Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Panthers quarterback Josh McCown is expected to miss a month of action due to a sprained foot. So in lieu of holding a roster spot for McCown as he heals, the Panthers have opted to place him on injured reserve. The move means that McCown's 2009 season has ended, after only one game.Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that the Panthers have an interest in free-agent quarterback A.J. Feeley, presumably as a replacement for McCown -- and possibly as a replacement for Jake Turnover. (We're now using the translated version of his surname.)The other quarterback on the Carolina roster is Matt Moore. For McCown, his Carolina career likely has ended, given that he is signed only through 2009. Then again, there's a chance that he'll work out an injury settlement and return to the team later in the year. If the Panthers and McCown reach an injury settlement, however, he'd be free to sign with any other team.

we just got beat around like a bunch of brothel tartsjesus christ
9/14/2009 4:36:15 PM
looks like the Eggles are bringing Jeff Garcia back. and we will probably get their dumped AJ Feeley who they felt was expendable after signing Vick. Great, I love where this season is heading.
9/14/2009 5:18:52 PM
Damn, Feely? Ok, so no talks of Culpepper or Jackson. What about Joey Harrington? III

sports talk radio up here is saying feely to panthers, garcia to eagles, both done.[Edited on September 14, 2009 at 5:33 PM. Reason : e]
9/14/2009 5:32:51 PM
wow, AJ fucking Feeley? that dude sucks dick, almost as bad as Jake. not that i expected there to be anything better out thereCant believe Matt Moore is going to start 10 games this year
9/14/2009 6:37:17 PM
wow, the Eagles 3rd string is better than all of our QBs combined.

After this offseason, Fox and Delhomme are attached at the hip. As goes Delhomme, so will go Fox. The only way for Fox to save his job will be a turnaround in Delhomme's play, with the possible exception of a backup or Free Agent QB coming out of nowhere to take the Panthers to the playoffs.

You know I wouldn't be surprised to see Jake come out next week in Atlanta and throw a pick on the first offensive possession...but it also wouldn't shock me to see him go 15/21 for 260 yards, 2 TDs and no picksYou know, the Patriots lost their first game of 2003 to Buffalo by a score of 31-0. After starting 0-1, they soon had a 2-2 record. Then a 14-2 record, then a Super Bowl.I'm not predicting that, but as HORRENDOUS as Jake has looked the last 2 games that counted, he can't do any worse right?Plus remember up until last year, at least the previous few, how we kind of sucked at home, and played great on the road? Maybe that trend is coming back around...maybe it came back right before the playoffs last year?I dunno, looking for some kind of silver lining for this god awful team
9/14/2009 7:12:35 PM
Hey, while we're dreaming, maybe Peppers will actually earn that $1mil/game.
9/14/2009 7:16:46 PM
oh he willhe'll probably earn his $1mil in a good 3 or 4 gamesthe other 12 or 13? [Edited on September 14, 2009 at 7:20 PM. Reason : .]

I'm in the minority, but I actually think Jake will play pretty well this week. Don't really know why ... the Falcons defense pretty much owned the Dolphins on Sunday
9/14/2009 9:23:20 PM
^^I actually thought peppers was the only one who showed up on defense sunday
9/14/2009 9:26:15 PM
^^ he'll play "well" because that'd be the worst thing he could for the franchise right now. Another 4 pick game and he's toast, letting the Panthers finally move on. It's never that easy
9/14/2009 9:28:50 PM
^ Exactly. He'll have a few decent, maybe even good, games which will lead the coaches to think "OK, we're good now" and then the real Jake will bite the team in the ass.
9/14/2009 10:18:00 PM
the pat yasinskas article on ESPN is a scathing shot at the entire panthers organization. I h8 that guy

I have pictures from the front row since we were getting beat so bad. IF someone would show me how to post them I will. AJ Feely??!! I am done. I am only going to these games as my day to drink and have fun. NCSU will be my only hope and after last week that didn't look too good. Let's hope for the best.

what did y'all really expect out of this seasonour defensive coaches quitpeppers wanted to leaveowner's sons were firedjake killed last season with a stinkerwe lost kimowe havent added anyone goodthis was shaping up to be a season where you just sit back and watch from a distance, but unfortunately there are so many problems i dont think they will be worked out for 3 to 5 seasonsso im going into football hibernation, you will not see me before 2013, go 'thers
9/16/2009 4:59:06 PM
I figured we were at least going to be able to run the ball and beat some teams like, 31-28But in the last two games (ARI, PHI), we ran the ball, scored a touchdown...gave up a FG...and completely abandoned the run[Edited on September 16, 2009 at 5:03 PM. Reason : .]

I still have hope for the season if we can get our playcalling worked out.I mean, Fox has been a conservative coach that runs too much his whole career, but now when we have a great running game and a terrible QB, we have to throw all the time?
9/16/2009 5:26:12 PM
9/16/2009 6:05:14 PM
Kemo is a big body though to help clog the middle and stop the run...the Giants gashed us for like 250 rushing yards (or more?) last year without Kemo...he's not an Albert Haynesworth but we definitely miss him
9/16/2009 6:27:45 PM
The main problem is of course Jakebut defense is no better, our D line is nowhere close to what it used to beour Defensive backs are not great, but decentken lucas has stunk last yearour WR are getting old, i still like moose and smith but they dont have many good years leftour O-line seems good, and our RBs are the best thing we haveour defensive coaching staff sucks, the rest is goodso with all these problems i think they need to clean house and start overor else it will be like an old car where you keep fixing one thing and something else goes wrong
9/16/2009 7:23:01 PM
you dont clean house and start over the season after you went 12-4and Lucas has been gone
9/16/2009 7:25:44 PM
9/16/2009 8:58:28 PM
i'll tell you one thing...philly might have beaten the shit out of us last weekend, but in a sense, we really fucked up their entire QB situation...we injured McNabb, then stole Feeley
9/16/2009 9:20:11 PM
we injured McNabb 3 TDs too late and then took AJ Feeley off their hands so they could pick up the much superior Jeff Garciai dont know how many fails happened this week but it was alot
9/16/2009 11:18:00 PM
this year reminds me of the year after the superbowl and the year we got sean gilbert
9/16/2009 11:34:00 PM
this is not eh first time we injured mcnabbim almost ashamed of how many QB's we've injured
9/16/2009 11:35:47 PM
oh yeah we hurt his ass in the NFC championship game in Phillylet alone Chris Simms, Dante Culpepper...and I'm sure I'm forgetting others[Edited on September 16, 2009 at 11:37 PM. Reason : .]
