And the "last straw" wasn't the charge alleged--the charge was very specific. Furthermore, a student reading a book about how Notre Dame overcame the Klan is the "last straw"? Really? How so?

Sean Vera, the student who is trying to bring Karl Rove to his campus, commented on the situation: 'It is very disconcerting to see Loyola not live up to the standards of academic freedom that they frequently preach about. I never expected Loyola would prevent the free exchange of ideas and that they would do so in such a partisan manner.' Young America's Foundation serves as an arbitor in helping young activists bring speakers such as Karl Rove to campuses across the country. We offer a list of more than 70 speakers to choose from. In 2009, we sponsored more than 600 lectures that reached more than 500,000 people nationwide."

And don't give me that private university nonsense. In this case, Loyola had allowed other left-wing partisans to speak on campus under similar circumstances. It's about fundamental fairness.

I've seen this personally at NCSU when I was there in the Sociology department.

One time in Soc 205, our TA was teaching the class and went on a rambling for about 20 minutes about why he was a liberal and why he votes the way he votes.

In the same class, the professor told the class not listen to our parents or get any advice from them because they grew up in a different social time. I then look at the books and papers we were studying and noticed that half were from the 70s and 80's. Of course this material was being presented as factual for society today...I was like . The hypocracy was bad in that class though.

I remember thinkings....hmmm....most of these kids are here because their parents are paying for an education and the only thing they are learning is to not listen to their parents.
