lost 8 in a row and the mets win 7 in a row and yet only 4 games out? Feels like the start of the hurricanes season.

I am not sure I can remember a Braves team this bad offensively for such a long streak. Yeah there were horrible hitting teams for the Braves back in the 80s and they've had some crappy lineups even during the divisional championship streak, but this current 8 game run is uncomparable in terms of shittiness. Another shutout last night. Against a no-name pitcher (Garcia will probably be good in the future though). No HRs in 8 straight games. Wow. Only solace I can find in this is that the Braves are at least losing to good teams. Had this streak taken place against the Nats, Pirates, and Brewers, I'd be really pissed. The Mets have been very fortunate with their schedule so far too which is helping their current winning streak. Who the fuck gets a 12 game homestand in April? Mets have played 6 road games so far. The Braves lost more road games in the past week than the Mets even played. That is hard to do.

^ Just because teams were good last year does not mean that they are good this year. I am not trying to take anything away from how well the Mets are playing. I simply stated facts. The Mets have played only 6 road games and have played very well at home thus they have moved into 1st place. We'll see if they can keep it up over the long haul. Plus I was trying to find a ray of sunshine in the toilet that is the Braves season so far.

^ lol at the comment about the Braves being no-hit in all of the games leading up to the no-hitter. This team has a good chance to be no-hit again later this season.
4/29/2010 1:14:22 PM
Is Jurrjens hurt? 1 IP? I mean I know he gave up three earned, but you'd think they would TRY and save the bullpen.

wainwright and cardinal batters making us look like middle schoolers
4/29/2010 3:03:35 PM
^^^ It does not matter at this point. The Braves hitting is so bad that once the other team scores more than 1 run, the pitchers give up.Also I called the four game Cardinal sweep before the series even began. Bobby Cox going out in style this year![Edited on April 29, 2010 at 4:40 PM. Reason : df]

the way the ball sounds off of Heyward's bat is different than most other players...so pure
5/2/2010 11:02:08 PM
its because there aren't a whole lot of times when he doesn't center the ball. its why he hits opposite field so well
5/3/2010 7:07:13 AM
So I'm heading up to DC for the Thursday Nationals/Braves game. I haven't been to the new ball park. Any suggestions on where to sit? I'd like to sit on the 3rd base side but also considering seats in right field.
5/3/2010 3:19:00 PM
If you sit on the 3rd base line, you are likely to be killed by a line drive off the bat of Heyward. I suggest sitting in the upper deck Good weekend for the Braves granted it was against the horrible Astros. Hopefully this weekend will get the team rolling again and get them back to winning some series.
5/3/2010 3:51:41 PM
Kelly Johnson leads the NL in home runs, and is well over halfway to beating his single season high. He would have been great in left field this season.
5/3/2010 10:44:47 PM
He's wearing a Braves' hat in his ESPN player profile. haha

Wow bad week for the Braves health wise. Escobar goes on DL, now Jurrjens in on the DL with hamstring issues, and Heyward is out for at least tonights game with a sore shin. Hopefully Heyward will get back soon and that Jurrjens will only miss one start, but still not good when three key pieces suffer an injury within a week. Good win last night even though Saito nearly blew it. Moylan really should be the 8th inning guy and Saito the 7th inning or maybe a situational guy. Medlen looked good last night and will start in Jurrjens place this week. Let's hope he pitches better as a starter this year than last.

Was at the game. I kept telling my buddy. Heywards gonna pinch it and win this game for us. Goddamn it. He did his part too bad the rest of the team didn't do jack shit. And Willie fuckin Harris wins the game.
5/6/2010 11:02:56 PM
The Braves are a truly terrible hitting team. In the past, they have owned Scott fucking Olsen and yet last night they barely get wood on the ball until the 8th inning. There is no strategy at all for any of the hitters when they step into the plate. Fuckers like McLouth and Cabrera just swing at every damn pitch instead of being patient and at least getting a look at the what pitcher is offering. Another road series starting tonight in Philly. I predict the Braves will get swept. Heyward will likely sit the entire series (he can still pinch hit) due to his groin. I did not check but I think the Braves are now 4-12 on the road.
5/7/2010 7:48:36 AM
Getting rocked by MoyerDisband this team now, they are an embarrassment to this game

i've finally come around on the fire TP argument and am ready to see it happen. That being said, Bobby isn't going to compromise his relationship with one of his favorite players and i am guessing good friend in his last season. The new skip won't bring him back but I can't see Bobby firing him.
5/8/2010 8:39:10 AM
i've never seen a worse hitting team in my life. jesus christhahaha, the starter turned relief pitcher turned starter got the first and only hit of the day so far.....[Edited on May 8, 2010 at 4:41 PM. Reason : ...]
