I was very unsuccessful today. The run went okay, but I was slow on the doughnuts. The whole thing just isn't sitting very well with me though because I thought I had won. I'm just coming back from a knee injury, so when someone yelled, "you're way out in front" when I was on my way back I just put it in cruise control. I saw the winner up ahead but I was positive he was just a casual runner, so I didn't bother giving chase. Then I finish and see him getting interviewed and was like, "DAMNIT." Not to be a sore loser, but this one is going to bother me for a while.

To be fair, if this was held at UNC-CH and someone from NCSU won, you know good and well that you would be like "GO PACK, WOOOOOOOOOOO!" regardless that you were at a rival school. It sucks that it wasn't a NCSU student/alum/faculty (or a twwer!), but its great to see people from other schools supporting this cause. Money for charity is money for charity! It all helps and spends the same regardless who gives it.


I'm not trying to rub it in or anything, I would have loved for an NCSU student to win, and really liked for bellrabbit to win again!

and about the cost. it does cost a lot to get the doughnuts, the shirts, and have the streets closed. i'm sure saket will get you all good info on how the funds work out. and remember its not 3000x$15 because some people are supporters, and they pay only $10

and last year, assuming each person paid $15, we also donated less than 50%
2007: ~1350 x $15 = $20250, but only $10000 donated

As far as the race goes... blew it. I could only eat 6, the stretching the stomach thing didnt work out, or i am a pussy... either way. However i have never been able to eat more than a few so i htink my mark is 6 haha. My brother finished all 12.

I'm always on the lookout for great pictures to show when people from the media ask. There should be a Krispy Kreme Challenge 2008 album or group with Flickr. Yeah, hmm, I definitely had plenty of room in my stomach. The sugar and grease just repulsed me when I hit number 10. I dry heaved a lot. I got "splashed" a couple times by fellow challengers around me at KK. It was gross.

Maybe try the lettuce thing next year, but do it several times in the weeks leading up to the race?
