Cole is better than Messi, who previously was the best player in the worldTorres loves Liverpool more than any other club in the world, and now Gerrard's back to dominating bitches like he used toAND we just signed Poulsen to kick the fuck out of opponents' legsalso, did you see LUCAS dominate the US midfield the other night? Pure. class.

Man that second Gerrard goal was sweet
8/12/2010 10:58:44 AM
if this bullshit Hleb + 12 mil for Masch rumor is for real, then Liverpool got fucked over; Hleb is no better than any of the midfielders they currently have, he'll never get off the bench

kiljadn, your dreams are coming true. Balotelli is set to sign for City.http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=813964&sec=transfers&cc=5901
8/12/2010 9:56:06 PM
If Balotelli scores the winner in the Manchester derby I'm gonna lol so hard.I'm also gonna lol pretty hard if he ruins Man City's locker room too.Pretty win win for me.
8/12/2010 10:14:54 PM
Just watched the first half of England's U-21 match against Uzbekistan from Tuesday. Victor Moses looked stellar on the left side. Great ball control, speed, and dribbling.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=813978&sec=england&cc=5901tevez tired of playing soccer...[Edited on August 13, 2010 at 4:44 AM. Reason : f]

Twitter is on fire with news that Bob Bradley officially resigned from the USMNT and is set to be named Villa boss...
8/13/2010 8:07:42 AM
so somebody help me clarify this, everybody keeps saying City's going to have to cut players for the new rules but I was looking at their roster and if you add up only the guys who get playing time and aren't out on loan + Milner/Balotelli, you get 25. What am I missing? I guess they'll have a 3rd keeper and maybe keep a few of the younger players, but that's still not the huge forced fire sale like the media makes it out to be1. Shay Given (vice-captain)2 Micah Richards3. Wayne Bridge4. Pablo Zabaleta5. Michael Johnson6. Emmanuel Adebayor7. Adam Johnson8. Jerome Boateng9. Gareth Barry10. Joleon Lescott11. David Silva12. Patrick Vieira13. Kolo Touré14. Joe Hart15. Carlos Tévez16. Vincent Kompany17. Nigel de Jong18. Yaya Touré19. Mario Balotelli20. James Milner21. Stephen Ireland22. Shaun Wright-Phillips23. Robinho24. Roque Santa Cruz25. Craig BellamyOther bitches:Felipe CaicedoStuart TaylorAleksandar KolarovDavid GonzálezJôKelvin EtuhuShaleum LoganJavan VidalDedryck BoyataVladimír WeissAlex NimelyGreg CunninghamAbdisalam Ibrahim^ holy shit to that, here's a link to the report. could easily make the BB pic in that link a dat ass http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/2010-08-13/exclusive-bradley-quits-usa[Edited on August 13, 2010 at 8:21 AM. 8/13/2010 8:17:44 AM
^ Because 8 of those players have to be home grown, and City's talking about getting rid of: Wayne BridgeSWPIrelandBellamyKolarov is going to be in the 25, no doubt about it. So is Weiss. None of those other players are good enough.Basically City's selling off a portion of their homegrown players and replacing them with foreigners, which is not OK by the new rules.
8/13/2010 8:26:06 AM
yeah but I thought they were okay in the home grown categoryGiven, Hart, Richards, Lescott, Bridge, Johnson, Barry, and Milner (when they get him) make 8and they don't have to cut the other players, they can just restrict them to Europa League and domestic tournaments, right? Or just put them in the reserves[Edited on August 13, 2010 at 8:33 AM. Reason : and Taylor as a 3rd GK is also English]
8/13/2010 8:31:36 AM
I can't wait until tomorrow. Probably the most excited I've been for a EPL season to start. Guess I'm still on the World Cup high. Some really good matchups this first week, too.Thank God I'm back on the east coast so I don't have to deal with the games at 4:30am bullshit.
8/13/2010 8:56:57 AM
Good for Tevez, seems like the right move for him. He wants to spend time with his family, can't fault him for that. You gotta do what makes you happy. I'm sure he won't be hurting for money either, he can just retire while he is still good and enjoy life instead of trying to string out a career forever and retire only because teams won't take him anymore.
8/13/2010 8:59:18 AM
^^ yeah, I didn't plan very well, I'm taking a section of the CPA exam in a week and I really should be studying all day tomorrowbut I'll be up at 7:30 and plan to watch some of every game on tomorrow and if I'm not too tired of soccer, I'll probably even watch some of that Red Bulls-Galaxy game tomorrow night. And then of course, Liverpool-Arsenal the next day
8/13/2010 9:02:29 AM
I'm pretty pumped to see what Spurs can do against the new look Citeh. Also, congrats to Bradley, it sucks for us, but it ends up being another small move to legitimacy for our country in the soccer world. I hope he can make the US proud.LANDYCAKES TO VILLA EXPOSED?!?!?!?[Edited on August 13, 2010 at 9:32 AM. Reason : .]

True
8/13/2010 10:01:52 AM
that's what I meant by primary competition. and like I said, those other players they want to get rid of aren't good enough.
8/13/2010 10:09:51 AM
The good news is that AV will get some quality replacements for the outgoing players: Eddie Johnson, Bornstein, Clark, and Findley

8/13/2010 10:17:01 AM
haha I, too, have Tevez only because most of the better strikers are injured (Drogs, Torres) or in terrible form (Rooney, Anelka)but I do have Chicharito
8/13/2010 10:18:54 AM
Aston Villa about to improve their speed at striker?

http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/news/_/id/5461130/bob-bradley-not-resigned-coach-united-states-soccer-federation-sayswhere are you guys reading he's resigned? i hope he comes to AV and brings in landon and his son.
8/13/2010 11:43:20 AM
It was just rumors earlier this morning. I don't really want him to take it because I think it's a no-win situation for him. I wouldn't mind seeing his son there though, his game would fit the league so well
8/13/2010 11:51:00 AM
dont 4 of the 25 players need to have trained 3 or more years at the club too? dont think city have too many of those types of players left
8/13/2010 3:04:30 PM
I think it's like 4 players that have trained at the club and 8 total that have trained 3+ years at any club in England (according to Football Manager anyway)
