nice tits going into every commercial breakhmm. timeout to give ucla a chance to set up against harden
1/17/2009 5:42:24 PM
that "Rook-siks" shit is getting annoying
1/17/2009 5:42:41 PM
Is Collison on the take? 4 missed shots in a row to end it...
1/17/2009 5:48:19 PM
WHEW! Darren usually makes those.really sucks that James has 4 fouls AND that ASU can't hit a 3 to save their lives
1/17/2009 5:48:22 PM
it's kindof hard to believe how impotent ucla's offense is.
1/17/2009 5:50:24 PM
^^yeah, unbelievable.
1/17/2009 5:50:36 PM
Whoa... OT? How the fuck did that happen? Last I saw it was an 11 point game.If ASU wins this they are in a really good spot in the conference race... toughest part of the schedule will be done...
1/17/2009 5:52:25 PM
James and Jeff with the comebackUCLA picked up their 7th foul at the ~10 minute mark and ASU made their FTs
1/17/2009 5:54:10 PM
go herband cheerleaders - damn
1/17/2009 5:54:37 PM
^^^^ sweet i was hoping you'd see that.that's surprising that they don't sell it out for nonconference. what i really mean though is that it looks stupid. there's like fifty feet from the end of the floor to the seats behind each basket, doesn't look like a basketball arena at all. oh well.go bruins![Edited on January 17, 2009 at 5:54 PM. Reason : ^^]
1/17/2009 5:54:48 PM
bwahaha that flop was fucking pathetic
1/17/2009 5:55:27 PM
Verne is cracking me up todayhe's senile as fuck
1/17/2009 5:57:11 PM
harden's mom is a real bruiser.
1/17/2009 5:57:29 PM
They need a damn restricted area in college. Duke makes a living off of bogus charges under the hoop... it's fucking stupid that teams can do that.
1/17/2009 6:00:30 PM
just by looking at her, you can tell why he won't be back for his junior year
1/17/2009 6:00:44 PM
wtf was that????????????
1/17/2009 6:02:25 PM
wow.
1/17/2009 6:02:41 PM
Congrats Team Herb!
1/17/2009 6:02:53 PM
wowucla doesnt even get a shot off
1/17/2009 6:02:56 PM
1/17/2009 6:04:18 PM
haha, I like how they cut out of the game 3 seconds after the buzzer to show an infomercial for arthritis.
1/17/2009 6:05:20 PM
ucla cheerleaders won this gamewhere can i go to buy my gf one of those outfits socks and allherb plz come back?
1/17/2009 7:34:43 PM
^yea, b/c herb is gonna take em real far in the postseason!!!*cue the "at least they'll be in the postseason! rawr rawr rawr!"*
1/17/2009 7:43:06 PM
yes, it's much more satisfying not making the post season at all instead of making it to the sweet 16
1/17/2009 10:06:57 PM
you say it like herb making the sweet 16 is a regular thing.]
1/17/2009 10:07:55 PM
I'd rather just accept that our vaunted AD hired someone not cut out for this college coach thing than to know no half time lead is safe and a second half meltdown is imminent no matter who we are playing. That USC game reminded me of why I was glad Herb decided to move on. We'll get a solid squad eventually.

1/18/2009 12:07:32 AM
Only the dumbest of State fans are going to suggest that at this point in time.
1/18/2009 12:13:45 AM
lol, was watching ESPN, when they were recapping the ASU/UCLA team right at the end one of the commentators said something about NC State and Herb. Anyone catch what he said?
1/18/2009 12:19:32 AM
UCLA blogs and forums blowing up because Howland was outcoached. Basically saying he has brainwashed Juniors and Seniors into ball control for the guards and setting up the perfect outside shot rather than driving to the hoop. And if you look at who was on the floor the last 15 minutes (Aboya=Sr., Shipp=Sr., Dragovic=Sr., Collison=Sr., many subs) they may have a point....Basically saying he didn't want his #1 recruiting class to take the game into their own hands and it really backfired (5 recruits averaging 4.6 stars)
1/18/2009 10:38:02 AM
i'm pretty sure i read that ASU has a top 10 recruiting class coming in next year.
