^^ I think you have to roll with the studs on this one.

It's too early in the season to comfortably sit Holt or Santonio. I need to see a game or two from Ryan before I would call Roddy and every week starter.

Not to say White will be a bust, but a rookies first game at QB, typically isn't a great one.

Holmes will have at least one big play this weekend and even though Holt will be locked down by Asante Samuel, Holt will still get his.

Coles has upside, but not over Holt and Holmes.

Start Holt and Holmes.

current starters in bold

start 1:
favre (@ miami)
schaub (@ pitt)

start 3:
andre johnson (@ pitt)
chad ocho cinco (@ balt)
darrell jackson (@ oak)

burleson (@ buff)
berrian (@ gb)
hackett (@ sd)
bryant johnson (Ari)

start 2:
addai (chi)
ryan grant (min)

ray rice (cin)
jon stewart (@ sd)
chris perry (@ balt)

damn, can I get a road game please?

but seriously, any help would be appreciated... not real sure about ryan grant, but who do I go with... perry? not real sure about Ocho Cinco or Jackson, but who do I switch them with? Favre/Schaub?

I forgot how shitty bad matchups can make a fantasy weekend.

he was absolutely worthless on my team last season

i actually just added jackson and dropped devin thomas. taking rookie WR's in the draft is usually a bad idea, he was my last pick... about 12 beers deep.

^^ 100% agreed.

Burleson is their unquestioned #1 WR this weekend.

put Jackson on the bench and start Burleson with confidence.

Panthro, how about my QB situation?

Favre @ Miami
or
Schaub @ Pitt

I've been set on Favre, but the Schaub-Andre Johnson connection is also appealing.

well, if you removed the QB's from the situation, Pitt's defense scares me a lot more than Miami's.

It sounds like you also have Johnson. Great WR! I would be hesitant to start Schaub this week given that the texans dont have a run game right now, and the defense, including polomalu, will be focused strictly on shutting down AJ.

Worst case scenario, both Schaub and AJ lay an egg, costing you double fantasy points.

Stay away from Schaub this week, start Favre. He wont be overly impressive, but I see somewhere around 21-33 for 220 yds with 2 TD's and an INT. Most of this yardage will come from short passes with long gains after the catch, but it will be a good coming out party for him.

Go with Favre!

Draft is tonight in a keeper league. Here are my keepers:

QB: Brady
RB: Jamal Lewis, Ryan Grant
WR: Randy Moss, Marques Colston

Obviously I'm stacked at keepers, but looking for advice. My first pick will be in the 6th round (since keepers) and about half of the teams didn't keep the full 5 keepers.

Strategy? I need a RB for my RB/WR slot, so I was thinking I'd go RB/RB/WR/WR.

autodraft went all right, but i somehow missed putting edgerrin james on my exclude list and i'm short a backup qb

would trading james for david garrard be a smart move or no? i just don't trust james

So what does every one think of Eddie Royal as a sleeper this year? he beat out a ton of veteran wideouts to take the number two spot along side Brandon Marshall in Denver.
He is smallish, (about Steve Smith's size), but is a serious burner.
If this is Jay Cutler's coming out party year, maybe this kid can reap some of the benefits...

I thought the same thing about Brandon Stokley last season.... If you have room on your roster for him he might not be a bad pickup, but I'd wait a week or two to see how he performs before starting him

I've got a draft this afternoon at 4:45 in a 12-man non-ppr league

I expect all of TWW to be on here from 4:15 to 4:45 to give me sound advice once I figure out what pick I have

Last chance....

Quote :
"If anybody wants in on a league, I've got a couple of slots open.....Some of the basics:

$25 entry fee (covers league upgrade and $125 - $175 first place prize....I could also break it down where 2nd and 3rd get their $ back if the majority of people want that)

PPR league with per game total yardage bonuses for QB, RB and WR.

defensive shutouts 30 pts

3 week, 6 team playoff format with top two reg season seeds having a 1st round bye.

draft is live in Yahoo, set for 9/3 @ 9:00pm.

If you're interested, send a PM."

I have 9th pick in a 12 man league in 40 minutes...I guess I'm leaning towards Brady/Moss/Barber/T.O./Marshawn in the 1st round depending on who is there

the people at 4 and 5 are both retards so I might get some lucky breaks

Somebody recommend a WR or two for me.. 3 WRs start, 2 RBs, QB, TE, K, Def

I currently have (bye week):

Braylon Edwards (5)
Lee Evans (6)
Santonio Holmes (6)
Bobby Engram (4)
James Hardy (6)

also,

David Garrard
Matt Hasselbeck
Brian Westbrook
Brandon Jacobs
Lendale White
Derrick Ward (handcuff)
Correll Buckhalter (handcuff)
Antonio Gates
Greg Olsen
Mason Crosby

Our WR FAs start around Mark Clayton, Marty Booker, David Patten, WRs in the 160+ range. But I need one for week 6, I don't know if I even need to handcuff both of them, but since I don't even know if Lendale will be the starter the whole time I figure they are very important to me. I do have Seattle and Minnesota defense, but since they're both pretty good I don't wanna just drop one, I'd rather wait for somebody's to be worse than mine and maybe offer a trade. Any WRs that might be really good that people might overlook in the 160-200 range?

