This is a terrible game. If we were a better football team we would be winning this game

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends...
9/29/2007 6:36:28 PM
TA still working doing time at the fast food joint?
9/29/2007 6:36:43 PM
it is gonna be sad when we give UNC a W......but we do that so often lately that it doesnt bother me as much as it used to.
9/29/2007 6:37:24 PM
and there goes the game...
9/29/2007 6:38:58 PM
thank god... if we are going to lose we better not cover...
9/29/2007 6:39:24 PM
^seriously
9/29/2007 6:39:38 PM
I wonder why any team even tries to do anything other than run the ball down our throats. It'll take UNC at least a half before they figure that out.
9/29/2007 6:39:49 PM
THANKS FOR LETTING THEM KNOW!11
9/29/2007 6:40:49 PM
I don't think it really matters because UNC is counting down the days to come and get another W on our home field....AGAIN!!!
9/29/2007 6:43:41 PM
At least we can throw a screen that goes for positive yardage this year.

life savings on louisville -8 still feels like
9/29/2007 6:54:51 PM
Why is Daniel Evans in now instead of Beck? I live in Virginia now so I cant watch the game here, I only have a stat tracker.
9/29/2007 6:55:10 PM
Beck was injured. Strained an elbow throwing an INT.
9/29/2007 7:00:33 PM
9/29/2007 7:00:48 PM
I meant it as if Louisville let us hang around for 3 quarters and if we could move the ball and execute better on offense we would have won because Louisville played like shit today.
9/29/2007 7:05:25 PM
was Andre Brown down on that fumble?
9/29/2007 7:33:01 PM
no. the crowd sure seemed to think so
9/29/2007 7:46:07 PM
he was down...<--in the crowd.
9/29/2007 8:05:13 PM
He was definitely not down, but why not burn the challenge as a last ditch effort when you're about to lose?[Edited on September 29, 2007 at 8:17 PM. Reason : whoops]
9/29/2007 8:16:48 PM
9/29/2007 8:21:44 PM
We should be glad, though, that we held Louisville's offense to under 30. How long has it been since that happened to them?
9/29/2007 8:22:56 PM
Kushner is a fuckin assclown, that kid needs to go to play for Cary Academy.
9/29/2007 8:28:08 PM
Team needs to start caring. They look pathetic at the walk of champions.Take off your damn headphones, get into the gameday atmosphere, and clap along with the crowd to the fight songs.Christ almighty. You are the goddamn athletic representatives to my alma mater? I'm ashamed. I am utterly ashamed. Lose if you must - I do not care - but at least show some passion.Guess it'll just take a few years to weed out the Amato mindset. And recruit some actual football players.
9/29/2007 8:31:54 PM
I hope brohm breaks his damn arm next weekend against utah. gg with under a min to go and still trying to pad your heisman stats.
9/29/2007 8:33:52 PM
^^wow. amato got canned because his players showed too much "passion" and obrien was hired to calm their asses down. And of all the reasons why we suck, you come up with the stupidest fucking one.kill yourself, faggot.
9/29/2007 8:34:52 PM
Calm down there, tiger. Don't work yourself up over an online forum post. The Amato mindset was "I'm a star." O'brien was brought in to apply discipline and change that mindset to "we are a team."Contrary to what is apparently popular belief, you can indeed have both. And it is the reason we suck. Inconsistent moments of brilliance and stupidity on the field has no other explanation but a lack of focus and vision.[Edited on September 29, 2007 at 8:39 PM. Reason : ]

this team is so doneno reason to even play the rest of the games
9/29/2007 8:41:52 PM
im curious as to how o'brien's recruits end up doing when they get here

Well we currently have the #22 ranked recruiting class and only have 12 commits. By the time the class fills out we could be top 20. Heck if a couple more of the big boys commit we could have a top 15 class. TOB will do well once he gets his players in here. I see some good things every now and then, but there's just too many mistakes reminiscent of Amato's final years here that offset them. Imagine if Beck doesn't throw the interception or throws the ball away instead of fumbling it those two times we had it inside the 30. We would have had two chances for field goals and that could have helped sparked the team and the crowd, and maybe have even put pressure on Louisville to take more risks in their playcalling. I doubt we would have won the game, but it would have at least been a much closer game. ^Also we snapped Brohm's 7 game streak of having 300 or more passing yards. Brohm was 20-of-33 passes for 250 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.[Edited on September 29, 2007 at 9:31 PM. Reason : ]

Did anyone honestly expect anything other than a loss? I mean really. Some of you need a dose of reality.
9/29/2007 9:37:19 PM
well, that's not fair yet. only time will tell. i mean, i could go coach the patriots tomorrow and win, and belichick could coach state and lose. it's not like TOB can go back in time and recruit an OL, or bring his OL with him, or QB, etc.it's frustrating that all TOB has done so far is take a team that lost every game by 5 points and make them lose by 20. but i have faith that it will get better.

You don't leave a constant ranked team like BC unless there are bigger issues at hand. If facilities and fans were all that mattered, then Oklahoma State would have one of the best coaches and teams in America.[Edited on September 29, 2007 at 10:06 PM. Reason : .]

Well we have had something like close to 10 players have knee surgery this year, and are only playing around 70 out of usually 85 available scholarship players. Our O-line sucks ass and is very inexperienced. A lot of the O-line players on the two deep depth chart to start the season had either never started a collegiate game or had limited experience. Couple that with the decimation of the D-line and you are fixing up a recipe for disaster. We also have played some really good teams up to this point. The crew doing the game today even mentioned that it was one of the tougher starts to a season nationally. As for recruiting classes, it's pretty hard to cross the Atlantic in a dingy, and it's very rare to win the ACC with shit recruits. I know about Wake Forest last year, but the ACC was down and most of the players that were starting were redshirt junior and seniors that had been coached up very well. Also they had a lot of luck.

^ha, that fuck has never stepped foot in north carolina. he went to some community college in georiga and gets off on trolling an NCSU message board
9/29/2007 10:21:32 PM
We only held Brohm under 300 yards of passing bc he didn't need to throw the fucking ball. They ran all over us.
9/29/2007 10:22:01 PM
I'm glad we've had all these tough teams early in the season. Hopefully it will give us a chance to get better and pull out some wins when we play the easier teams later on.The defense played much better today. It was a 6pt game until the 4th quarter. We still have defensive issues with stopping the run and forcing turnovers, but they showed improvement today and that is encouraging. We just have to quit punishing our defense by failing to make first downs and turning the ball over so many times when we're on offense. Louisville had possession of the ball for 38 minutes today, nearly twice as long as we had it. Got to give our defense credit for holding back one of the best offenses and quarterbacks in the league for three quarters. Hopefully they can continue the progress at Florida St. next week.[Edited on September 29, 2007 at 10:24 PM. Reason : .]

As I posted in some ChitChat topic:Louisville's offensive production this year:Aug 30, 2007 MURRAY: 655 yards, 73 pointsSep 06, 2007 MIDDLE TENNESSEE: 729 yards, 58 pointsSep 15, 2007 at Kentucky: 467 yards, 34 pointsSep 22, 2007 SYRACUSE: 628 yards, 35 pointsAgainst us: 498 yards, 29 pointsOur D did pretty well. You can't really fault them for breaking at the end of the game, considering how often our O turned the ball over.Edit: ^I agree, Burke is crap... what idiots were calling for him to be in?[Edited on September 29, 2007 at 10:27 PM.
