Terp, so you consider me the backwoods redneck or whinning republican?
3/20/2008 11:16:07 AM
You get your own category. You're a "dumb piece of shit"
3/20/2008 11:19:43 AM
i've never voted or registered with any political party but i'm sure terp would consider me a whinning republicanand even though i grew up in a metropolitan city and went to the same high school as terpball, i'm sure he considers me a backwoods redneckcause the only people who don't agree with the all-mighty terpball's political ideologies (and i use the term ideologies very loosely) must be dumb rednecks or whinning (whatever that means) republicansoh and also terp isn't defending reverend wright just because he's a black man...thats not the reason]
3/20/2008 11:20:42 AM
I was talking about the people dwelling on him, I don't give a fuck about Wright - I'm defending Obama. Not even so much defending him, but pointing out the fact
3/20/2008 11:27:56 AM
ALL PEOPLE THAT DISAGREE WITH ME ARE EITHER "WHINNING" REBUBLICANS OR BACKWOODS REDNECKSTHATS THE ONLY EXPLANATION MY WALNUT SIZED BRAIN CAN COME UP WITHbtw you dont matter either...seriously]
3/20/2008 11:31:22 AM
dumb piece of shit? how so terp. Do you attack me because we disagree politically? Im more educated? Make more money? Im white? What is it.I dont find you to be a very thoughtful person, but I wouldnt call you a piece of shit. I just dont know you. But I gather you work, went to college, and come from a nice family.. You are far from what I consider a piece of shit. Naive and immature, but not a piece of shit.

Here's a video from the song that opened up the Values Voter debate last night with Republican superstars like Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo, and Alan Keyes. The song is called "Why Should God Bless America?" and basically concludes that, well, he shouldn't because we are a nation of heathens.I haven't seen anybody calling out the GOP for this, double standard much?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X77R_prkCkgWhy should God bless America? She’s forgotten he existsAnd has turned her backOn everything that made her what she isWhy should God stand beside herThrough the night with the light from his hand?God have mercy on AmericaForgive her sin and heal our landThe courts ruled prayer out of our schoolsIn June of ‘62Told the children “you are your own God nowSo you can make the rules”O say can you see what that choiceHas cost us to this dayAmerica, one nation under God, has gone astrayWhy should God bless America?Shes’s forgotten he existsAnd has turned her back on everythingThat made her what she isWhy should God stand beside herThrough the night with the light from his hand?God have mercy on AmericaForgive her sins and heal our landIn ‘73 the Courts said weCould take the unborn livesThe choice is yours don’t worry nowIt’s not a wrong, it’s your rightBut just because they made it lawDoes not change God’s commandThe most that we can hope for isGod’s mercy on our landWhy should God bless America? She’s forgotten he existsAnd has turned her back on everythingThat made her what she isWhy should God stand beside herThrough the night with the light from his hand?God have mercy on AmericaForgive her sins and heal our land

I personally am much more offended by BO's or HRC's actual political plans than this Rev. Wrong debacle. But, to those of you who think this doesn't matter in the general election I just want to say here and now that I am not going to defend McCain for the next 4 years. He is not my candidate and I think his campaign is pathetic, but heck I think all he needs to do is just stay silent until the election at this rate.

