I'd say the most consistent effort yet overall, keys to the game include Costner never playing, Horner actually shooting a three like he should, (on his birthday btw) Javi's positives are beginning to outweigh his mistakes, we did a decent job keeping Washington from exploding, not so much Vasallo[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 10:27 PM. Did anyone else get the bobblehead and find that it has a messed up paint job?
2/5/2008 10:34:26 PM
i thought it had a messed up paintjob when i first opened it, but i realized it's a net around his neck.

I thought the student section sounded very loud on TV tonight. I could hear the booming as well. Just remember to remind the people on the front row of the sideline seating to kick those hockey boards. Those are great for helping aid the booming sound. I also heard the "Flopper" chant when Washington tried to draw a push off by flopping to the floor. I laughed. Definitely do that for Paulus when we get Duke again.I hear that some students are planning on throwing flip flops at Paulus' general direction during warm-ups. Sounds awesome. They couldn't give us a technical foul, b/c the game wouldn't have started and the refs wouldn't be out there. I mean the Crazies have thrown women's underwear and even pizza boxes on the floor at players during warm-ups before.
2/5/2008 10:51:03 PM
^ they can kick you out though... trust me, i know about throwing stuff at bball games (from my dumb younger days)less fans is not ftw.
2/5/2008 10:56:35 PM
who is in charge of those stupid signs that say '3' on one side and 'DUNK' on the other?they need to be made special for the duke game to say 'FLOP' and 'HANDCHECK'.
2/5/2008 10:57:37 PM
someone just needs to make big posters with flip flops and big hands to hold up behind the basket during free throws.. and at all other times too, but especially during free throws during the 2nd half since TV likes to cut to the camera facing that basket[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 11:08 PM. Reason : maybe put the hands colored in black and white stripes]
2/5/2008 11:08:09 PM
i like the flip flop idear, but the hand idea needs some work.
2/5/2008 11:10:42 PM
yeah might not get the point acrossi dunno

^^Second!
2/5/2008 11:46:39 PM
If this team ever plays a whole game we will win by 30.Turnovers were horrible but the key the last 2 games has been hitting the outside shots to open up the post.

^^ so come up w/ something better[Edited on February 6, 2008 at 12:39 AM. Reason : shit or get off the pot]
2/6/2008 12:38:43 AM
it makes the point doesn't it?most people will probably know what we're talking about.. if not it will likely be supplemented by yelling FLOPPER too
2/6/2008 12:40:47 AM
Using Flip Flops like Thundersticks MUST happenthat is incredible
2/6/2008 12:42:56 AM
throwing flip flops on to the court sounds a little too risky with the nazi staff we got runnin the rbc centerthe entire student section all flopping during the starting lineups for greg paulus or when hes at the free throw line would be great but im not sure if i should put my hopes in the student section to pull that one offbut the chanting "flopper," "he's a flopper," or "flop flop flop", as well as the signs with handcheck/flop on both good ideas that can very easily be pulled off. and it would be golden if jiffy lube (the company that puts their name on the 3/JAM signs) would give the go ahead to put their name on FLOP/HANDCHECK signs. in other words, if every student had an official sign distributed in their seats...instead of just a few students making their own. Probably not very feasible but man that would be awesome. We'd be holding those up the entire game just about. And you know the alumni and commentators would eat it up.

I'd like to congratulate sid on his domination of va tech, however. It's all due to solid inside play.
2/6/2008 1:09:58 AM
^^^You can get flipflops for like a dollar a pair at Wal-Mart. I wonder if SWPC would get behind that idea.[Edited on February 6, 2008 at 2:12 AM. Reason : .]

javi is definitely improving. i didn't get to watch it, but judging from his stats, it seems like he played one of his best/most complete games of the season.
2/6/2008 8:42:30 AM
i didn't get to watch the game last night. Did Fergie get any PT??
2/6/2008 1:42:22 PM
nope...Tracy got some good PT tho[Edited on February 6, 2008 at 1:45 PM. Reason : df]
2/6/2008 1:45:03 PM
yea I really like Tracy subbing in for Hickson, Not much drop off thereAnd whenever lollerskates is healthy, sub him in for Big Ben
2/6/2008 1:49:01 PM
damn tracy smith got a rebound everyone possession he was on the floor it seemed.
2/6/2008 2:15:28 PM
again, the intensity waned at the end. They got lazy and made a bunch of dumbass passes trying to run clock. Fucking stupid.BE INTENSE FELLASI DONT CARE IF YOURE UP BY 2139023. other than that, they played awesome, and it sucks VTech isnt our "rival" cos sid knows how to dominate them.
2/6/2008 2:18:02 PM
forget bad passes, they got lazy and let vt score every time down the floor.
2/6/2008 2:29:55 PM
^^ I would love to see a game where we not only dominate, one where Sid doesn't call off the dogs until the final buzzer sounds. Something where we take it to them even after they've conceeded and we win by 40+it might not be the most sportsman-like thing to do, but i'll be damned if we dont deserve a game like that after all these years

^^ its sad when you have to say, well 2 years ago we had a blowout.im talking more about the ones where you really pour it on. When we have a blowout it's that we get up by 15-20, then maintain the lead for the rest of the game. Rarely do we start off strong and continue to do better than the other team, especially against a decent/good team
2/7/2008 12:38:28 AM
rarely does anybody do that
2/7/2008 12:45:32 AM
2/7/2008 12:48:27 AM
i don't remember the score, but we beat the hell out of vt last year (in raleigh).
2/7/2008 7:33:03 AM
i think it was 81-56.