Now that I'm looking at it, Bobby Engram is listed as the 5th/6th option. Maybe I'll drop him. Maybe pick up Muhsin Muhammed

1st pick in a 12 team snake draft: my team kinda sucks considering:

QB: McNabb
RB: LT
RB: Brandon Jacobs
RB/WR: Jonathan Stewart
WR: Braylon Edwards
WR: Brandon Marshall
TE: Jeremy Shockey
D: Cowgirlz
K: Lindell

bench:
Donald Driver
Jake Delhomme
Darren Sproles
Robert Meachum
Marcedes Lewis
...
Thats all I remember

I gotta get a solid #3 RB off the waiver wire. It may take a while for Stewart to pick up steam.

^^I like Graham, especially if its PPR...Graham is going to get 20+ carries and catch some passes out of the backfield...given what the Pats did last year, its reasonable to think they might throw the ball a lot

its a close one but I like Graham

My Lineup. I've been going back and forth on my TE and my WR - WR/RB positions.

QB Jay Cutler (Den - QB) QBBN @Oak Mon
WR Plaxico Burress (NYG - WR) WRW/RBN Was Thu
WR Wes Welker (NE - WR) WRW/RBN KC Sun
RB Frank Gore (SF - RB) RBW/RBN Ari Sun
RB Marshawn Lynch (Buf - RB) RBW/RBN Sea Sun
TE Kevin Boss (NYG - TE) TEBN Was Thu
W/R Earnest Graham (TB - RB) RBW/RBN @NO Sun
K Robbie Gould (Chi - K) KBN @Ind Sun
DEF New England (NE - DEF) DEFBN KC Sun

BN Donald Lee (GB - TE) TEBN Min Mon
BN Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ - WR) WRW/RBN @Mia Sun
BN DeAngelo Williams (Car - RB) RBW/RBN @SD Sun
BN Reggie Williams (Jac - WR) WRW/RBN @Ten Sun
BN Ted Ginn Jr. (Mia - WR) WRW/RBN NYJ Sun
BN Jeff Garcia (TB - QB) QBBN @NO Sun

Questions w/ opinions welcome.
1. Boss or Lee @ TE this week?
2. Wr / Flex position. J-Cotch is so tempting due to Farve and the opponent and Williams is poised in Carolina this year, but he's splitting time.

My traditional strategy for week one is go with what you know from last season, thus the starting line up I have now. Any thoughts?

Start Boss simply because I think he will get more targets than Lee.

^ I look at it like this...

A Shitty QB (Jackson) + A run first team (Minn) + an injured WR (Berrian's toe) + good CB's (Harris and Woodson) + season opener in GB

=

Don't start Berrian.

Buf's focus will be on shutting down Burleson...Taylor makes a sneaky good play in most deeper leagues this week.

2 positions where I need a little help:

1. RB
LT is my main guy, but who should I start at #2?

Michael Turner Vs. Det.
Selvin Young Vs. Oak.
Not a bad situation to have as a choice, but I just want an idea from others.

2. WR
Andre Johnson is in at #1. I have a mixed bag outside of that. I'm trying to pick up Hines Ward off waivers, but won't know until Saturday about that. I need 2 of these guys:

Lee Evans Vs. Sea.
DeSean Jackson Vs. StL.
Eddie Royal Vs. Oak.
I also have Robert Meachem for later in the season (plus I think he'll be an impact later on, and possibly trade bait, but we'll see).

V I would not take that trade. As you said, you have McGahee, who can be injury prone. But Smith is penciled in at starter in Detroit. I think Willis will obviously affect Rice's carries more than Rudi Johnson will affect Smith. I like Marshall too, but I also like Jennings. I could see them have similar seasons to each other. Mainly because of Rice, I wouldn't take that trade.

I've got a problem with my W/R spot this week:

I've got Willis McGahee and Ray Rice, plus Nate Burleson.

with McGahee hurt, I would put Rice in, but now it seems like they might split. Would it be better to just put in Burleson and hope for a big game, or play whichever Raven gets the start Sunday morning?

Note: for points we only start getting points at 50 yards carried or received...so making 2 receptions for 15 yards or 12 runs for 48 yards gives me nothing.
