Go for the RC51.

Got a deal on the ZX-10R. Everybody that inspected it said "Dude, BUY THIS BIKE. DO NOT LET THIS DEAL GO." I put down a deposit and I'll have it Monday unless something comes up preventing me from going to get it. I can't wait y0.It is so fucking sick dude. The owner's wife is who rode it and her husband is meticulous. I got a good price due to the slightest scratches where his wife dropped it in the driveway (Like the scratches are literally tiny little 1mm x 1mm nicks on two very small spots). She's too short for it, lol. The scratches are so small you can't even see them unless they're pointed out to you. It has a Two Brother's Carbon Fiber exhaust that sounds insane. It also has brand new tires. The bike is a 2006 model with 7800 miles and I believe the color is called "Solar Yellow" (It's a beautiful color). I'm gonna have to be careful as hell with this shit. Oh, it's stupidly lightweight too. It feels like a fucking feather when you pick it up off the stand. I was amazed at just how light the damn thing is.[Edited on September 20, 2008 at 6:17 PM. 9/20/2008 8:53:01 PM
Yeah, we do. I'll let you know as soon as I have this beast in hand, it should be Monday. I'll be riding quite a bit, including all this week and next weekend and every other weekday and weekend possible, lol. [Edited on September 20, 2008 at 8:56 PM. Reason : ]
9/20/2008 8:56:21 PM
Haha, yeah...i've gotta scrub in my tires for the next 75 miles or so, but should have them well broken in by mid week.
9/20/2008 9:00:34 PM
Nice, just let me know when you want to meet up. Btw, I looked at an 2005 600RR with 10k miles today before I decided on the ZX-10R. The 600RR was FUCKED UP. I mean, it was god awful and the dude wanted $5000 for it. When I went out to look at it, he pulled it out of a shed where he kept the lawn mower. It was more filthy than I can even describe, the lawn mower was actually cleaner than the bike..... There was some kind of dried fluid that had sprayed out from behind the front fairings and it had massive amounts of tar stuck all under the tail of the bike, which meant it was all over the Yoshimura RS-5 exhaust (Which sounded SICK btw, it was the only redeeming part of the bike). He had sliders that looked like worn down nubs because the bike had been down so many times. Every body panel was severely scratched. I mean, somehow even the very front of the front fairing (Right under and even between the headlights) was heavily scratched. There was no license plate bracket, the plate was just hanging off of part of the tail by a fucking metal wire! Then I moved on to the drivetrain. The oil when viewed through the little window was just sickeningly filthy. The chain was completely covered in rust and looked rather dry so I put my forefinger on it. Nothing, at all, came off on my finger..... The chain was 100% dry..... The engine did run pretty well, I'll give him that, but there's no way I'd ride a bike with a chain in that condition. That chain's a ticking time bomb just waiting to snap and wreak havoc. At that point I told him I'd have to think about it and I'd call him back. He's called me a few times, but I don't have the heart to tell him how fucked up I think it is that he's asking $5000 for a bike in that condition. I can't stand it when people don't mention that shit ahead of time and they let you waste a bunch of gas to go out and see a totally fucked bike that is only 3 or 4 years old and has 10k miles on it. I mean, I might have paid $2500 for it if I felt like doing a bunch of work. The thing that really gets me is that I wouldn't have cared as much about the body panels if he'd just taken care of the thing. When I saw the chain I realized that he probably didn't take care of anything on the bike at all. He said he'd been riding for over 10 years and yet he didn't take care of his shit at all. I guess it's like anything else though. Lots of people drive for 50 years and never take care of their shit either.[Edited on September 20, 2008 at 9:22 PM. Reason : ]

Dang! That thing was in worse shape than mine when I got it.I've basically completely rebuilt my bike. It's in pretty decent shape now, but it did take a good bit of work. There's no excuse for an '05 to be in that bad shape though.

