Moving Jackson would be great for salary implications, but if we do make a move I would bet G-force would be the one leaving

Shows you how worried Roy is about playing us tomorrow. He was just sitting front row at the Bobcats game tonight just having a good ole time.

Christ, what a shitty trade.

I'm convinced that the Bobcats hate their fans and are determined to make us suffer.

You people who are surprised at this don't understand the business of the game.

Unless you have a legit shot at a title, its always about the dollars.

Always about the fucking dollars.

Yeah, moving the face of the franchise for Joel Pryzbilia is sure to cause a skyrocket in season ticket sales (and renewal

Gerald Wallace doesn't sell tickets either. This move (still a rumor, no confirmation yet) clears over 20 million in salary the next two years. Thats a big deal for a cash starved team.

I'd rather bottom out than consistently be too bad to contend and too good to get a high pick, which is where we've been for the past several years.

Start from scratch.

I think the important question is what draft picks do we get?

It's not like we had any shot at a title with G-Force. Why are you all crying? We will be lucky to be the 8 seed.

Maybe because he was likable as a player and one of the only reasons Bobcat's basketball was watchable to begin with

What a bunch of goons and misfits we have assembled as a team. It's damn near laughable.

i definitely agree with that, you have to do that in the NBA

but its not a move thats gonna get any new fans on your side, and some of your fans are gonna give up on the team if they feel you're giving up your best player

why couldn't we have moved S Jax and/or Diaw? Nobody would be as mad about that

Story has been updated to remove the "comfirmed" line.

You guys overreacted big time to a vague tweet that didn't even say it was confirmed.

SF is right about this move. Bobcats need to clear space, suck dick for a couple years, and start drafting some real talent.

At least they have someone people would pay to see.

With the Bobcats, you go to see the other team's players.

If there was some way to get Batum and Pryzbilla (sp?) for Wallace that would be an absolute steal for us. We'd get an up and coming player who conceivably could be everything that Wallace is for much cheaper (Batum) and get a salary break with Pryzbilla's expiring contract and also dumping Wallace's $10 mil

Charlotte's Gerald Wallace has been traded to Portland, according to sources.

The Blazers had strongly been coveting an upgrade at the deadline.

Portland will send Joel Przybilla and two first round picks to the Bobcats in exchange for Wallace.

FUCK.

It was a good run G-Force. You were a fan favorite and by the far the best Bobcat we've had in the franchise's short time.

Hopefully at least one of these will be a lottery pick.

EDIT:

The Thunder also made a trade sending Morris Peterson to Charlotte, but it was unclear if that was part of a three-way deal between the Thunder, Celtics and Bobcats.

Don't know why you guys we're so attached to Wallace. He was the best player on a bad team, but he wasn't going to be a difference maker, and thats all that matters. 2014 can't get here fast enough.

I didn't see you crying when Peppers left. Point is, we root for laundry. Players come and go. Unless they're really special, they come and go without much fanfare. Wallace is not really special. It'll be weird to see him on another team, but we weren't winning a title with Gerald Wallace as our best player, so it makes sense to get something for him while we can.

i dunno for me its just another reason not to give a shit about this shitty franchise, since they're never gonna win shit and the NBA is a fixed sport

but with Wallace leaving, its kinda like how I finally severed ties with the Hornets once they got rid of the last Charlotte core guys, like Baron and Mash and PJ and Elden

it still amazes me how a dick of an owner can sour a fanbase towards the team (and future teams). People loved the Hornets, but have largely only greeted the Bobcats with little more than apathy.

Its a generational thing. It will take people our age having kids brought up as Bobcat fans to really create and established following. Now, its just the die hards and the transplants.

i admit that i do not know the ins and out of the bobcats franchise...but i do know that GWallace is a franchise player that the city identifies with (like, the only bobcat pretty much). if this is true, god help the future of the Bobcats organization.
