I highly doubt that youve spilled more beer than Ive drank. Im probably older than you are.

But admittedly the true intellect comes out in this thread when youre advocating drinking your beer on the way to the game. Yea, thats smart. All the police officers around, the "no open container" law, the new law city ordinance put in place makes it illegal for you to be underage and have any BAC, let alone drinking or being drunk, and the hoards of underage people who fill out the student section would explain it. In addition I dont think there is a lot of concern on being in your seat to see the initial kickoff. Its primarily when your crowd goes, you go. Most people get settled in during the first quarter. Its not that big of a deal.

Hey lets walk to the game with our beers! Yea thats smart, real smart...

for once, i couldn't agree with Jaybee1200 more

EDSBS had a link a couple of days ago about how a division-leading UNC can't even sell 4k tickets to an away game

tarhole fans who think Butch is going to stick around long term are deluding themselves

^yep

he will be gone when a great opportunity at a big time program opens or another NFL job opens up. Butch has a large ego and probably would want to give the NFL another shot if the right situation opened up.

Either way UNC will not have him around for 10 years or anything remotely close to that.

Whats the average coaching tenure in the NCAA?

I would assume most teams dont have coaches around for 10 years.

^well, notre dame drags it down by firing a coach every 3 years but it probably isn't ten

but it certainly would be for butch if he did want to stay at UNC. he could easily be there ten years if he wanted. my point is that UNC fans seem to think he will stay there until he retires, which is probably around ten years. i just think he will jump at the first big-time job that offers a great chance at a national chmpionship or a good NFL job if anyone offered. Like I said, he has quite a large ego.

This post is either displaying your ignorance as to what tailgating at a football game is all about or you're showcasing what a shithole of a place Chapel Hill is to watch a football game. Either way you're not helping your case. Keep trolling though. It's pretty entertaining to see you try to plug up every hole somebody pokes in your case as to why Carolina is a good place for a football game. Of course, coming from Chapel Hill, you probably have plenty experience plugging up holes anyway.

fuck intellect...you're advocating not showing up until the 2nd quarter...i'm trying to propose a solution to all the fairweather frontrunner UNC football "fans" since you're happy to make excuses as to why its ok for most of them to show up in the 2nd quarter

UNC fans should have known that BD wouldn't stay long. If he would leave UM on the verge of a national championship, he won't hang around UNC when more $ comes along. We all know that Chapel Hill is heaven on Earth, but that didn't keep Mack Brown. And it won't keep BD.

We all know the real reason the students don't go to football games in Chapel Hill is b/c they are too busy studying. English and history degrees take a lot of effort. You have to read books and stuff.

^^It's better to just let them be horrible fans. If UNC's football team wanted the fans to show up in the 1st quarter they obviously wouldn't have lost any games this season.

forgive me for associating you with the typical Carolina fan. You know the situation, and I guess show up on time. As for the average student, he doesn't give a shit about all the factors and shows up late, ergo he doesn't really care about the game.

does that make you happy?

I think a lot of it has to do with them simply being drunk, or at least thats a contributor to not caring/being on time.

Doesnt really matter to me.

all of the UNC stuff I have read talks about how Butch is getting up there in age, N. Carolina is a great place to retire to, and that in a few more years he prob. won't have the energy or time left career wise to go and start at another program.

and if you think he won't stay there until he retires then why wouldn't he leave right now and go to tennessee where he has a better chance of winning a national championship, better stadium and facilities, larger fanbase, bigger paycheck and the chance to dominate recruiting in an entire state and area??? if you don't think he will retire at UNC then why wouldn't he leave with all these benefits of going to Tenn. and leave now while he still has some tread left on the tires to rebuild again?

Well there are quite a few coaches who have coached well in to their elderly years. JoePa, Bowden, and our favorite espn analyst Im sure there are others but I dont keep up with football much outside of the ACC.

Also, the all or nothing mentality isnt really that realistic. I agree his age would make him more complacent as to where he sets his anchor so to speak, but I think he has a lot more years of football left in him.

Its easier for him to be successful at UNC, to leave a legacy there, and its sure as hell not as cut throat as Tenn's conference. I think UNC learned their lesson with Mac Brown and they wont let that happen again, or at least without putting up a much larger fight.

Most of the UNC team right now are sophomores, they are ranked 16th in the nation, and even though ncsu fans dont want to accept or even recognize it, they could be in the top 10 in the next 2 years. It is entirely plausible they could be in NC contention in the next 4 but its going to take a strong showing of consistency over the next 4 years. Its certainly feasible, but I am a bit skeptical of it until it happens.

The AP and BCS are more than enough. Shit, UNC is even in the fucking fan poll.

GG thats a trivial thing to bring up.

If Jones can't start beating some non-cupcakes, we need to make this happen as our next coach

Plus my "Butch 4 Life - Go Vols!" tattoo will still make sense

I really think Jones is another Sidney Lowe type coach. Recruits great players for our team, but can't coach our team for shit. Some other Vols fans might stand for it, but I won't.
