^^Nobody is claiming that members of the press had some secret conspiracy meeting where they put a bull's eye on Valvano's face.

But they did manage to totally and completely slander a man at the cost of his career and reputation. And when the dust settled, there was no actual evidence of the rumors and accusations that the press had repeated and publicized.

All of college basketball had and still does have its demons, and they made him the whipping boy. And they did it so well that twenty years later you and several other people on here are still claiming that he was dirty. Of course, not only do you not have any evidence to support your claim that he was dirty, you can't even say exactly what it was that he did that was so wrong. You just somehow "know" it.

as long as it is not: this is our ranking of the coaches in the ACC, I don't mind as much. but who in their right fucking mind would pick Butch Davis at this point? It's like someone hiring Bruce Pearl right now.

TOB's seat is no where near toasty. It might be a little warm, but it sure as shit ain't toasty at this point.
