your reasons belie a weak understanding of how games are scheduled for BCS conference membersits not like randy edsall can just walk into a room and be like HAY GUYZ WE'RE GOOD NOW COME PLAYyou have to negotiate, find open dates, look at when your conference schedule is going to play out (especially since the BE has a lopsided scheduling system where half the teams have an extra conference road game each season)so when you say "uconn should stop playing cupcakes" you ignore the fact that most of the OOC games were scheduled before they moved to the big eastlook at the resources the state/alumni are putting in to uconn, look at the schools they are scheduling now, look at the crowd support at the games, look at the way they play (HELLO NATIONAL RUSHING LEADER) and if you honestly look at all that and can be like "psssh what a bunch of suckers, too bad its not basketball season hurr hurr" you're a homerplain and simplebut have fun pulling for a team who has not finished in the top 3 of their division since you expanded the conference

point blank:the defense sucked it up.

i was when i saw people leaving after USF was up 14-0. then it started to rain and i was when i was 1 of maybe 10 people in NOR that stayed.I understand we just got the shit kicked out of us. With Wilson and Irving out, any little change we had was gone. BUT, it is embarassing seeing about 90% of the stands empty while it was raining. We made Tampa Bay Devil Rays fan look like a hardcore loyal diehard.Note to wolfpack nation: if you feel you might be prone to abandoning your team under any circumstances, don't bother claiming a damn ticket. I initially didnt get one, even after on-demand. True fans never quit on their team. never.[Edited on September 28, 2008 at 12:12 AM. Reason : ]

woooooohoooo, go pack go!!! No, a real fan knows when our ass is handed to us. Only women and cock-smokers root aimlessly.........[Edited on September 28, 2008 at 12:16 AM. Reason : dd]
9/28/2008 12:16:28 AM
I really hope it's not a step backwards for the team and their confidence. I'm hoping keeping Wilson out this game will pay dividends down the road.
9/28/2008 12:19:19 AM
aimlessly rooting would be thinking we still had a chance to win when the game is sadly out of reach. but being a loyal fan is still cheering on your team to show them you support them and still looking for small victories when you can find them. Even though we were being blown out, every time we had the ball, i'm still going to root for us to score. When on defense, i'm still going to get loud and support the team. aimless fans? or fans who know what it means to the team to never give up on them.

Honestly what did you expect? They have a Heisman candidate at QB and are what #13 in the country. We have half our team injured including the best player and starting QB.
9/28/2008 12:33:44 AM
sorry guys it's my fault. i haven't been to a game yet this season and i went to this one and jinxed us. bad news is that i have tickets to the rest of the home games too so we're fucked.MY BAD [Edited on September 28, 2008 at 12:38 AM. Reason : zwehwedsa]
9/28/2008 12:37:47 AM
just come w/ some passion and let the team know you're behind them, you're straight
9/28/2008 12:40:51 AM
there to the bitter end, but it was more fun when it was raining
9/28/2008 12:42:39 AM
i will leave as i damn well plz, kthnxu. stayed the whole time, but i understand why people left. we were awful.
9/28/2008 12:44:47 AM
I checked this game on my phone at halftime... and it looked like we'd only had 14 plays on offense... Beck was 3 for 7 and Eugene/Brown had a total of 7 rushing attempts.Did we just go 3-and-out repeatedly? Or did we fumble a lot? Or what? Because oddly enough Beck was 0 INT at that point. On a side note... did someone just move the Alabama/Georgia thread to the trash bin?[Edited on September 28, 2008 at 12:49 AM. Reason : .]
9/28/2008 12:45:08 AM
I think we were what, -33 yards rushing at half time? And you wonder why people left. (and the rain)
9/28/2008 12:48:42 AM
Safeties giving -44 rushing yards didn't help.
9/28/2008 12:56:38 AM
^3 i moved the duplicate i love/hate georgia/alabama threads because there wasn't really any need for them, wasn't a bunch of posts, it was being discussed in the games thread[Edited on September 28, 2008 at 12:59 AM. Reason : ]
9/28/2008 12:59:46 AM
Beck was 9/32...that's mediocore for a batting average.
9/28/2008 1:53:42 AM
Looks like beck indeed have a good game -- only 3 interceptions.
9/28/2008 2:30:43 AM
wet hebestfucking soaked
9/28/2008 2:42:38 AM
the rain party at halftime ruled. too bad the team had to come back onto the field and lose
9/28/2008 3:31:04 AM
hmm, as far as people leaving: I think most people didn't anticipate the rain (even with the clouds earlier), plus it was cold rain. The cold rain drove most of the people in the upper deck to go below the upper deck. We had a ton of people there for awhile. After halftime I had some great seats right at field level
9/28/2008 7:43:09 AM
Everyone knows we're a football school basketball school volleyball school.
9/28/2008 8:20:45 AM
yeah they were calling for a 40% chance of light rain...my wife and I didn't bring rain gear... we stuck it out until halftime (sat in our upper level seats until halftime)... but after seeing the product on the field and being drenched, we left and watched the 2nd half on TV. If it had been close or worth a crap, we would have stayed gladly.
9/28/2008 9:04:30 AM
9/28/2008 9:24:17 AM
Sorry, I guess I'm just smart enough to come in out of the rain, especially when it isn't even a game anymore.
9/28/2008 10:34:08 AM
so what does it say about the state of football that this game thread is only 7 pages?
9/28/2008 10:42:50 AM
Maybe I should rethink getting a ticket to next weeks game.