Wright seems pretty crazy coming from the roman catholic perspective - but it I was an American protestant I wouldnt' mind that guy being my pastor I guess. I'd have to get used to the yelling and screaming and the over-all brute candor
3/20/2008 11:37:38 PM
3/21/2008 12:04:43 AM
Considering the videos actionpants posted, Wright's apparently not crazy 90% of the time at least. It's easy to see how Obama didn't know about his crazy sermons, and it's even less clear to me now exactly what was going on in the supposed crazy sermons. It's unfortunate though that people were duped so easily, but I guess that's politics.
3/21/2008 12:06:51 AM
I like this guy, Rev. Wright.he's pretty fuckin awesome. I'd join his church.
3/21/2008 12:08:51 AM
The very fact that Obama has been holding his shit together Stonewall Jackson style through such a massively ridiculous 'scandal' more then proves he's an able leader to me. Yes, lets all get worked about what the guy who makes a living believing in mystical forces says.
3/21/2008 12:32:35 AM
It says a lot about the Democratic party that the only people to really stand up for Obama on this are McCain and Huckabee
3/21/2008 12:36:59 AM
...and obama supporters.
3/21/2008 12:40:39 AM
...and relatively neutral third parties.
3/21/2008 1:02:34 AM
Sorry, I meant publicly in the mediaHillary was just all "I didn't listen to the speech but I sure am glad he gave it" and I haven't heard any comment from Pelosi or Dean at least
3/21/2008 1:04:02 AM
The Democrats tend to be a looser coalition of tribes than the Republicans. Lock-step is a rare march for them.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120604775960652829.html?mod=googlenews_wsjThis is a pretty good analysis I think on why most people seemed to like Obama's speech.

3/21/2008 5:07:51 AM
I like how everybody who criticizes Wright loves Robertson and Falwell and doesn't care when they used to endorse people (at least in Falwell's case). All preachers are crazy. Is this really an issue?
3/21/2008 8:47:31 AM
^ Falwell's dead, dumbass. You need some new far-left talking points.
3/21/2008 8:52:34 AM

Trinity finally gets around to posting the full sermons, calling out Fox news (which was one of the worse, but all the outlets were pretty bad too):http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=TRINITYCHGOhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvMbeVQj6Lwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOdlnzkeoyQThis helps as far as showing the media was taking things out of context, but Wright is clearly anti-Bush (and heaps praise on Bill Clinton pretty generously), so this isn't going to do much as far as reaching across the aisle to the right.
3/23/2008 9:08:12 PM
Wright seems like a pretty cool dude. This supposed scandal has increased, not decreased, my support for Obama.
3/23/2008 9:27:10 PM
its made me realize clinton is the only dem that has a chance to beat mccain in the general election imo
3/23/2008 9:52:57 PM
I'm sure we'll hear an apology tomorrow.Psych!
3/23/2008 9:53:32 PM
^ to be fair, Jackson/Sharpton rarely apologize for the BS they occasionally get caught up in, I don't think the evil white media feels the need to oblige either Although, they have been more softer in their coverage of the Wright issues.

Where is Reverend Wrong? Maybe these folks can help: [Edited on March 24, 2008 at 4:57 AM. Reason : ]

he is retired numb nuts.
3/24/2008 9:26:47 AM
3/24/2008 3:20:36 PM
They are clearly a completely different story when put in context, but it won't help the damage it has done.
3/24/2008 3:48:55 PM
^^^ Reverend Wrong is actually on sabbatical, nutsuckr--you should do your own research instead of letting the DNC, MoveOn, and Daily Kos develop your talking points. In any event, neither retirement nor sabbatical preclude him from defending the statements in question--I'm sure there are plenty of new outlets that would give him a platform.
3/24/2008 4:01:09 PM
Do you have anything to support your assertion he is on sabbatical and not retired? I hope you realize that retired people do take sabbaticals. Because the Chicago Tribune has him preaching his last sermon and all the news sites have him as retired. But please, play your game of semantics.http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-wright_11feb11,1,4431179.storyAnd isn't it cute, the man who complains about ad hominems uses them himself. So much for being older, wiser, and more mature.[Edited on March 24, 2008 at 4:11 PM. Reason : .]

^^ Actually, I double-sourced my "assertion," dumbass--the church secretary and the church's own Web site--can you read? Yeah, I know that Reverend Wrong is headed toward retirement, so what? See my following statement, which you also conveniently overlooked:
3/24/2008 4:21:38 PM
His location doesn't matter anyway. He owes you and the media nothing. You have already shown a propensity to take his words out of context. Likewise, in many settings retirement and sabbatical are the exact same thing. Especially with ministers and professors.
3/24/2008 4:48:42 PM
^ No it isn't, you dumbass. "Sabbatical" is simply leave; "retirement" means you leave for good. And don't give me any "emeritus" bullshit--that's another thing entirely. sabbatical:
