Is anyone else having problems with the strum bar on the guitar? Whenever there is a section where I have a bunch of notes to play in succession and I try using up and down strokes, sometimes notes don't register. At first I thought it was my timing but I'm now convinced I need to have the guitar replaced.
11/28/2007 10:05:59 PM
open it up, look at where the two strips of metal touch when you strum, wedge a piece of electrical tape behind the metal. presto, your strum bar is fixed, and even ultra sensitive (which I prefer). If that doesn't work, take the tape out and send it to EA. If you were careful, they'll never know you were playing in the guts.

^post a pic of the mod
11/28/2007 10:38:59 PM
ummm, I'll try to find the directions that I used, but I didn't take pics myself. And I'm not about to take the damned thing apart again, there's about a million screws
11/28/2007 10:42:04 PM
http://schlaghund.wordpress.com/2007/11/22/rock-band-guitar-fix/this is similar, but I rolled the electrical tape so the sticky side was out; that way it shouldn't accidentally fall outwedge it behind the contact close the the screw next to the microswitch ... I also tightened the tension screw.[Edited on November 28, 2007 at 10:47 PM. Reason : big pic]
11/28/2007 10:44:13 PM
where it says spacer?
11/29/2007 12:31:14 AM
No ... there's "plastic nub B," then the first contact, then the second contact, which has a foam backing of sorts. Put the tape between the foam backing and that round plastic piece with the screw going through it. It'll push that second contact closer to the first one, which is pushed by "plastic nub A" hitting "B." Just don't use too thick of a piece of tape or the contacts will touch constantly.[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 12:48 AM. Reason : ]

I finally got a full band last night over at my place and it was rediculously fun. We all alternated instruments, it was hilarious.
11/29/2007 1:15:21 PM
This game is addictive, I can't wait for the ps2 release on December 18th
12/2/2007 10:35:34 AM
i thought ps2 was the 11th?
12/2/2007 11:25:43 AM
wikipedia says the 18th
12/2/2007 2:21:56 PM
Is there any way to alternate instruments in world tour mode without having to use someone else's character/profile?
12/2/2007 2:37:11 PM
I played the drum set yesterday at best buy. a ton of fun. I spent the day trying to find it to buy. No luck Feel a little like a dork, but was too much fun to pass up.
12/3/2007 10:09:05 AM
Lucked up. Found one at Gamestop. The question now is 'Do I sell off the guitar'? They are going for $150 without the game, and I only wanted it for the percussion.
12/3/2007 12:17:29 PM
where are they going for $150 for? thats almost incentive enough to buy it myselfI only wanted the drums too...let me know so I can get on that.
12/3/2007 12:18:55 PM
i saw $60 on craigslist
12/3/2007 12:51:20 PM
Ive barely even used the new guitar yet, been playing the drums non stop.
12/3/2007 12:57:48 PM
12/3/2007 1:07:57 PM
this game is fun. i can only do the drums on medium right now though. my brother got lucky and found 4 in a walmart in pembroke or something and bought them all
12/3/2007 2:20:40 PM
questioni saw the pad felt mods, buthow much of an effect would playing the bass pedal late at night have on downstairs neighbors?i live on the third floor and the heads downstairs have already complained about noise twice, but that was from random late night bouts of drunkenness...
12/3/2007 6:06:24 PM
They were going high on ebay. Its funny, however, that some of the guitars are bidding well over $100 when there are plenty of buy it now for $75+shipping.BTW. Spent ALL day playing. Was able to get through 35 songs of the medium campaign, then decided to go online. I thought I was good, but I got killed most of the time on medium. I was almost perfect in some of the songs, and they still doubled me up. Are there a lot of 'regular controller' users out there not using the actual pad? Please add 'CarZin' as a friend, and we can compete.
12/3/2007 9:47:41 PM
^i'll own your ass as soon as my replacement bass pedal comes in
12/4/2007 1:29:54 AM
http://www.beatdownpads.com/for the non-do it yourselferscomes out to be cheaper if you don't already have a circle cutter in your posession
12/4/2007 6:38:23 AM
those sure did come out fast
12/4/2007 7:51:20 AM
^^anybody tried those? i'm about to order a set.
12/4/2007 8:13:52 AM
I just ordered those shitz! I hope they don't fuck with the feel too much. I dig everything but the loud "clack" on the pads ...
12/4/2007 6:53:57 PM
The clacking is only really annoying when the drummer is offbeat. When I'm on the drums and my sister is on the guitar, we rock out. Hoever, when she's on the drums it's hard for me because she gets off beat sometimes and it messes me up. When the drummer is doing it right, it's like a metronome.
12/4/2007 7:17:54 PM
I usually 95-99 percent everything on medium; but I hit the pads pretty damn hard, and the clack annoys me.
12/4/2007 7:43:26 PM
^herd dat
12/4/2007 7:59:13 PM
12/4/2007 11:55:37 PM
When you get your set, post how they want you to attach them, I couldnt find any instructions on thier website.Im just curious how they are getting them to stay on the drums.
12/5/2007 6:28:24 AM
ahesive i believeand theyve raised the price to 24.95 vs $16 when they were first availibleill just buy the stuff from michaels
12/5/2007 6:30:58 AM
you crafty motherfucker
12/5/2007 6:57:36 AM
HURRY NOW BEFORE THEY GET TO $30
12/5/2007 8:11:11 AM
i held off on ordering yesterday b/c it looked like the gap b/w the pad and the drum was uneven, like it wasn't a perfect circle. i was going to make some, then watched the video of the guy who made them w/ foam rubber and felt, and it just doesn't seem to dampen the sound enough. what about something like thin neoprene? i don't know where you'd buy it though...oooh what about buying a few cheap mousepads? the neoprene most likely won't slip on the rubber drum pad, so you wouldn't need adhesive, and they come in 13847139476 different colors. i just don't know if they'd be big enough. i'm going to look around online...[Edited on December 5, 2007 at 8:38 AM. i'm gonna feel so cool when i mod my drumset

this is similar ...http://youtube.com/watch?v=7oj2vSU7oF4
12/5/2007 12:48:24 PM
yeah, so, nobody else thought the neoprene mousepad thing was a good idea? i might go get some from office depot tonight, along w/ a circle cutter of some sort. we'll see...oh and most mousepads are 8" x 9 1/8" so that's plenty big if the circles need to be around 7"[Edited on December 5, 2007 at 1:03 PM. 12/5/2007 1:01:48 PM
i think neoprene would be too bouncyyou don't want to ruin the feel
12/5/2007 2:07:12 PM
yes sir!my boy just found a the last copy at the gamestop in fuquaygonna be waiting at my place when i get off @ 10...shenanigans are in order
12/5/2007 6:20:44 PM
best buys have had them in and out in the last 2 weeks
12/6/2007 10:36:39 AM
The neoprene mouse pad thing is really popular on a lot of the forums. They say the ones from staples work really well with some rubber cement on the back.
12/6/2007 10:56:09 AM
thank you! i knew i couldn't have been the first person to think of it...
12/6/2007 11:05:20 AM