^^^ Worst fucking decision maker in the history of Qbs. Seriously.[Edited on September 28, 2008 at 11:14 AM. Reason : definitely a bad decision when you are already getting your ass kicked.]
9/28/2008 11:13:36 AM
If you re-think tickets to a Sat. afternoon ACC game in Carter-Finley, you're a freakin idiot.Big ass game next Saturday against a very beatable ACC opponent, Boston College.Wilson should be back... He is a game changer. No excuse to miss next Saturday's ACC home opener. 1-1 heading into a Thurs. Night game with FSU would be awesome.
9/28/2008 11:17:27 AM
What kind of level are you guys expecting out of a team that is missing almost 12 starters, an unexperienced offensive line, inept QB's, and all that against a Top 15 team? Honestly 2-3 is where I think we should be a this point. Although this season has been rocky to say the least, you have to put things into perspective. I do hate though, that this is my senior year.
9/28/2008 11:36:19 AM
execpt it was still a game until the end of the third quarter. I guess those of you who left missed our 3 40+ yard plays and several defensive stops. Without the two redzone turnovers in the 3rd quarter it could have easily been 31-24. we are so bad that they can snap it over the punters head no problem 50 yard puntWhy do we not rush punts? And with one guy coming it would seem we would have nice returns set up but we never get any punt returns.
9/28/2008 11:38:45 AM
9/28/2008 12:56:16 PM
the ints were what let the wind out of the sailsand
9/28/2008 2:02:56 PM
^^^ that rugby punt really did piss me off. And if we rush the punt, TJ Graham would get murdered. It's not worth the risk.
9/28/2008 2:36:00 PM
i left nor at halftime for 7
9/28/2008 3:06:16 PM
^^ its called a fair catch

I am sure I was there longer than any of you, unless you work for the football team or the stadium. If any of you know the douche who threw the apple onto the field at the end of half time from the student section, make sure to punch them in the face. All it took was that one jack ass to ruin the students getting some apples that were left from the band.
9/28/2008 3:32:33 PM
who cares? i much rather enjoy the pleasure of seeing an apple fly all the way to the F than to actaully eat one.
9/28/2008 3:35:43 PM
Umm, what F are you talking about? It is stupid people like you who make life worse for everyone.A lot of student fans enjoyed getting apples, and it will never happen again because one douche had to throw an apple onto the field.
9/28/2008 5:03:49 PM
someone give me a kickass name for the stream channel, other than NC Sports Channel.Maybe not specifically tied to the NC State name as i'll probably put hurricanes games up there too
9/28/2008 5:30:50 PM
9/28/2008 8:42:17 PM
with as inept as our offense is .... what does it really change if we let them keep the ball ... we're just going to 3 and out and give them the ball in nearly the same field position. I'd much rather go for the block and try to get some enthusiasm into the game.I'll take a penalty if it's because someone is going balls out to block a punt and just misses it... Physical mistakes and misques are acceptable, mental ones are not.
9/29/2008 12:14:45 AM
^^^^^ I feel really bad b/c the girl next to me actually got hit in the face by an apple thrown by that guy in the suit I believe.
