seems like it woulda been a lot easier and cost effective to put a switch in your entertainment center instead of that many runs of cat5 to where your TV is. I have an 8 port switch with a gig uplink to my 'core' switch in my wiring closet."

that is exactly what I was thinking. When the original question was asked:

Quote :
"Why would you need 6 ethernet ports behind the TV?"

I don't think he was asking "do you really have 6 things that require an internet connection" like people seemed to think he was. I'm pretty sure he meant exactly what he asked: why do you need 6 ethernet ports behind the TV? Just go with a switch.

A Gig-E switch behind the TV would work nicely, I'd presume. Perhaps one of those 3Com in-wall switches? They only have (4) switched ports though so you'd probably need more than one.

edit: Part of my question honestly was "Do you really have 6 things that require an internet connection behind the TV?" Doing a bit of research I didn't know that so many things have ethernet ports these days. I'm apparently way behind the times.

Haha...it definitely slopes in some places. Unavoidable on the peninsula.

The first house I rented downtown slanted like crazy. Had trouble moving shit up to 2nd floor because it leaned so hard to the left.

Here is a picture of the front of my house I just moved into. After we get the inside up and looking good I'll post inside shots.

Yard was a mess when I first moved in.

I had the lawn and flowers/shrubbery looking awesome right before I deployed. I don't have any pics better than this, though. I'm sure it's all gone to hell after 7 months of mostly being neglected, though.

I wish I had a picture of this vine after it got a lot bigger and started blooming.

I already would have built the workshop out back, but I won't be in this house for enough longer to warrant it.

lol that is what other people were saying. No it is all storage behind the walls. I put in access doors so it would not be wasted space. My dad and I made those doors from old office and bathroom doors. They are freaking heavy.

Here is a pic for reference

haha, we have 2 areas like that with hobbit doors in our house as well. I love them. Makes use of areas that would otherwise just be unused.

If you ever have a party with strippers, hire a few midget strippers to come out of those doors.

It would be cool as shit.

I still have some learning to do on the camera. We have a really cool barn to the right next to that chopped up wood but it wouldn't let me go that far. I think there is a setting on the camera I can change to let me make it wider. I will play with it tomorrow

Does jbrick need a roommate? Because that place is sweet and I'm in love with the bicycles. Biking to the bar is the best.

Probably will after this summer. Roommate "retired" from soccer this year, only to reconsider and will probably be traveling to play for another team next year.

The place has had some slight improvements...mainly a hammock and a couple rocking chairs on the upstairs deck...also the plantation shutters were finally installed. Next step is fans on the outside porches. I'll take some better pictures when I'm done with everything.

Your new job going to relocate you to Charleston?? Female roommates are great!

I wish I could relocate to Charleston. Love that town.

And your bike collection makes me miss my old bike collection. I love some bikes in my last breakup and now I'm down to one.

Either way, great pics everyone!
