7Still haven't purchased this game, even though I loved the first twoMight not after hearing all the bitching

I would if I were you. It's not awful, and it's still delightful seeing all the people you've formed relationships with. It's a decent game up until the end.

I would just read the spoilers and save yourself $60. Unless you really like the gameplay from ME2.Honestly after EA got a hold of the trilogy I just lost interest.

depending on DLC (ie "game of the year edition" or something), i'll buy it sometime in the next 6 months

Why would you only read the part that everyone hates and deprive yourself of probably the best game in the series.

i gotta say, the second one is my favorite

I wonder if the extended cut will completely copycat the Indoctrination Theory that came out on the web. If they do that, I am going to throw the bullshit flag because I just don't believe for a second that they came up with that on their own.
6/25/2012 9:50:00 AM
Wow, didn't think it would be so sudden. Hope it's good.
6/25/2012 10:24:31 AM
So it's out.IMO it's really good. It doesn't change the endings though, you still make the choices, it just adds exposition to the endings to tell you what happens after the choice. That was all I wanted though so I'm happy.I'm enjoying the delicious tears of everyone who wanted totally different endings though.
6/26/2012 10:43:21 PM
I think it's a vast improvement in that the ending made sense. Sure the whole synthetic/organic thing is kind of BS, but there's closure to all the storylines.
6/27/2012 12:14:25 AM
Ya, I enjoyed it. They added a few minor clips explaining why those on the ground with you end up on the Normandy and why the Normandy was elsewhere after the wave goes out. Also [spoilers ]The mass effect relays remain intact, so folks aren't stranded light years away from one another, especially those that headed to Sol for the war effort.[/spoilers]

Looks like there is more to the new DLC than just the extended cutSPOILERShttp://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2012/06/mass-effect-3-leviathan-dlc-found-in-extended-cut.html

Just finished ME2. I heard this game was a full blown 3rd person shooter with little RPG elements and your choices from the previous games don't effect the story as much as in ME2. Also heard the ending sucked. Should I take the time to pay ME3?
12/10/2015 10:58:22 AM
Yes. Play it.It's still really good despite the criticism. [Edited on December 10, 2015 at 11:27 AM. Reason : A]

And I believe there were later-released patches that fixed a lot of the gripes with the endings. Also - choices carried over and impacted just as much (if not more) as ME1->ME2

The year is 2600 something. Humanity is a space-faring species with advanced technology and a huge military in space. The first 2 games were spent preparing against a known incoming invasion of giant robot squid ship things.First warning of reapers attacking Earth: Some british guy uploads a viral video to YouTube of reapers kicking over buildings in the UK. A reaper (3 mile long space ship) *kicks* a desk over during Sheppard's hearing. No radar, no detection systems, not even someone looking out a fucking window. It's the equivalent of the allies landing on Normandy, walking casually through France in plain site, into Germany, into Hitler's bunker with the door wide open, then kicking Hitler in the balls. Or the Covenant heading to Earth in Halo 2 untouched, landing, and giving Master Chief a spanking. The second EA touched it, the nerd lore, story, RPG element went to shit to appeal to the masses. ME3 is essentially like ME2 in that it's "Sexy tits, action, and explosions in space" with the bonus of being extra dissapointing given how it wraps up the trilogy. You get to pick what color the explosion is.*The only cool part about the EA story is the illusive man's character honestly. Everything else is kinda stupid.[Edited on December 10, 2015 at 11:35 AM. ^Agreed for the most part. The combat system is a little nicer looking but outside of that, they took out all the parts that made the first two so great. The endings were a huuuuuuuuge disappointment too. Like the choices you made in ME1 for example -- like when you chose to either let the Rachni queen live or let the Thorean live -- they do have an effect on the overall outcome but it equates to increasing a number and getting a small text update on how that changes things. I would still say play it just to get closure and a little hype for ME4.You do get like 8 different options for sex scenes though. And if you make the right decisions with Tali you can see a picture of her without her mask on. It is equally as disappointing though.

I equate ME3's ending with that of Lost, meaning if you thought it was well done, I regard your opinion as worthless and hold you personally responsible for the degrading standard these game for nerds were once held to.

I say go for it. Up until the ending, I was still vested in the characters and the relationships that I developed over three games.
