Tonight, 9/19/2013, with NC State trailing Clemson 13-7 with 7:43 left in the 3rd quarter, Bryan Underwood broke loose down the right sideline and ran 83 yards for a touchdown. Despite the Field Judge signalling touchdown, referees whistled Underwood out-of-bounds at the Clemson 47 yard line. Numerous video angles showed that there is no doubt that Underwood was in bounds throughout the entire play, however out-of-bounds calls cannot be reviewed outside the 5 yard line.

Two plays later, NC State quarterback Pete Thomas fumbled the ball after being sacked, Clemson recovered the fumble, and quickly scored on a 30 yard pass to Martavius Bryant, putting Clemson ahead 20-7. The Wolfpack never recovered and went on to lose 26-14.