1/18/2009 4:06:30 PM
i think you just made that up.
1/18/2009 4:16:19 PM
it's a pretty good recruiting class, but not top-10 by any meansTrent Lockett (**** scout #18 SG) 6'5" 185Demetrius Walker (*** scout #32 PF) 6'4" 185Ruslan Pateev (*** C) 6'11" 235if they could get Renardo Sidney (***** scout #2 PF) 6'9" 260, then it would boost the hell out of the class ranking. but it's looking like he's Europe-bound
1/18/2009 8:13:51 PM
meh, maybe it was another team
1/19/2009 1:44:15 AM
1/19/2009 1:56:52 PM
this will be a VERY tough game. UofA loses -- they're done for the year. thus, they'll come out fighting like hell. my prediction is that if Harden scores 20+ then ASU wins. anything less than that, is a toss-upgotta keep Pendergraph out of foul trouble because I'd hate to see Boateng have to guard Jordan Hill for much more than 5-10 minutes total.should come down to free throws and overtime wouldn't surprise me at all
1/21/2009 11:17:16 AM
sure enough, as predicted, James scored 21....and ASU wonteam shot less than 30% for the game and still pulled it out after being down at the half16-3 (5-2)first time since 1980 that ASU won @UCLA, @Stanford and @UofA in the same seasonand....sitting on a 3 game win streak versus their rival
1/21/2009 11:46:21 PM
Herb timed this move perfect. Arizona is going down hill and he was able to break a 12 game losing streak to them last year and has now won 3 in a row. In the mid 90's Arizona was pretty good and managed to win a national title two years after UCLA did. When he was at NC State he had to play against some of Duke, Wake Forest, UNC, and Maryland's greatest teams ever.
1/21/2009 11:56:45 PM
Maryland's greatest teams? I think you've confused Herb with Norm.
1/21/2009 11:58:36 PM
it's not like he knew Lute Olsen would leave the team and that UofA would hit a downward spiralbut you're right...the timing does seem to be fortunate
1/22/2009 12:00:48 AM
^^The key word is "SOME." Maryland 2002 was pretty good. Outside of the 70's when else was Maryland ever that good? Duke 1999 was awsome. Duke 2001 won the NCAA Title. UNC had some really good teams that made it to the Final Four when Herb was here. Wake During the CP3 era was a pretty good team.[Edited on January 22, 2009 at 12:03 AM. Reason : .]
1/22/2009 12:02:33 AM
hell, they were good with Howard/Danelius/Williams/Gray in '0225+ wins i think
1/22/2009 12:37:44 AM
^We did have that nice win in the ACC Tournament vs WF in 2003.
1/22/2009 12:44:09 AM
haha, watch him get screwed over for PAC 10 COTY again
1/22/2009 8:47:06 AM
well, Romar is doing some big things at Washingtonbut he hasn't hit the tough stretch yet....so we'll see
1/22/2009 9:45:07 AM
Maryland 2002 was "pretty good"?? plz go learn spr0tz. They were a fucking STELLAR team.and, for the 400th time, I miss Herb.
1/22/2009 9:54:20 AM
The Maryland teams that went up against DT's teams in the early-to-mid 70s were easily the best Maryland teams. But the recent Maryland teams with Blake/Dixon/Wilcox/Baxter/etc were right behind them. Maryland just didn't have any good teams before the 70s, in between those two eras, and/or recently. So yeah...Herb went up against some of the best Maryland teams, some of the best Duke teams, and some of the best (and also some of the worst) UNC teams.
1/22/2009 9:59:04 AM
Seeing as how Maryland only has one national championship and it was during Herb's tenure, I would say that was one of Maryland's greatest teams. We also beat them that year in the ACC tourney to make it to the championship when they were #2 in the nation.
1/22/2009 10:36:39 AM
^That was another great win. It was one of the only times I can ever remember him getting a win against a pretty good Maryland team.
