Reds draw GunnersUnited and Arsenal will play out the tie of the round after being paired together in the FA Cup last 16.Having overcome Tottenham in Sunday's thrilling tie at Old Trafford, the Reds will now entertain Arsene Wenger's side at Old Trafford in the fifth round of the competition. The Reds may feel slightly unfortunate to have drawn such difficult opponents, especially as Chelsea and Liverpool were handed home ties against Huddersfield and Barnsley respectively.Incredibly, United have now drawn Premier League opposition in each of the last 10 FA Cup ties (plus two replays). In order, they are: Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Watford, Middlesbrough, Reading, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Liverpool.

Yep, a shitty draw for both sides but even worse for Arsenal I think. Champions League is 4 days later so I know there is no way Wenger will field many starters with AC Milan coming up. Meanwhile United has a much more manageable (although still tough) opponent in Lyon.

Flamini with a GORGEOUS goal today against Newcastle. Arsenal back on top. For 24 hours at least...

1/30/2008 12:04:12 PM
i think newcastle has pretty much owned themselves this entire season. i kind of hope they get relegated this year.
1/30/2008 12:10:56 PM
it might be hard to be as bad as derby and fulham
1/30/2008 3:50:06 PM
2 more for ronaldo at halftimedoes anyone think he can break the season record for the premiership?
1/30/2008 3:51:10 PM
i need to get him on my fantasy team...my squad is solid but i can't make up any ground [Edited on January 30, 2008 at 3:55 PM. Reason : ^ i don't think he will]
1/30/2008 3:52:13 PM
Check out Ronaldo's free kick tonight. fucking sick:http://www.goalvideoz.com/watch/2067-manchester-united-portsmouth-cristiano-ronaldo-free-kick/
1/30/2008 8:08:05 PM
damn it, I clicked on that hoping to be able to post "Meh, that wasn't THAT great" but it was pretty sick
1/30/2008 8:21:43 PM
lol amac. i told you ronaldo shouldve been the worlds player of the year. ronaldos not even a striker and is destroying the league. and im not sure how/why you dont have him on your fantasy team. btw, im ranked 62nd in the entire league for people who started in week 2
1/30/2008 11:04:07 PM
i had fabregas as my big money player then dropped him when he was hurt and spread my funds outLET'S SEE RONALDO DO IT WHEN IT COUNTS...NOT JUST IN THE MINOR LEAGUES[Edited on January 30, 2008 at 11:13 PM. Reason : ]
1/30/2008 11:13:10 PM
haha. lets see kaka put dip on a drilled shot like that.
1/30/2008 11:14:18 PM
pleaseeeeeeee kaka hits those balls on the run...pirlo = best dead ball striker
1/30/2008 11:16:33 PM
lol. before this year my money would be on riquelme on dead ball scenario...but ronaldo is proving to be quite deadly this year
1/30/2008 11:17:44 PM
WRONGpirlo...juninho
1/30/2008 11:19:36 PM
pirlo...more like queerlo, amirite?i think im just leaving ronaldo as my captain the rest of the year in fantasy...since he scores every week and man utd shut someone out almost every week
1/30/2008 11:22:36 PM
i had elano as my captain for awhile...changed it to adebayor today
1/30/2008 11:27:00 PM
i got rid of elano this week.. hes in a slump right now. i picked up david bentley on the trade.
1/30/2008 11:29:43 PM
Brad Guzan's work permit appeal was denied so he won't be going to Villa after all
1/31/2008 5:26:39 PM
prob a good thing...he wouldve rode the bench somehow or anotherwow, so i just saw on soccernet that man city and portsmouth made a swap between Defoe and Benjani...interesting trade that i think benefits tottenham more so than portsmouth[Edited on January 31, 2008 at 10:40 PM. Reason : l]

Arsenal 3-1 over Man City and Man U ties Spurs with help from an own goal means Gunners back on top of the table.
2/2/2008 12:02:21 PM
wooo
2/2/2008 12:12:16 PM
^^ that wasn't an own goal. Tevez put it in
2/2/2008 1:10:13 PM
Did anyone watch the ManU/tottenham match? Has to be the best match I have seen all year. It is funny Tottenham has always reminded me of the EPL version of NC State. Sure enough after playing their ass off for 93 mins they give up a corner on the final kick of the game.1 pt at Tottenham isn't a bad result. Only 2 more hard road matches left for Utd.Rooney got his 5th yellow cards today and will be out against City next week
2/2/2008 1:12:49 PM
^^When I looked at the score on ESPN, it said Dawson had an own goal for Spurs. Now it shows Tevez as having credit for the goal. Thank you ESPN
2/2/2008 1:40:17 PM
how bout eduardo thank goodness i made adebayor my captain this week

need some help.Explain the process of getting cleared for a work visa in England. I saw where the player from iraq got turned down... it is based on on well the countries do in soccer?
2/2/2008 3:58:25 PM
Ferguson needs to quit playing Scholes and Giggs. Both should be on a senior circuit. Anderson is a complete badass, and nani is better than giggs.
2/2/2008 4:00:03 PM
^^ I think to be considered (unless you have a EU passport), you have to play in 75% of your country's official games (excludes friendlies) in the last two years and your country has to be in the Top 70 FIFA rankings. There some special exceptions to the 75% rule, younger talents and stuff like that... which is why Guzan being denied was odd because only so many goalkeepers can get caps... I think Iraq hasn't been able to play enough games to allow them to be ranked in the top 70 so he was automatically denied a permit.
2/2/2008 4:03:29 PM
^^agreed, giggs was at his best about 5 years ago...hes like 34 now, nani is perfectly capable of playing the left wing...and with anderson, carrick, and hargreaves(assuming hes not injured), there should be no reason scholes should start. both these players are good, but they should be relegated to sub players now... like ole gunnar dwindled down to.
2/2/2008 4:27:54 PM
2/7/2008 11:29:03 AM
no sas??? lol!
2/7/2008 1:41:47 PM
MAN CITY OWNS MAN UNITED
2/10/2008 2:06:42 PM
The Liverpool/Chelsea game was a real yawn fest
2/10/2008 2:25:50 PM
Arsenal 5 points clear at the top!
2/11/2008 4:55:39 PM
^it is over 90 pts is going to win it this year.fabregas is 1 yellow away from a 2 match ban. It is amazing how bad Utd looks. Scholes and Giggs are the gigantic suxor. I think Utd has lost 3 games when Rooney was out .
2/11/2008 9:23:40 PM
yea its not lookin too good for utd...scholes and giggs dont need to play anymore. maybe ferguson needs to throw a shoe at them and cause a bust up and ousting at the club to finally get them off the pitch
2/11/2008 9:25:51 PM
FA Cup should be fun to watch this weekend. Hopefully Saha will come back one day
2/11/2008 9:33:42 PM