They look good. I'd only give you $1 for them though, because they're useless to me. Good luck with the sale son. I'm sure they'll sell rather easily. Throw them on CL son. STEP OUT THE BAR SON. STEP OFF YA GRILL SON.
9/21/2008 7:16:47 AM
any of you knuckle heads ride dirt bikes? i plan on going to the motocross track near clayton on sat the 27th if anybody wants to meet out there.
9/21/2008 8:32:51 AM
I'll gladly ride someone else's dirt bike.

Here's the fucking beast. This thing is so fast at any rpm in any gear it's frightening. But especially when you get up to 8000-9000rpm, then shit REALLY starts to get out of hand.
9/22/2008 10:37:06 PM
that looks pretty damn hot. I'll trade you an rc51 for it
9/22/2008 10:52:09 PM
NOTHING sounds as good as an rc51 though...
9/22/2008 11:02:42 PM
I beg to differ son.

Yeah I've heard them, still doesn't compare to this ZX-10 motor. It sound so fucking nasty. I'll try to get a video of it tomorrow. It wont be one of those stupid videos where somebody just revs it next to the camera either. I'll be riding it down the street moving away from the camera so you can actually hear the sound of the ZX-10R with a Two Brother's single exhaust under load.[Edited on September 22, 2008 at 11:25 PM. Where are you?
9/22/2008 11:36:52 PM
I'm out near Brier Creek, but can be near campus in 15 minutes...5 minutes if I hook up the radar detector
9/22/2008 11:38:27 PM
later this week you better believe I'll be down. I havent ridden in 2 months and my last part is in the mail to me.
9/22/2008 11:39:01 PM
sweet. I'll have the 8500 x50 wired up by then
9/22/2008 11:44:19 PM
I'm down for riding whenever as long as I'm not tired. I don't want to ride the beast when I'm not 100% though. That seems like a really bad idea.
9/22/2008 11:52:59 PM
Holy mother of God. That thing IS a beast. We'll see if she can keep up in the corners though.
9/23/2008 11:39:35 PM
that bike won't be the limiting factor anywhere
9/23/2008 11:40:57 PM
haha, i know. I'm slow as shit at cornering, but I know my 600rr isnt.
9/23/2008 11:43:26 PM
^^ Oh yeah, the bike can do way more than I can. That's for damn sure. Plus, I'm being really cautious on it as I'm not yet fully familiar with the bike. I've only had it for like two days, lol.I will say that at full throttle it's frighteningly potent. I really can't stress that enough. ^ That was a good ride tonight man![Edited on September 23, 2008 at 11:52 PM. Reason : ]

Man, 2nd gear lifts the front wheel every time once it gets up around 9000-10000rpm. It's fucking nuts to be able to just roll on and lift the wheel at 100mph+.
9/24/2008 8:01:53 PM
Man, I dont think i've even hit 12k RPM on my bike on the road....ever.Redlines at 15k. Even last night...at the speeds I was hitting...in 5th gear I didnt quite hit 12k.
9/24/2008 8:07:01 PM
Yeah, mine tops out at 13k. Scenery anywhere besides a small circle right in front of me is literally blurring by that point. [Edited on September 24, 2008 at 8:10 PM. Reason : ]
9/24/2008 8:09:39 PM
so let me get this straight..you went from an SV-650 to a ZX-10R?you should sell that shit and get a 600RR
9/24/2008 8:12:38 PM
SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN SON.[Edited on September 24, 2008 at 8:17 PM. Reason : YOU NEED TO SELL THAT HONDA SON. YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT.]
9/24/2008 8:14:07 PM
im just sayin, looks like you let your ego buy that bikeyou could definitely flip that thing, bank some money and get something more managablei.e. funbecause the dominant feeling when riding a liter bike is more than likely fearnot that that's a bad thing, just sayin
9/24/2008 8:23:11 PM
I just got a damn good deal on it, I was considering LOTS of bikes. I'm not picky honestly. I don't plan on tracking my bike and no matter what it is I don't really plan on pushing it really hard in the corners. I've already been hit head on by a fucking truck, lol. I'm not trying to go out and do some stupid shit. I love this bike though, it's really light and the throttle is super smooth and easy to modulate, plus it's really easy to ride. The power is incredible, yes. It will lift the front wheel in 2nd gear easily once you get up into the area where it's putting down 140-150whp, but after 2nd the wheel stays down and it just pulls like a beast. The best thing about it is that you can just leave it in 6th gear and torque your way by things like it's nothing. No need to downshift. I just like going for a straight burst anyway or going through some corners quickly, but I'm not trying to drag pegs on the street and shit. That's a great way to get yourself killed. I don't like taking it to the limit, because the slightest miscalculation (Or if other vehicle comes into your fucking lane headed right at you) pretty much means you're going down or you're going into oncoming traffic or off the road. I've already learned how quickly you can get fucked up riding a bike on the street. I'm just taking it easy man, I like the power but I don't get on it unless I've got a lot of clear area and there's nobody around. Even then I just go for short bursts. I don't plan on becoming a "ghost rider" or some shit, I just like to cruise around with some power under my ball sack.[Edited on September 24, 2008 at 8:38 PM. Reason : ]

