a pistol beats out a AR-15IN MW3
7/21/2012 4:52:40 PM
if there were multiple armed people shooting, they would have been shooting at each other, and nobody would have known who the assailant was. There could have been mad more deaths yo, with everyone shooting at each other.
7/21/2012 4:55:58 PM
If people didn't bully this poor guy growing up this would have never happened. If his professors didn't give him the failing grades he deserved this would have never happened. IF HIS STUPID CUNT MOM DIDN'T HAVE SEX THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED
7/21/2012 5:02:02 PM
^^ It would at least attract the killer's attention from shooting other people. And people are easy to recognize who is the killer.[Edited on July 21, 2012 at 5:08 PM. Reason : make it clear]
7/21/2012 5:05:55 PM
in a dark theater with a recent gas/smoke grenade? They would be able to tell which shots are coming from the "killer?"Are you fucking kidding me?
7/21/2012 5:13:00 PM
Yes because when they aim at the killer his name is red.
7/21/2012 5:14:00 PM
If there was a FBI or commando among the audience, then it's possible to stop him.
7/21/2012 5:17:09 PM
I don't care if a navy seal & green beret is in the audience. If a guy stands up mid movie tosses a smoke grenade and starts shooting there ain't shit you can do buy die honorably or run like a bitch
7/21/2012 5:20:16 PM
But why is carrying gun legal in the US? To project ourselves right?
7/21/2012 5:28:12 PM
Yes. From the King of motherfucking England.
7/21/2012 5:39:23 PM
A few of the deceased victims were military (Navy and Air Force from what I just read.) The whole things is just sickening.
7/21/2012 6:19:17 PM
This was gods work. Don't question god he will strike thee down.
7/21/2012 6:28:06 PM
Why were kids 6 and under at this move (more the midnight showing than anything)?
7/21/2012 6:31:45 PM
^^^So they might not wearing guns to watch movie. And they faced a high-IQ criminal.[Edited on July 21, 2012 at 6:42 PM. Reason : typo]
7/21/2012 6:42:24 PM
7/21/2012 6:43:25 PM
Let me explain this. Midnight shows are usually for young people. If they have kids, the kids can't be old.
7/21/2012 6:47:25 PM
ahhh makes perfect sense. totally worth putting your child's health at risk to go to a movie at midnight.
7/21/2012 6:49:22 PM
Young parents usually are not fully matured. So it's not surprised to see them do something like this.
7/21/2012 6:51:50 PM
when my daughter was 3 she was fully capable of sitting in a movie theater for 2 hours without disturbing others, including late showings. she's 4 now, and i have no problem with letting her watch limited amounts of select violent material. she watches animated batman and spiderman from time to time. and yes, the dark knight is particularly violent and i wouldn't make a regular occasion of letting a 6 year old of mine watch something that violent, but of my friends with 6 year olds, i would see no problem with many of them being mature enough to watch a violent movie on a special occasion in the presence of an adult.[Edited on July 21, 2012 at 7:37 PM. Reason : i agree though no way i would take a 3 mo old to that movie]
7/21/2012 7:33:09 PM
I don't think the violent content of the movie is what killed the kids.
7/21/2012 7:35:09 PM
I didn't get into the parenting discussions because I'm not a parent, but it seems ridiculous that you'd blame a parent for bringing a 6 year old to a fucking BATMAN movie. When I was 6, on a few occasions I know I was out at mindnight for special occasions. Actually, it happened often enough while I was very young because my birthday is New Year's day and my family went to family New Years parties.
7/21/2012 7:37:52 PM
i'm not going to get in a parenting pissing match, but the dark knight rises is completely different from spiderman and batman cartoons.and i also disagree thoroughly with the idea that it's okay to take them to a midnight showing. but this is purely my opinion.
7/21/2012 7:46:44 PM
Is the world going to end if you bring your kid to a midnight showing? No more world ending than if you were an adult at this movie theater.
7/21/2012 7:50:40 PM
FWIW, Bulletproof Vest != Invincibility. It's still gonna hurt like hell getting shot (depending on caliber of course) and the attacker could still suffer from broken/cracked ribs, internal bleeding, ruptured spleen or other organs, etc. That in itself may cause the attacker to flee or allow others to subdue/restrain the attacker.[Edited on July 21, 2012 at 7:51 PM. Reason : .]
7/21/2012 7:51:23 PM
it's a 6 year old, not a 6 month old. you're being fucking ridiculous. if you don't want to, fine. But ridiculing and scrutinizing another parent for taking their 6 year old somewhere at midnight isn't appropriate.
7/21/2012 7:52:09 PM
well there was a 3 month old there.
7/21/2012 7:52:56 PM
here comes the 3 month old defense because "all they do is sleep"
