conor casey just came on or whatever and isnt showing any kind of hussle...the backs are pushed all the way up for brazil and are easily passing it around while casey just walks around watching them not applying any pressureyou can tell how much better these other teams are at us and not really by skill, but by them knowing what they want to do a split second before we know...thats how much an advantage that is with coaching. these players know when to play the ball and where to play it and it is a huge tactical advantage[Edited on June 18, 2009 at 11:31 AM. brazil's wingbacks > our strikers
6/18/2009 11:29:51 AM
i don't understand at all why he won't put in adu
6/18/2009 11:30:06 AM
Would you put in a guy who gets no first team burn against one of the best teams in the world?oh, lol I guess you would
6/18/2009 11:32:53 AM
or Torreswho gives a shit if it doesn't fit in with his "tactics" - what the hell do we have to lose
6/18/2009 11:33:17 AM
so if this were to end up 3-0, i just looked up our results since that disaster at el salvador.weve given up 12 goals in 6 games....awful.half these players have hardly played. sadly an MLS american all star team could prob play better than this group of players right now [Edited on June 18, 2009 at 11:34 AM. HIRE HERB!!
FAILHLAWLBERyeah and one of those games was the shutout against trinidad...
6/18/2009 11:36:36 AM
we might as well put him in, all these other mids suck, but bradley continues to play them no matter how bad they do. who cares if he hasnt played much for his club team, practicing with a french ligue one team is probably better than starting for an mls team anyways. and freddy wanted to say this about his defending - " why do people think i cant defend? thats one of the areas ive improved the most.We talking bout 14yr old freddy or 20yr old freddy???" - freddyadu11 on twitter
6/18/2009 11:36:45 AM
ahahah harkes just mentioned dooley...that guy sucked, he was not a playmaker
6/18/2009 11:37:55 AM

6/18/2009 11:38:15 AM

6/18/2009 11:38:43 AM

6/18/2009 11:39:05 AM
wow what a play by spector. the lone bright spot on this team this tourney?
6/18/2009 11:39:20 AM
Twellman - hopefully nonexistent FOR LIFEdude... Dooley was a great US nats player, although he was more of a def. mid and less of a playmaker. He definitely did not suck though[Edited on June 18, 2009 at 11:40 AM. Reason : .]

Can someone remind again why we couldn't get SGE?
6/18/2009 11:40:32 AM
does kaka ever have a subpar performance on the international scene?fabiano is a goal machine, but i think pato may take robinho's spot in the starting 11 come next summer
6/18/2009 11:40:36 AM

6/18/2009 11:41:02 AM
yea im exaggerating, im just saying that the mls is a shitty league.
6/18/2009 11:41:35 AM
ahahahahah dempsey you douche
6/18/2009 11:41:44 AM
that would've been one of the best usa goals in a while if it went in.
6/18/2009 11:41:58 AM
im surprised brazil havent scored again...the magic number in soccer i swear is 3...most games i ever see if you score 3 and the other team isnt near you, for some reason you get stuck on 3
6/18/2009 11:43:37 AM
what the hell is dempsey doing , that was the lamest attempt at a move ever
6/18/2009 11:44:12 AM

6/18/2009 11:50:44 AM

yeahi will never understand how CONOR FUCKING CASEY gets to see the field and Adu never gets a look from the bench
6/18/2009 12:28:00 PM
id like to think we arent a 15 seed but more like a 4 seed...we have good enough players, we have awful coaching, if you cant see that then you have no idea how coaching works...
6/18/2009 12:28:49 PM
6/18/2009 12:35:31 PM
^My point is we could do better, but at the same time it takes a lot of luck, and talent to beat teams like Brazil. Don't fool yourself, they have more talent than us.
6/18/2009 12:44:50 PM
you'll never get it bro... have fun in your fantasy land where getting dick slapped all over the field for 90 minutes is acceptable
6/18/2009 12:49:23 PM
well when using your argument, a 4 seed means we are in the top 16 in the world (we are currently ranked 13 or 14)....onyewu was looked at by man utd i think for a little bit at one point if i remember rightbocanegra played for fulham in the epldempsey is one fulhams leading goal scorers and prob most gifted player we have footskills-wisespector played for man utd and is still in the epl with west hamlandon obv played in Germany for a bitjozy and davies play in europea lot of our midfield play in europemost of our full national team play in europe, which shows we have the talent to compete with and on other european teams. and they are getting over there on talent alone. they arent starting over there because they lack the tactical knowledge all the other players around them already have... thats why many of our european players havent really been getting playing time, save for a few.im carl facing more and more at some of your comments
6/18/2009 12:52:42 PM
its not the players, we don't have a cohesive unit at all. Our coaching has been shitty for a long time now, and that is definitely the main problem with our team. Bruce Arenas sucked and Bradley is showing that he's just as incompetent.
6/18/2009 1:02:16 PM
ive mentioned before and not sure if people read it, but bradley did a lot of assistant coaching under arena so he deploys a very similar coaching tactic....and it pisses me off since we fired arena to get a fresh, new approach when all they fucking did was hire the exact same guy to replace arena..
6/18/2009 1:04:04 PM
^^^^It's not acceptable, but how often does Brazil lose? Not often besides when they play on the road in qualifying. World Cup 1990 (Lost in second round)Brazil 3-1-0World Cup 1994 (Champion)Brazil 5-0-2World Cup 1998 (second)Brazil 4-2-1World Cup 2002 (Champion)Brazil 7-0-0World Cup 2006 (lost in quarterfinals to runner up)Brazil 4-1-0They have a combined World Cup record of 23-4-3 since I started following soccer in 1990. They have also won 8 Copa America titles (4 out of the last 5), and 2 out of the 5 Confederations Cup titles. I'm pissed too at the way we played, but the best teams in the world don't even beat Brazil that often. Complain all you want, but when it comes to talent we are just outclassed. Beating them 1-0 in the 1998 Gold Cup was an amazing feat and one of the few times they have lost in any tournament over the past decade or so.[Edited on June 18, 2009 at 1:15 PM. Reason : .]
6/18/2009 1:14:24 PM
no one said we are more talented than brazil...no one in the world is, the only way you beat brazil is by outcoaching them. and its not like brazil just find the best players in the world and let them run around and do what they want, they do have good good managers for the national team.you are making a weird argument...of course you can take the best team or 2nd best or wherever brazil is right now and show that they hardly ever lose...you can do that with any sport. but what you arent disproving is that we arent improving because of coaching. thats the obvious flaw on this team. sure, maybe brazilian players can juggle the ball up in the air a few hundred times more than american players but that doesnt do you any good on the field if you dont know where to pass it, when to pass it, when to dribble, when to cross, etc...skills makes the player, were good on that. i have no problem with our players skill leveltactics makes the team, we dont have that. i do have a problem with this. we need a european coach badly[Edited on June 18, 2009 at 1:20 PM.