don't lie, you bought it to knock me off as the tww roll racing champion. what do you weigh if you don't mind me asking? a monster of a bike is even more so with you being fairly small.[Edited on September 24, 2008 at 10:28 PM. Reason : love the color... reminds me of my f4]
9/24/2008 10:27:19 PM
Honestly I don't think I weigh more than 160lbs. Let's put it this way: I can't put enough weight forward, even with a full tank of gas, to keep the front wheel down once it gets up into higher rpms in 2nd gear.[Edited on September 24, 2008 at 10:34 PM. Reason : Last time I checked I was 155lbs.]
9/24/2008 10:31:25 PM
nice. that gives you a decided advantage over most people.
9/24/2008 10:36:07 PM
We'll see how the vert does soon. [Edited on September 24, 2008 at 10:41 PM. Reason : Yeah, lots of people I see riding these things weigh 200lbs+.]

I bet a 300 pounder can.Like I said before, I'm not trying to sell it, I like it a LOT. You can read my reasoning in that paragraph I wrote a few posts up, I don't feel like re-writing it. What you mean is that YOU would have more fun on a 600.[Edited on September 24, 2008 at 11:05 PM. Reason : ]
9/24/2008 11:03:29 PM
probably noti weigh ~205 and can sit on the tank on my little 900rr at a 30mph roll in first it can go as high as i'll allow itand it doesnt even have but maybe 120 rear wheel hp
9/24/2008 11:07:46 PM
I dunno, a 300 pounder is pretty fat y0. The riding position is pretty far forward on this bike too, it's also very small and narrow. It feels just as light as my SV though, so you may be right. In 1st I'm certain that nobody is going to keep that wheel down, but I'm still not sure about a 300 pounder not keeping it down in 2nd. [Edited on September 24, 2008 at 11:12 PM. Reason : I don't know if it was clear, but I was talking about a 2nd gear "roll on."]

It's something worth considering. Once I get used to controlling it better when going all out in 1st I'll take it to the strip. I don't need to go out there and embarrass myself just yet. From how fast it feels and the few videos I've seen of ZX-10R's racing cars, I don't think it's going to be easy for most cars to walk this bike. I've seen a video of a really good rider taking an identically set up ZX-10R into the mid to low 9's at something like 150 mph. Here's that guy running stupidly fast times, he's really good. This bike is identical to mine in the setup except that it's an 04-05, which tend to put down less peak and mid-range hp than the 06-07. The 08's are even nastier! Man I love this fucking bike. I'd be willing to bet that he could add a few mph to that speed with an 06-07.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpRx7krqVS8Here's another 2004-2005 ZX-10R, although the video calls it a GSX-R1000 for some reason. This should give you an idea of how the vert may do.http://videos.streetfire.net/video/170whp-ZX10R-walking-a_56059.htm2008 ZX-10R hitting over 189mph (Speedometer stops there):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lToTgZMtOFQ&feature=relatedIt seems like most people can at least pull a low 10 in the high 140's though.YOU OWE ME A TEN SECOND CAR.[Edited on September 25, 2008 at 7:14 AM.
